This week, Duffy and Daniel went to jail... voluntarily. đł Before you assume the worst, they were invited to visit the Fort Bend Juvenile Detention Center, and what they experienced behind those locked doors was eye-opening, heartbreaking, and surprisingly hopeful.
From unexpected conversations to powerful moments that stuck with them long after they left, they unpack what they saw, why they felt called to go, and what it says about our responsibility to love people who are often forgotten.
Of course, it wouldn't be a 1LoveHTX episode without a few laughs along the way. Between the humor and the heavy moments, the conversation takes an unexpected turn into the role family dynamics play in shaping our livesâfor better or worse. What starts as a jail visit becomes a much bigger discussion about brokenness, purpose, and the ripple effects of the home we grow up in.
And fair warning... this episode opens the door to a conversation that's so important, it deserves its own follow-up episode.
Come for the "Wait... you guys went to jail?!" Stay for the hope, the laughs, and a conversation that just might change how you see the people behind the bars.

Remember when AI was supposed to help us write emails, find pizza, and finally beat our friends at chess? Well, somewhere along the way it started writing songs, creating art, taking customer service jobs, generating social media influencers, and apparently applying for jobs better than actual humans.
In this episode, Daniel and Duffy dive headfirst into the growing backlash against AI, especially among younger generations who are starting to ask some hard questions:
"Wait... I just spent six figures on a degree, and now a computer can do my job?"
From college graduates struggling to find careers, to musicians watching algorithms pump out songs in seconds, to social media becoming a giant game of "Real Human or Robot?"âthe future is getting weird.
And let's be honest... it's becoming harder every day to know what's authentic. Is that influencer real? Did that artist actually create that song? Was that article written by a person or by a machine that hasn't slept since 2022?
But this isn't a doom-and-gloom episode.
Daniel and Duffy tackle the bigger question: What can we do about it?
How do we stay in control of technology instead of letting technology control us? How do we continue sharpening our minds when AI can instantly answer almost anything? What skills will still matter in the future? And why human creativity, critical thinking, faith, relationships, and purpose may become more valuable than ever before.
The guys discuss practical ways to keep your brain engaged, challenge yourself, build skills AI can't easily replace, and avoid becoming dependent on a machine for every thought and decision.
Because here's the truth:
The future isn't being written by AI.
It's being written by people who choose not to quit.
Technology only wins if we surrender our curiosity, creativity, and determination.
So get up. Learn something. Create something. Build something. Lead something.
The next generation doesn't have to become victims of technologyâthey can become the people who shape it.
The robots may be getting smarter, but humans still have the final vote.
Let's go. đ„đïž

In this episode, Daniel and Duffy jump headfirst into one of those conversations that can make family dinners, holiday gatherings, and Facebook comment sections a little... interesting.
What happens when your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or favorite fishing buddy follow a different religion than you do? Can you still be close friends? Are Christians responsible for someone else's salvation? And how do you show the love of Jesus without becoming that guy everyone avoids at the barbecue?
Then Daniel pulls out some of the biggest questions he hears from people all the time:
"What about those who grew up in completely different cultures?"
"What about Native Americans, Muslims, Buddhists, and people who never heard the Gospel?"
"What would Jesus actually do in these situations?"
Yep... the guys aren't tiptoeing around the shallow end. They're cannonballing straight into the deep waters.
But don't worryâwhile the questions are serious, the conversation is packed with humor, honesty, and the kind of real talk that makes you think long after the episode ends. Expect laughs, challenging perspectives, a few moments that might make you squirm, and plenty of insight as Daniel and Duffy wrestle with some of life's biggest spiritual questions.
Grab your coffee, buckle up, and join us for a conversation that's equal parts thought-provoking, faith-building, and surprisingly funny.
This one might challenge what you think... and that's exactly why you should listen. đïžđ„

