In today's episode I'm joined by Paniz Radmard of UPLVFT Events.
In March of 2022, Paniz was involved in a car accident which left her with head trauma. She suffered a minor stroke, Bell's palsy, and partial hearing loss due to the fluid build up from the impact of the accident. This also lead to her developing an autoimmune disease called Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria. Paniz shares her story of the accident, how it impacted her both physically, emotionally and mentally, and how her journey towards healing inspired her to start Uplvft Events. Paniz also shares her experience going through mental health struggles, having to stay at a hospital due to her mental health and what that experience was for her especially coming from her cultural background. Please note that we do discuss struggling with mental health as well as descriptions of self-harm. Feel free to skip this episode if this is trigger to you.
Uplift events will host its Toronto health, wellness & fitness expo on August 19th & 20th at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel & Suites. Visit www.uplvft.ca for more information, book your tickets or showcase your brand/business.

Today's episode is a bit of a different one. I recorded an episode with my sister-in-law, Habiba for International Women's Day and wanted to get it up on that day but I had some technical issues and wasn't planning on uploading it at all. The episode was recorded on March 8th and we spoke about women we look up to or inspire us and I mentioned my grandmother (my Avó). My Avó was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia a couple of years ago. On March 20th I received a call that she was at the end of her life, she could pass anytime and that I should head down to my hometown to be with her. She passed away on Saturday, March 25th, just a little over two weeks from when I recorded the Women's Day podcast episode. I decided to publish the episode because she did mean so much to me and I want to have a little piece of her in whatever I can.
In today's episode I am sitting down with my sister-in-law to discuss her experience dealing with grief after the loss of her father. This was such an insightful episode, I am so appreciative that she wanted to do this episode and share how she copes with such a difficult experience. I took away so much from our conversation and I'm hoping some of you will too.
Hey guys ! Today I have a quick little ramble of an episode. I'm not sure how much sense it makes but this year I am trying to focus on not having to be 'perfect' so I'm uploading this episode anyways. Thanks for bearing with me while I get this whole podcast thing down!!

Thank you guys so much for tuning into today's episode. This was supposed to go up on January 3rd, however, sometimes life doesn't go as planned and I wasn't able to upload the episode then. I do think it's a helpful episode though and one of my goals is to get consistent and post even if things aren't 'perfect'. Today's episode goes over the pressure we sometimes feel around goal setting especially around the New Year and how you don't have to succumb to societal pressures surrounding the New Year and new goals. Hope you enjoy the episode and be sure to subscribe for new episodes every Monday morning !!

Happy Monday my friends !! Today we have a SUPER exciting episode for two reasons - 1. We have my husband Youssef on the episode as my first ever guest, and 2. We're talking about one of my favorite topics - visualization, manifestation & confidence. It's a really good episode with a lot of take aways that I hope will help you on your journey or at least help you start the week off.
I hope you enjoy today's episode as much as I did !! xx

Happy Monday Friends !! Today I wanted to go over the notion of self-love and this idea that it relates to pampering yourself, face masks and bubble baths. Today we will go over how self-love is actually self-discipline and tough love along with the pampering, taking it easy, face masks and all that jazz. !!

Happy Monday guys!!
I hope you all have an amazing week. Today we are going over the ability to say 'no' and how you can stop being a yes woman. This is a topic that is becoming more and more popular and it has popped up in so many instances that I just couldn't ignore it. This is also something I have been working on, because I too struggle with saying yes to everything. So grab your cup of coffee, tea, water... whatever you reach for and have a listen.
xx Amia

Today we are going over the importance of 'why' and how you can use it to achieve your goals and change your life. We discuss how finding out what your 'why' is crucial to setting and achieving your goals and how to use 'why' to break through limiting beliefs. Figuring out my 'why' and asking myself tough questions has really changed my life and mindset and I'm hoping it will for you too !!
