Today we're off to somewhere special, to a city called Lausanne, located on the northern shore of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, to chat with our guest, Ms. Kanchan Chanana. Kanchan describes herself as an observer, curious and a striving human who's actively broken given norms, rules and excuses for the past two decades to unlock the other side of being. She's a first-generation professional in STEM and management. However, growing up came with considerable challenges from the many norms, beliefs, and rules that she felt suffocated by. Mentions of money, for example, were simply out of the question. Her academic journey proved adventurous, starting in an all-girls government school and deciding to pursue mechanical engineering, where she was the only girl in a class of 50. Her professional career started in a male-dominated world of automotive procurement. She became the youngest buyer responsible for managing spending of more than $100 million, and this role enabled her to oversee successful and complex negotiations with top suppliers and to understand the link between money and authority.
Three years later, she went on to pursue management studies in India and the United States and then joined a leading consulting firm where she worked in the US, Southeast Asia, and India, solving complex business problems for large multinational organizations. This role further expanded her understanding of money, authority, and decision-making. Some six years later, she joined the strategy function of a Global 500 corporation and found numerous systemic gaps leading to leakages in women's payslips every month, every year. This inspired her to speak up for equal pay for women at her workplace, which led to serial abuse behaviors, exclusion, non-transparency, baits, bribery, threats, and eventually a non-mutual separation. Kanchan's journey has revealed visible and invisible challenges to achieving equal and fair pay for women. She notes that in Switzerland alone, the women's pay gap amounts to more than $45 billion annually. Kanchan's story is to enable, educate, and engage women on the taboo topic of unfair pay. In our episode today, we traveled back to the island of Sri Lanka to once again connect with one of the country's most famous sons, Mr. Vidusha Nathavitharana, or V as many of his friends like to call him. A true legend in the field of leadership, facilitation, and of course HR. He is truly a modern day thought leader. And this aspect of Vidusha has been recognized by organizations such as Thinkers360 and Global Gurus, just to name two. He's authored an incredible 68 books, all of which are based on lessons that he has learned during his own career and that he offers to others for free. I'm excited today because I get the opportunity to chat with my good friend, Claire Chandler. Team, for your information Claire's sitting in New York City, and she's often referred to as the leadership therapist.

Today I’m visiting Beech, in the county of Hampshire in south-east England to connect with our guest Mr David Roy-lance.
David challenges all of us to think about how many of us feel we are really being paid the level of our worth, or value? And how many of us feel like the world's best kept secret? He then offers a little reality check by adding that we are all paid to the level of value that other’s perceive in us.
So who is David Roy-lance? Well he’s an Amazon best selling author, award winning coach and the CEO of 2 businesses and provides business support to several others.

Today I’m excited to be cyberhopping across the waterways to Arizona in the United States to chat with our guest Mr Brian Wood.
Brian achieved All-Metro, captain and MVP honors while playing basketball at William Paterson University in New Jersey.
After completing his undergraduate degree (BA Communications) in 1987, he combined his hunger for competition and adventure by participating on several traveling basketball teams including tournaments in Denmark, Puerto Rico, Australia, Mexico City, Alaska, Panama, and Hawaii.

It’s a special day today as I’m off to Costa Rica baby. Pura Vida to all! I think this is my 4th virtual visit to a country that sits high on my “must visit” list.
And we’re equally pleased to be chatting with Mr. Richard Blank, who is somewhat of an icon in the capital city of San Jose. You’ll understand why in a moment.
Richard’s vision quest journey is filled with twists and turns. When he was 27 years old, he relocated to Costa Rica to train employees for one of the larger call centers in the capital.
With a mix of motivational public speaking style backed by tactful and appropriate rhetoric, Richard shared his knowledge and trained over 10,000 bilingual telemarketers.
Today Richard is the Chief Executive Officer for Costa Rica’s Call Center which he founded in 2008.
Fun fact and to my point about being an icon - Richard has the largest collection of restored American Pinball machines and antique Rockola Jukeboxes in Central America making gamification a strong part of Costa Rica Call Centre culture.
Richard holds a bachelor's degree in Communication and Spanish from the University of Arizona and a certificate of language proficiency from the University of Sevilla, Spain.
He was a keynote speaker for Philadelphia's Abington High School 68th National Honors Society induction ceremony.
And in addition, has been inducted into the 2023 Hall of Fame for Business. Giving back to Abington Senior High School is very important to Mr. Blank.
As such, he endows a scholarship each year for students who plan on majoring in a world language at the university level.