Death⊠yeah, we went there.
Itâs the one topic nobody escapes, yet most of us avoid it like that one friend who âjust needs to ventâ for 3 hours. Whether youâve lost someone close, wrestled with fear of your own mortality, or just had that late-night âwhat happens after I die?â momentâyouâre not alone.
In this episode, Duffy and Daniel step straight into the uncomfortable and ask the question most people donât: Is death actually our enemy⊠or could it somehow be our friend?
Why do we fear death so deeply?
What does grief really do to us?
Why does losing someone hit harder than anything else in life?
And what does the Bible actually say about death, eternity, and what comes next?
With honesty, humor, and real-life perspective, we unpack the emotional weight of loss, the spiritual reality of eternity, and the tension between fear and faith. This isnât just a deep conversationâitâs one that challenges how you see life, purpose, and whatâs beyond the grave.
Letâs be realâ100% of people die. (Encouraging, right?)
But what if understanding death could actually change how you live?
If youâve ever struggled with fear, grief, or questions about the afterlife, heaven, hell, or Godâs planâthis episode is for you.
Itâs heavy. Itâs real. It might even make you laugh in places you didnât expect.
So⊠is death something to fear, fight, or understand?
Hit play and letâs go there.

What if everything you thought you knew about biblical timelines⊠is just a little off?
In this episode, Duffy and Daniel dive headfirst into one of the biggest hang-ups people have with the Bibleâthose crazy long timelines. Thousands of years? People living HOW long?! Yeah⊠we go there. But instead of brushing it off, we flip the perspective and uncover something wild: what if these timelines actually make the story more credible, not less?
Think about itâwhen people lived for centuries, âhistoryâ wasnât passed down through dozens of broken telephone generations. It was shared firsthand. From Adam to the generations that followed, the gap between creation and recorded accounts might be way tighter than youâve ever imagined.
And just when you think it couldnât get any more interesting⊠we take a turn into the mysterious, the debated, and the âwait, science canât explain that?ââincluding things like the Shroud of Turin and other head-scratching phenomena that refuse to fit neatly into a box.
This episode is part deep dive, part barbershop talk, and part âdid we just uncover something huge?â moment. Itâs fun, itâs a little wild, and yeah⊠the guys definitely get stupid along the way.
But underneath the laughs is a real challenge:
Are you believing truth⊠or just repeating what youâve been told?
If youâve ever wrestled with doubt, questioned what you were taught, or just want to strengthen your faith in a real and personal wayâthis oneâs for you.
Pull up a seat, press play, and get ready to rethink timelines, rediscover truth, and see the story of Jesus in a way that hits deeper than ever.

What do politics, social media, conspiracy theories, and your uncleâs Facebook posts all have in common? Theyâre all apparently training for the Olympics of Division⊠and gold medals are being handed out daily.
Welcome to The Great Division â where it feels like every conversation is a step onto a cultural minefield. One wrong word, one hot take, one âwell actuallyâŠâ and BOOM đ„ â friendships shaken, families tense, comment sections in flames.
In this episode, we dive headfirst (carefully⊠very carefully) into the reality that much of whatâs happening in our world isnât just chaotic⊠itâs divisive by design. Issues are being placed like landmines across our cultureâpolitics, race, faith, identity, truthâjust waiting for someone to step on them and trigger another explosion of outrage, confusion, and separation.
But hereâs the real question:
Are we accidentally helping plant those mines ourselves?
As followers of Jesus, weâre called to unity, love, and truth⊠yet somehow we can find ourselves arguing more than loving, posting more than praying, and reacting more than reflecting. So what does it actually look like to navigate a world wired for division without becoming part of the blast radius?
Expect some laughs, some âouchâ moments, and maybe a few realizations that hit a little too close to home. Because letâs be honest⊠sometimes the division isnât just out thereâitâs in here.
So grab your spiritual boots, watch your step, and letâs learn how to walk wisely through a world full of triggers⊠without losing our witness in the process.
This isnât about avoiding truth.
Itâs about carrying it the right way.

In this wild, fun, and slightly unhinged episode of the 1LoveHTX Podcast, Daniel and Duffy take a ride through the decadesâunpacking the evolution of music, culture, and some of the strangest trends weâve all just⊠accepted along the way.
We kick things off in the 80sâwhere hair was big, boundaries were blurry, and the lines between masculine and feminine got⊠real interesting. From subtle (and not-so-subtle) darkness in hairbands to the rise of new wave and its bold, culture-shifting expressionsâweâre asking the question: was it just creativity⊠or something deeper?
Then we slide into the 90s, where the vibe takes a hard left turn. Enter the grunge eraâstraight out of Seattleâbringing raw emotion, rebellion, and a heaviness that reshaped an entire generation.
Fast forward to today, and things get even more intense.
How has darkness found its way into hip-hop? Is the genre losing its soulâor transforming into something new? Is hip-hop on the way out⊠and if so, whatâs next?
And just when you think weâve covered it allâwe step into the future:
AI-generated music vs. real, human-created art. Are we trading authenticity for convenience? Or is something deeper at stake?
Ohâand donât get too comfortable⊠because Duffy drops a question on Daniel that NO ONE sees coming. Itâs bold, itâs raw, and it might just flip the whole conversation on its head.
This episode is full of laughs, unexpected turns, deep thoughts, and moments thatâll make you stop and think about the music you loveâand what itâs really saying.

