These recordings are the result of several months of hanging around together in college by in the mid 80's with my friends Bill Partsch, Scott Swartz, Dave Tedeschi, and Tony Kotero. All the recordings were done on a cassette 4-track recorder, so enjoy the hiss! We wrote and recorded all of these songs together in our basement and dorm rooms. I recently found the recordings and thought I'd share. Aside from some mixing issues, I think they still sound pretty good and bring back some great memories for me! The limits of a 4-track recorder are unknown to you kids nowadays! Once again, enjoy...no EMBRACE the HISS!

Track #13 from "The Secret Elephant Playground". Lyrics by Bill Partsch and music by Scott Goodhart (me). I found some of Bill's lyrics laying on the floor in our rehearsal room and made a recording. I'm glad he liked it! It went through many changes from the original recording I made and this was the result!

This is actually the second time we recorded this one (the first being with The Secret Elephant Playground Mark I) I played rhythm guitar in that one, but incorporated my guitar part into the bass part.

Our blues tune, This one features Tony Kotero on Sax. I love the solo section of this tune as it sounds like seedy Sam Spade detective music.

Bill has a way with words. I loved how he played with Old McDonald E-I-E-I-O. Dang some of these tunes were deep. This one features Tony Kotero on Saxophone with a trademark glissando coming out of the solo!
BTW, the modulation down a step for the solo was my idea! LOL.
