On June 2, 2013, Chikara ran an angle at the conclusion of the companies iPPV, where the event was shut down by Chikara's Director of Fun. Following the event, Chikara went inactive, "cancelling" all upcoming events, though in reality these events were never scheduled to take place. On February 1, it was announced that Chikara would be returning on May 25, 2014.