Everyone likes to believe our time is different. Our country is stronger. Smarter. More advanced. Surely weâve figured out what the great empires of the past couldnât⊠right?
But history tells a very different story.
From Rome to Babylon, the greatest civilizations in the world all believed they were untouchableâuntil they werenât. Power, wealth, influence, and confidence eventually gave way to the same old patterns: corruption, violence, moral confusion, and leaders who couldnât be trusted.
Sound familiar?
As we look around today, itâs hard not to notice the similarities. The chaos, the debauchery, the crooked politics, the lies⊠and a culture that seems convinced everything is totally fine while the wheels are clearly wobbling.
But hereâs the harder question: What about us as Christians?
Where have we bought into the same false narratives? Where do we think weâve got it all figured out while still making some pretty terrible decisions? Are we placing our hope in systems, leaders, and culture⊠when we should be turning back to God for wisdom, direction, and truth?
This episode gets deep. Like âwait⊠are we the Romans now?â deep.
Donât worryâweâll still keep you laughing along the way. But this conversation might just challenge the way you see our country, our faith, and where real hope actually comes from.
Letâs jump in.

Ever since AI and ChatGPT burst onto the scene, the world has been buzzing. Some people are amazed. Some people are building businesses. And some are convinced we just downloaded the Book of Revelation.
So⊠is AI the devil?
Is Siri one software update away from summoning demons?
Or is this just the next tool in humanityâs long history of figuring things out?
In this episode, we wade into the wild waters of artificial intelligenceâthe hype, the fear, the conspiracy theories, and the very real implications. Weâve all heard the warnings: âStay away!â âItâs evil!â âDonât get caught up in the devilâs work!â But is that wisdom⊠or just panic in a Wi-Fi world?
We wrestle with the bigger questions:
Weâre not here to fear-monger. Weâre not here to baptize robots either. Weâre here to think. To laugh a little. And to ask what faithfulness looks like in a world where the tools keep evolving.
AI isnât going away. The question is: how do we live wisely, courageously, and anchored in truth while everything around us keeps upgrading?

This episode dives into one of the most misunderstood (and frequently muddied) conversations in faith circles: Demonic Possession vs. Demonic Oppression. Same enemy, very different playbooks.
Can a believer in Jesus Christ be possessed? Or is oppression the real battlefield? And what does oppression actually look like when itâs not the possession spinning heads and Hollywood sound effects?
As I sit down with Duffy, we unpack the confusion, the theology, and the very real experiences heâs had with both. And hereâs the twistâoppression might actually be the scarier one. Why? Because itâs quiet. Itâs subtle. It blends in. No flashing red warning lights⊠just slow, sneaky influence that hides in plain sight.
We go deep, we get honest, and yesâwe even laugh a little (because sometimes humor is the only way to talk about heavy things without losing your mind).
This conversation might challenge what you think you knowâand make you more aware of whatâs happening around you (and within you).
Listen in, share your thoughts, and jump into the conversation. Weâd love to hear what you think⊠just donât blame us if you start paying closer attention afterward đđ„

Some stories are so wild youâd swear they were made up⊠until you realize theyâre straight out of real life, and in this case, the Bible too.
In this episode, Daniel and Duffy trade stories that sit right at the intersection of âthereâs no wayâ and âonly God.â From intense, jaw-dropping moments theyâve personally walked through to biblical accounts that still feel unbelievable thousands of years later, this conversation is packed with humor, honesty, and a healthy dose of awe.
These are crazy moments, but woven through all of it is a clear reminder of the powerful, creative, and often unexpected nature of God.
The goal isnât to sensationalizeâitâs to shine a light on the wonder of God and remind us that Heâs still active, still moving, and still very much involved in our lives⊠sometimes in ways that leave us saying, âOkay God, that one was wild.â
If youâve ever wondered whether God still shows up in big, unmistakable waysâthis episode is for you.