Today we are heading to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to chat with this week’s guest, who is a prolific creative fiction writer in his spare time, Mr John Leister.
I mention spare time intentionally as John works full time as a security guard, yet incredibly has managed in the space of just 4 years to publish in excess of 100 books. Let me do the math for you. That’s 25 books a year, 1 book every 2 weeks – aside from the writing John does the entire process himself from design, artwork, editing, and publishing. So, I think you will agree when I say that by any standards this is phenomenal, and naturally you will hear us unpacking more on this during our conversation.
According to John, his journey prior to 2019 and the current writing blitz, was much less fulfilling.
Suffering for cirrhosis, overweight, addicted to sugar, lethargic and spending way too much time on the couch, led to him hitting an emotional rock bottom.
Despite reading a raft of self-help books, John’s real the turning point came after he reached out to God. And as they say the rest is history.
Today John is active, healthy and nearing 40 years working security.
He’s very active on Facebook – not sure when he finds the time to read other writers or engage on social media but somehow he does.
TEAM ET, I think you get the idea by now that whatever you set your heart, mind and gut can be manifested in your behavior and this continues to be the case for John.

Today we're heading to one of my favorite locations in the US, Boston, Massachusetts to chat with an endearing and dynamic young woman, Miss Annie Margarita Yang.

Today we're heading to Utah in the United States and a little south of Salt Lake City. In fact, we're heading to the city of Saratoga Springs on the Northwestern shores of Utah Lake, visiting Mr. Tom Applegarth.

Today we’re staying put in the UK and visiting the coastal city of Southend-on-Sea, located in Essex, and we’re meeting up with our addiction counselor Luke Worsfold.
It’s an important episode as Luke and I unpack the challenges faced by what research is suggesting is affecting a growing number of people – and that is substance abuse and drug addiction.
When you hear Luke’s own story you will learn that he speaks from first-hand experience, with his mother struggling with addiction throughout her life. She was in and out of rehab and prison, and her drinking progressively worsened until she passed when Luke was 10.
Luke himself embraced drugs during secondary school as a means to find solace and escape.
Becoming an entrepreneur and forming his own company, he soon found that the stress and pressure of running the business fueled his addiction, and his life quickly spiraled out of control.
Living in denial, it took a brutally honest comment from his mentor and friend that forced him to confront his addiction and seek help.
Through various avenues, including AA meetings, therapy, and personal development seminars, he ultimately discovered addiction therapy. This proved instrumental in addressing the root causes of his addiction, helped him to feel his emotions again, and raised his awareness, thus helping him to recover.
Today, as a successful entrepreneur and specialized counselor, it’s Luke’s mission to help others to win their battles with addiction. His journey taught him the importance of self-awareness, emotional healing, and the power of choice, and he strives to inspire and empower others to reclaim their lives.

Brandie is a self-proclaimed industry agnostic, and as you'll hear shortly, throughout her career has not only held senior roles across multiple industries where she had no background. But with each transition moved into higher office. In early 2021, Brandie joined the primary care within NHS in general practice as the Chief Executive Officer highlighting that leadership is leadership and cuts across all sectors.
Prior to the switch to primary care in NHS, Brandie was managing director at Marco Pierre White Restaurants cementing her 20 years of experience in consumer service delivery industries across hospitality, retail, and aviation.
Before her MD role, Brandie held senior leadership positions in British Airways, Tesco, Whitbread, Travelodge, and Hilton Hotels, where she started her career as a graduate trainee and worked her way up.
A true trailblazer, Brandie was the first female MD at MPW Restaurants, and as of 2020, was the first black female MD within branded restaurants across the UK. She's presently the only black female CEO within NHS primary care.
Brandie has been named as one of the top 15 BAME high fliers in travel and tourism, and nominated in multiple other British Business Awards plus has been voted as one of the top 50 listening leaders.

After working 50-plus years in the corporate world, and being a maximizer, she loves to bring out the best in people. She's passionate about helping others find their joy, helping them repurpose their unique talent, experience, knowledge, and values into their defined sparks so that life becomes an effortless, priceless expression of themself.
For most of her life, Sharon felt invisible. And when she retired, wondered how she'd know if she was being productive. Today, at the young age of 75, Sharon is a motivational influencer. Her days now feel right since finding her spark.

