She previously served as the Coordinator for the Faculty Career Enhancement program for ACM. She was the Midwest faculty fellow for the Regional World Initiative at the University of Chicago and the Illinois Humanities Council Road Scholar for five years. She also served as President and Treasurer of the American Institute of Pakistan Studies.Dr. Haq received four National Endowment for the Humanities awards to engage in advanced studies on Comparative Religions at Harvard University, the University of Wisconsin, the University of Chicago, and Columbia University. She was awarded Woodrow Wilson Fellowship.Dr. Haq holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Fredonia and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Cornell University. Adnan Rasool, PhD is an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Political Science at the Department of Accounting, Finance, Economics and Political Science at University of Tennessee - Martin. Previously, Adnan was a Visiting Lecturer at Georgia State University’s Department of Political Science and part time faculty at Spelman College's Department of International Studies and Agnes Scott College's Department of Political Science. Adnan's teaching and research interests are in International Relations with a regional focus on Asia. Adnan also has over 10 years of experience as a policy expert working with international organizations and national governments in South and Southeast Asia. Adnan has worked in different capacities including in senior advisory roles with organizations like United Nations, Asian Development Bank, and the USAID in addition to Governments of Pakistan and Nepal.

Farida Jalalzai is the Associate Dean for Global Initiatives and Engagement, College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and Professor at Virginia Tech (PhD, University of Buffalo, 2004). Her research analyzes the role of gender in the political arena including women national leaders. Her books include: Shattered, Cracked and Firmly Intact: Women and the Executive Glass Ceiling Worldwide (Oxford University Press 2013) which offers a comprehensive analysis of women, gender, and national leadership positions; Women Presidents of Latin America: Beyond Family Ties? (Routledge 2016), a comparative analysis of women presidents in Latin America and Senhora Presidenta: Women's Empowerment and Disempowerment in Brazil: The Rise and Fall of President Dilma Rousseff, which examines the first female president of Brazil (with Pedro dos Santos, forthcoming 2021 Temple University Press).
She is coeditor of the volume Measuring Women's Political Empowerment Worldwide (with Amy C. Alexander and Catherine Bolzendahl; Palgrave 2018). She has authored dozens of articles and book chapters related to women in politics around the world. Her work has appeared in leading journals including International Political Science Review, Politics & Gender, Politics, Groups & Identities; Politics & Religion, and Women, Politics & Policy. Her research has been funded by the Thyssen Foundation and she is a recipient of the Fulbright Commission Global Scholar Award. She is frequently quoted and featured as an expert in high profile media outlets including The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The New York Times, the PBS Newshour, The Guardian, The Christian Science Monitor, VOX, Politico, and NPR.