Ever been cruising through your day, coffee in hand, to-do list locked and loadedâwhen LIFE cuts you off without signaling? Yeah⊠those moments. The ones we usually label as âinconvenient,â âannoying,â or ânot part of the plan.â
In this episode, we talk about unexpected interruptions. The kind that might actually be powerful God moments if weâre paying attention. Because letâs be honest: if youâre still on earth and breathing, God isnât done with you yet. Not even close.
I often say this is Godâs playground, and we get the wild privilege of coming alongside HIM and being part of what Heâs doing. The question is⊠are we open and aware enough to see it? Or are we so locked into our schedules, our hustle, and keeping up with the world that we miss the divine moments happening right in front of us?
With Christmas just a week away, we zoom in on the greatest interruption of all timeâJesus. God stepping into humanity. Heaven crashing into earth. A Savior arriving not with fireworks and fanfare, but in humility, obedience, and love. An interruption that changed everything.
Jesus didnât just interrupt historyâHe left us examples on how to live, love, slow down, and notice what really matters. But do we see them? Or are we too busy checking boxes and chasing noise?
This episode is lighthearted, honest, a little funny, and deeply realâan invitation to pause, pay attention, and maybe even welcome the interruptions. Because sometimes the thing that throws off your plans is the very thing God is using to change your life. Let's Talk about it!!

Weâre getting real!
This week, Daniel and Duffy dive into the struggles and the hopes that come with becoming (and being) a Christian. Spoiler alert: itâs not all mountaintop moments and perfectly highlighted Bible verses. There are questions. There are failures. There are awkward growing pains. And yes⊠there are stories.
Daniel shares some honest moments from his own life, along with experiences from friends who are walking this thing out too. These are the kinds of conversations we wish someone had pulled us aside for early onâthe stuff that prepares you, encourages you, and reminds you that youâre not crazy (or alone) when things get messy.
We donât claim to have all the answersâfar from it. But we do hope to spark some thoughtful reflection wherever you are in your journey. Whether youâre full of hope, knee-deep in mistakes, or discovering what restoration really looks like, this episode is for you.
Thereâs laughter. Thereâs honesty. Thereâs a little bit of âwait⊠is that normal?â And most importantly, thereâs grace.
So come hang out. Itâs another fun one.

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!! That's what I hear going into this episode... but hang with us! What in the world is Marxist Christianity? I had to look up the definition of "Marxist" when Duffy told me he had this on his heart to discuss....That's all I knew going into this episode: the definitions of Marxism and Christianity. I was still perplexed. I'm very thankful for Duffy's brain. There was definitely a lot to unpack here and many new things that challenged what is happening today in the church and around us. We are called to UNITY, not DIVISION. Let's converse constructively. This isn't a knife-throwing competition to hit our believer brothers and sisters in the back......these are challenges to things that go against the very word of God! The question is, will we hear it, or ignore it? Come on......Let's hang out!!!

On the last episode, Charlie Kirk broke our brains... in the best way possible. What started as a casual conversation spiraled into the question nobody wants to touch, and so this week we're tackling the question your algorithm won't answer either: Who is Israel, really? What does the Bible actually say about Israel? And no, we don't mean the one with the Iron Dome. Between antisemitism accusations flying everywhere and social media serving up hot garbage, we decided to crack open Scripture and see what's real. No pitchforks, just questions. Bring yours.

Josh Duffy and Daniel Salce discuss the events of the past two weeks surrounding the assassination of Charlie Kirk. We have a responsibilityâŠ.. come join the convo! It always takes a right turn. It would be irresponsible not to address this subject. The last thing we wanted to do was jump on the bandwagon, but it was weighing heavily on Daniel's heart to ask questions. Questions some may be too afraid to ask. That's the beauty of the 1LoveHTX Podcast......we don't get advertising budgets, we don't get paid, so we don't have to conform to anyone. We just get to sit down and have real conversations with 63 countries and each other as friends. What happened? What's happening? Where are we headed? What should we be on the lookout for? This is a heavy subject, NOT because it was Charlie Kirk, but because a HUMAN LIFE was taken because of HATE, and DISAGREEMENTS! As we said, it would be irresponsible if we didn't at least talk about it.......even crazier, it takes another turn. Wait for it!!