Today, we're heading back to Santa Fe, New Mexico in the United States to visit one of the early professional coaching pioneers, Mr. David Goldsmith.
David’s mission is to grow the quality of coaching and leadership worldwide. That's a big audacious goal.
David's also a senior partner of the Goldsmith Group, he's the founder and executive director of 7 Paths Forward, which is a training organization for coaches, where he partners with Mr. David Peterson.
In the early 1990s, David worked closely with Thomas Leonard on the Coach 100 concept and served as the first president of Coach University. Yes, that's more than 30 years back.
And during that time, he and Thomas founded the International Coach Federation, commonly referred to today as ICF, which is the leading coaching certification body for the global coaching profession.
As well, David was one of the first to attain from the ICF, his master-certified coach and board-certified coach credentials.
He later went on to lead coach-inc.com through its expansion as well as co-founding with Ruth Ann Harnisch the Foundation of Coaching, which later became the Institute of Coaching at Harvard, furthering the profession's commitment to research.
As coaching spread globally, David was invited to Japan to train the country's first coaches, and he worked closely with the Japanese groups, Coach 21 and COACH A to establish coaching in this part of Asia. His client list reads like a who's who of the business world, and today his focus is primarily on working with executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs.

Our guest today is Mr. Sanjib Nandi. Sanjib hails originally from India and lived in London for a period before settling in Berlin, Wisconsin, in the States.
His journey so far means that he's able to bring a unique perspective to the table, a blend of both eastern and western cultures and medicines. Sanjib combines his knowledge of psychology, physiology, pharmacology, and the mind-body connection to produce a vibrant and practical approach to healing and human vitality.
During our conversation today, we turn our focus to wellness as an approach to leadership.
We'll be discussing connections between the brain and the body and how meditation impacts. We'll also touch on other important well-being factors to perform in parallel to meditation and how these can be combined to benefit leaders.
Sanjib's created an app called Luvo, L-U-V-O. This is an interesting development that brings a unique design to help people improve every area of their lives by adopting healthier habits. Luvo has an integrative approach to meditation and connects it with other powerful habits like water intake, exercise, cold showers, sleep hygiene, mindset, and energy flow.
LUVO leverages the growing research about electric and magnetic fields in the body that suggest changes in vibrational frequencies may affect us in ways that potentially benefit our health. In addition to being a father, working as a pharmacist, and developing apps, Sanjib is also an author and music composer.
He wrote a book in 2021 called The Man with Zero Talent and the lyrics for an album called Rise From the Ashes. Both of these speak to his philosophy and zest for life. Sanjib's passion is to share his journey and help others live healthy, fulfilling life. Le-an is on a mission to help 10,000 entrepreneurs grow remotely, and 1 Million Filipinos work from home.

This week we are beaming all the way from the Texan city of Houston, although, our guest originally hails from the South American city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Which, not coincidentally, is also home to the famous family that our guest had the good fortune to be introduced to at a young age, and he's never looked back.
Professor Leonardo Xavier, who's often referred to as The Wizard is a world-renowned martial artist and the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee, Leonardo Xavier is a former multiple times Jiu-Jitsu world tournament medalist, a Pan-American champion, and Brazilian national champion, and fifth-degree black belt professor in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, with over 25 years of teaching experience.
Nowadays, he teaches the physical and mental aspects of Jiu-Jitsu to people from all walks of life, from corporations to leaders and celebrities.
His teaching has also reached the highest levels, having served as Rickson Gracie's assistant at seminars worldwide, and recently being recognized as a 2022 International Martial Arts Instructor of the Year.