Have you ever seen a great movie where the main character takes a chance and then something incredible develops? We all wish we had that kind of courage- to go âAll-Inâ and put it ALL on the line. We are obsessed with these ideas in movies. We love watching it play out.
Our faith in God is challenged constantly in this same way. God is constantly inviting us to trust him. Trust his word. Receive wisdom. Get perspective that only he can give. He actually refers to it as âthe Narrow pathâ
In this episode we are discussing PRAYER, but more on a relational and conversation level with "God the Father". The simple definition of prayer is, âtime spent conversing with Godâ. We are invited to pray over all things. Jesus gave devoted time to prayer, and miracles happened as a result. We know prayer can give fresh perspective and direction, change our hearts and give us courage. The more time we devote to the activity of prayer, the stronger we become spiritually.
Come listen in on this discussion. PRAYER- our conversation with God and spiritual practice is so misunderstood and underused. We are here to learn how to lean into it and grow stronger. Thanks for listening.

Daniel has some of the most interesting conversations with people he knows and meets. This past week he was inundated with talks about the flood and the Tower of Babel. From those conversations came talks and questions he had no answers forâŠâŠ but isnât that sometimes life in Christ. Sometimes just allowing the mind to ponder the mysteries of the world are enough. Sometimes we wonât have the full answers but we can still have civil conversations. Duffy and Daniel discuss thoughts on the two stories and ultimately what we can pull from them. In the United States, we are just finishing a Presidential race thatâs been historical. We arenât interested in discussing politics directly but more as it relates to human behaviors. We always want our podcast to be a place for discussions of all kinds of topics that relate to our lives. This one can be difficult to navigate but it doesnât have to be.
The truth is, we are all affected by the political climate in the U.S. and to some degree outside our country.
People have been on the edge of their seats all over the world because of what is transpiring in several different countries.
Natural disasters, poverty, wars....sometimes it seems the world is on fire!!
That being said, we have to talk about our hearts and devotion as ChristiansâŠ.. whether Democrat, Republican or Independent âŠ..as Christians, what should it look like going forward? The world can be uncertain at times but Jesus said, "let not your heart be troubled". Let's talk about it!
Duffy and Daniel discuss some cool biblical stories that can help us understand and unify our thoughts.
God must be first⊠and we must love our neighbor if we want to survive and even thrive in the coming years.âŠ.. glad you are here!

AhhhâŠ..butterflies, racing hearts and hope for the future. Insert sappy love song here
Do you remember your first love?
Untouched by cynicism and the hurts of life. True love makes us want to go above and beyond to show how much we care; giving our attention to the relationship so it flourishes!
Oh the dreams we hadâŠReality often ruins these innocent moments. People fail us, and we fail them in return. Life is hard. Relationships can develop into obligations if we donât make them priorities.
Our relationship with God is very similar. Salvation is incredible! Itâs the greatest miracle. Finally, having our eyes opened to the freedom the relationship with Jesus brings is amazing!!
We have promises in scripture for new life and hope. Itâs exciting!!!!
Time can take its toll.
Life can become routine and our relationship in Christ dulls.
God is faithful and he never changes. We stray away but he calls us back to himself time and time again!! Donât miss thatâŠ.. HE never stops chasing His brideâŠ. US!!!
Duffy and Daniel talk about openly about their experiences in this episode. How do we get back to the NEW feeling? Itâs easier than you think!

Faith, if misunderstood, can wreak havoc on our beliefs. We are often exposed to teachings that donât match up with scripture.
Why is that important? The way we perceive our place in this world changes everything.
Faith is one of our great navigations in life; at least for Daniel, it was. Listen in as Daniel shares part of his journey with Duffy. The guys talk through several ways we misunderstand faith and how to clear the path to a deeper understanding of faith!

Have you ever heard that country song âLive like you were dying?â Ok maybe not hahahahaâŠ
The Bible has some wild stories in it!
During this episode we are investigating a scene from the Bible, John chapter 21. Peter is given true revelation about his own death!
SeriouslyâŠ.
What would you do?? Jesus told him what was going to happen, and it wasnât cotton candy and unicorns.
Jesus follower were loyal even into their own deaths. The time they spent with Jesus motivated them to speak the life changing truth of Jesus to as many people as they could. Christ disciples were amazing, courageous, devoted world changers.
Are you devoted to anything ?
There are 2 guarantees in life, our death and eternal lifeâŠ.
Somewhere.
The good news is, where you spend eternity is completely your choice.
(If you donât believe that,
we are even more pumped youâre listening in.)
The ones who knew Jesus intimately sure believed it; and were willing to give their lives so we could have eye witness accounts of the greatest human who ever walked the earth.
Jesus!
What amazing hope he brings.
No matter where we are in life, we all have access to this kind of hopeâŠ.a belief in something so much greater than anything we can experience or fathom here on earth, Letâs go!
This message is truly for anyone,
no matter what you believe.
We hope it will bring you some sense of security and direction! There is definitely more! We look forward to hanging out and hopefully hearing from you!

Heroâs have fascinated human beings since the dawn of time. Real life, characters in movies, or folklore seem to absolutely captivate us. Take for example the Marvel Comics empire featuring heroâs like Iron Man, or Thor; but isnât it funny how the bad guy always lives in the end for another round. There is a difference between a Hero and a Savior. A savior would be the ULTIMATE HERO to finish the story, and we have one fighting for us. The story is finished! He has won and we need not be afraid. The bad guy doesnât want us to see this, so he tirelessly throws fear, guilt, pain and lies our way to take our eyes off the truth.
Do you know the truth?
Can you stand with certainty when these things come to take away your joy and promises? Today we discuss the reason why we donât need to worry, but instead focus on complete victory. Even the evil challenger who stands against this savior totally believes HE is who HE says HE is. The bad guys fate is sealed.
Come listen in as we discuss. We are glad youâre here!
We welcome all questions or comments that you may have to discuss! Duffyâs Deep Dive will follow up next week. DONâT miss it! Thanks for all the support!

We have heard so many questions about Salvation. How hard is it to get? Can it be lost? How do you know you are saved? What does the bible say? Why are there confusing stories? Is it really this hard? There is one story in particular where Jesus speaks of people in the final days saying, "We followed you. We did things in your name!", but Jesus responds....."I NEVER KNEW YOU!!" Wow, that seems so harsh! What was he talking about here. Join us as Duffy and Daniel discuss thoughts on this verse and others. The reality.......NO, ITS NOT THAT HARD and MAN HAS REALLY MESSED up A LOT OF THINGS! We hope this conversation will shed some light on your thoughts and offer some peace that JESUS always brings!!

The Bible reflects the character of God in many ways. Sometimes thru descriptive text passages, and sometimes we learn thru stories of people encountering Jesus, angels or miracles. The book of Joshua chapter 5:13-14 says something interesting.
13) Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, âAre you for us or for our enemies?â
14) âNeither,â he replied,
âbut as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.â
Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him,
âWhat message does my Lord have for his servant?â
Did you catch it? The subtle point that the Lord told Joshua he was not on his side or anyone elseâs!
We have been losing sight of that characteristic of God for centuries.
God does not belong to anyone .
In todayâs culture, a great deal of time is spent declaring what side weâre on, talking about who we are, or what we stand for. Itâs exhausting!
There seems to be endless opinions without absolute truth.
This story in Joshua can help align our mind, heart, eyes and spirit to what truly matters âŠâŠ God plan and His Will.
Are you interested?
Come join us as Duffy and Daniel wade thru our very turbulent waters, but hope to help bring clarity to one and all.
We hope to challenge you if youâre a believer and most importantly talk about the deep love of God for us all!!
That means YOU!

Wow summer of 2024 has provided quite a lot of controversy.
For example, the attempted assassination of a former president of the USA, outrage over the opening ceremonies of the Olympics in Paris and continued wars. Even the earth is full of storms, volcanic eruptions and various natural disasters.
There seems to be an abundance of chaos globally.
Todayâs podcast is a discussion of a how all these things affect human beings and how we respond to them.
We often talk through topics that are untouched in certain circles because they are hard to navigate. This will be no exception. With the abundance of information and opinions itâs easy to get confused, frustrated or even angry. Donât get it twistedâŠ
One definition of the word Twist is to distort or misrepresent.
Finding truth isnât easy but we have some suggestions.
Thanks for joining us, weâd love to hear from you!