Can you believe that we have hit the end of 2022 already? Incredible! Our planet seems to be spinning faster each year around that little star we call our Sun. BTW I’m wondering why our ancestors chose the name SUN – maybe if there are some budding Astrophysicists out there, they could let me know.
Well, there are two reasons why I’m flying solo today – the first is I wanted to say a special thank you to all our listeners for making 2022 so memorable for me and the ET project team. This year as I’m sure you have heard me say, we decided to cut the corporate cord and get serious about building our company Skills 4 Executives.
One division of this company is Coaching 4 Companies and that is the area of business we are placing most energy right at this moment, but it also sits closely with and feeds our Facilitation and Education divisions.
There has been so much activity in C4C in the past 6 months that it’s difficult to pinpoint any one shining moment, however, I do wish to acknowledge those that nominated and voted for me which led to me receiving the CEO Today 2022 Executive Coach of the Year award in November. Truly honored thank you. At the end of this recording, I’ll speak a little about what lies ahead for our business in 2023.
The second and very important reason for today’s episode is that we are at the end of our 2nd quarter for this show The ET project podcast and as we did at the end of Qtr. 1, we’ll be recapping the Qtr. 2 guests that graced our presence, looking at some of the pearls of wisdom they shared with us along the way.

Born in Shanghai to a low-income family, Tiffany has maintained two lofty professional dreams:
- the first is to reach the top of the corporate ladder and become a person of success.
Having nailed this one she has turned her attention and focus firmly on the second which is,
- to become a self-made entrepreneur and a person of value.
I’ve spoken with Tiffany on multiple occasions and as you will also hear in our conversation about her career story and rapid rise up the corporate ladder, I can imagine it won’t be long before this target is also achieved. And in her own words – she is well underway.
Tiffany started as an English teacher in Shanghai, and by age of 36, had been appointed as Vice President of a 41 billion Euro company with 100,000 employees.
Her hard-working ethics, focus, and clarity of purpose, materialize in her leadership ideas that are both practical and based on firsthand experience. The learnings acquired throughout a diverse personal and professional life are now being transferred in her coaching to clients, worldwide

In our episode today we continue our epic adventure, this time stopping off in Athens, Greece. A city of sentimental meaning for me as it’s where I proposed to my wife, proclaiming her as Goddess APS against the backdrop of the Parthenon. It’s also home for our guest Mrs. Zoe Fragou.
Mrs. Fragou is an Organisational Psychologist with an MSc in Human Resources Management, holding a clinical psychologist license, a diploma in Business Coaching & Mentorship, and a Certificate in Agile Leadership.
At this moment, she is a Ph.D. Candidate at Panteion University and her research is mainly focused on the psychometrics of corporate culture.
Alongside Zoe’s academic interests, she is operating professionally in the full spectrum of her science, taking over projects of culture transformation, employee training and development, business coaching, personal branding, public speaking, and writing, for both private and corporate clients globally.
She is a mentor for Women on Top, a feministic organization trying to bring equality in the workspace, a senior member of the Hellenic Institute of Coaching, and was voted best career coach in the Global Coaching Conference of 2021.
This is an important conversation as we tackle the darker side of leadership. In fact, 3 personal characteristics are referred to in psychology as the Dark Triad. I was first introduced to Gordon Tredgold’s work through his book “Leadership – it’s a marathon, not a sprint” some years back and I have followed him since then.
When the opportunity arose for Gordon to be a guest on the ET project, I was particularly happy as it presented the chance to discuss with him not only his perspectives on business and leadership but also to connect through a common passion in sports.

Many times in life, things happen unexpectedly and, on some occasions, with positive outcomes. The chance meeting and subsequent friendship with Mr. Vidusha Nathavitharana is a great case in point, and I’m reminded of the quote, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”
This gentleman who has appointed himself the “Destiny Architect” of his company, High 5 Consultancy, is a true gentleman, scholar, and successful entrepreneur. And as you will repeatedly hear during our conversation, he has an incredible sense of humor but understands how to mix business and pleasure.
Maybe this blend was not always evident, as Vidusha’s father pointed out during one discussion. "The problem with you is that you take yourself more seriously than taking your work seriously. Take your work seriously. Don't take yourself seriously."
Only the other side of the coin, Vidusha considers disciplining something that he brings to his parenting, his study, and his professional career. “I am strict, by the way. I make no bones about this. I do tell my kids that, to me, discipline is fundamental. Being able to focus on something is fundamental, and being well-mannered and values-driven is fundamental. Those are not things that are up for negotiation.”

In our episode today, we travel through cyberspace to Copenhagen and speak with a senior partner and board member of the Implement Consulting Group, Mr. Henrik Horn Andersen. Mr. Andersen has over 20 years of experience as a management consultant and primarily engages in large change projects in private and public organizations. As mentioned, Henrik has extensive experience in managing change projects and facilitating workshops.