In recent years every human being on earth with technology is continually inundated with stress, fear, and the unknown. Itâs so easy to welcome distractions to deal with stress and pressure. So how are we to respond to that temptation? So many options are available, some good and some not so good. Today we are going to talk it through. Even from ancient times, Jesusâ teaching has wisdom that surpasses the passing of time.
Come listen as Daniel and Duffy dissect this topic, with the goal of refining our vision using the application of Godâs word to our time today. We are so glad youâre tuning in! Support the Show. Check out whatâs happening locally with â1LoveHTXâ and ways to get involved.

Come listen as the guys dive deeper into what makes so many cringe in our seats and share another viewpoint that might make you think differently. Jesus said giving should be with a joyful heart. Throughout history, even people who didnât believe Jesus was the son of God would agree that he was an amazing teacher, and lover of people. As true followers of Christ we constantly try to teach ourselves to be like him in this way⊠Lovers of people, all people. Sadly, this is also the area we fail miserably.
Today we talk about how to overcome the obstacles we naturally face when weâre trying to grow in our ability to love other people.
Like that really old song your grandma likes⊠â what the world needs now is loveâ
By Hal Davis
Or
âAll you need is loveâ by John Lennon and countless other songs hoping to get the message across.
People have observed our world is in desperate need of more love. Ultimately our Creator God wants us to love each other too.
Check out these words from the book of 1Corinthians
13 :1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecyand can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b]but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails.
God sent Jesus in love for us.
So come check out the conversation , we hope youâll grow with us.

Think about thisâŠour experiences with our fathers will influence our opinions of God. Even the greatest Dads canât measure up to God our Heavenly Father!
If you have a good relationship with God and really know His character youâll agree.
Sadly, Thatâs not always the case, I myself put God in a box, assuming he was displeased with me and unconcerned, until I was overcome by His love. My understanding of his character grows daily. So let talk it over. Is God a good or bad Father? Why doesnât he intervene in the state of our world? Why do we suffer through traumatic experiences? There is a tension we all wrestle through with God.

âDead Man Walkingâ is a gripping film exploration of the death penalty and compassion.
In the movie, which is based on a true story, a nun becomes the spiritual advisor to the inmate on death row. Throughout the movie, there is a tension hanging as they become friends.
As you watch the plot unfold, your mind wrestles with being compassionate towards the inmateâŠ.
Whatâs this got to do with the podcast?
We have an INTERNAL judge and jury constantly monitoring our mind and heart. Depending on our circumstances, we may condemn ourselves frequently over daily life choices and experiences.
We can be pretty brutal towards ourselves.
Solitary confinement and negative self talk can convince us we are unworthy of love, friendship, and community. It can be an impermeable barrier between ourselves and humanity; as well as completely cutting us off from God.
Listen in as we talk through all the ways this effects our lives.
Isaiah 61:1 is a scripture about JesusâŠ
âThe Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.â

âBelieve Me!â is a statement we have heard or said many times in our lives. Itâs usually connected to a sales pitch or recommendation, so naturally we may have some hesitation.
Jesus says in many places throughout the Bible âbelieve IN meâ
That isnât a sales pitch itâs a call to faith with an unmeasurable reward.
We receive our salvation through belief, our comfort, wisdom, faith, and many other things.

Salvation - what is it, what are we being âsavedâ from?
What do I have to do to be saved? All questions we may have heard or even wrestled with in our lifetime.
The Bible tells us Salvation is the greatest miracle and it is available to every single person on earth!
We ALL can literally be a part of the greatest miracle!
So whatâs the problem??? Our brain and behavior as a human race is completely jacked up sometimes. We love to complicate things by misinterpreting or adding things to the very simple message âŠ
What do I have to do to be saved? Believe!

Fascinating testimony from the U.K. today!
Seriously, the title says it all! One of our favorite things to do on the podcast is to listen to our friends tell their stories. Today we are excited to introduce you to Paula Osbourne from the UK. She has been a great supporter of the podcast from the very beginning.
The Bible tells us salvation is the greatest miracle. When our spiritual eyes are finally open, everything becomes so clear. Paula actually walked away from witchcraft first, because the connection became unappealing and scary. Then, God showed her how much he loved her and how he had been pursuing her since the beginning. She responded to HIM exactly how she was, honestly and with her whole heart.
We can't wait to share this very special guest with you. AND YES....Michael Jackson is a part of her story!!

There is nothing wrong with being informed of truth, but there is so much nonsense out there, how do you keep from being overwhelmed?

In this age of information. Anything we desire to know or see, is click away. This creates another issue; information we arenât even looking for starts to pop up on our feed.
Take the Bible for example you, could study and research the book your entire life and never run out of material; i.e. The actual content, archaeology, the authors, how the 66 books became contained in one, other books that were considered. With all of this comes opinions, debates, and conspiracy.
Just like everything else, people make their thoughts known today. The more the enemy can discredit the very word of God, the better chance he has at distracting followers.
Daniel's got some serious questions about the books of the Bible on this episode and Duffy clarifies why we have the books of the Bible; as well as the other books we have heard of in relation to the Bible. Join us as we journey into the historical realm of the greatest Love Story.

In this episode, Duffy picks up where we left off last week; with Satan entering the picture and trying to sabotage Jesus. Crazy to think he is so prideful. He really thought he could tempt the one who made it all and owns it all. Well, letâs take a deeper dive into who this character is that we depict with red skin, horns and a pointed tail. Duffy looks at some hypothetical ideas based on the earth and his entrance, how to recognize him and the victory and assurance we have in Jesus. This stuff will really blow you away! Have you ever overheard a conversation between a parent and a very inquisitive child? âWhy is the sky blue, why do birds fly⊠But why?But why ?!â And the conversation goes on and on. What about you?
Have you ever had uncomfortable questions about God and trouble finding someone safe to ask. Many times when people question the Bible or faith, they canât gain understanding because no one is available or willing to travel down the road with them. Letâs face it, there are too many people on earth for us all to be made exactly the same. God does not require us to robotically follow him. Questions are allowed and encouraged.
Listen in while Daniel brings some very uncomfortable and strange questions to Duffy on this episode. Whatâs the point?
Itâs knowing God more and agreeing itâs ok to ask questions about things that donât make sense to us. Listening, loving people and living like we believe it! Glad you stopped by, weâd love to hear from you!

We all deal with loss of some type.
Has something been stolen from you? Have you lost a loved one, a job, a family pet, or had other personal losses like sickness or disease?
Let's face it, the truth is, it hurts!!
So what do we do with this kind of grief?
Furthermore, if Godâs word is true (Isaiah 61:3), "He will make beauty from the ashes";
how do we find that beauty while experiencing grief? Today we are joined by our good friend Dr Paul Looney. Listen as we ask for insight to help maintain a healthy life after grief creeps in. Join Daniel, Duffy, and Dr. Looney as we dive into some good conversation and healing. We look forward to another powerful conversation.

If we have any bit of chaos or self destruction in our lives....well, Shame and Guilt are probably lurking around somewhere. Maybe you know someone like this....listening for a friend!? Daniel and Duffy discuss these wrecking balls of mass destruction to encourage and reveal a path towards healing.

Whether you've grown up in the church or not, I think most of us have heard the term, "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" in conversations or church circles. It's pretty apparent what Father and Son mean; but what exactly is a HOLY GHOST? If you know the meaning being also "Holy Spirit"; what other deeper meanings and implications does this have for us? What might we be missing? If you don't know its meaning, it might sound pretty weird. As usual, it's going to be another adventurous conversation with Daniel Salce and Josh Duffy as they go deeper. Of course, be prepared for conversations sprinkled with laughter and the guy's funny thoughts.

Depression hits hard. It can be a consequence of trauma, genetics, medical illness and chronic pain, unresolved grief, loss, and relational disconnection. It threatens to destroy our lives, but also invites us to dig deep and anchor ourselves in the bedrock of our faith.

Let's do a deeper dive on last week's topic. We get defensive to avoid blame or emotional pain. Sadly, all our defenses ultimately work against intimacy and keep us from connection. To ditch defenses we must die to self. Jesus leads the way.

Pastor Joshua Duffy and Dr. Paul Looney discuss. Emotional defenses are God-given and they can be life-saving when we are small. But what limits our pain in childhood may limit our freedom as adults. God wants us to die to self-protective maneuvers so that we can live vulnerably and authentically.
