This podcast discusses the merger of or revealing of the unity of life and art drawn from a forthcoming book I’m writing called Life Art. It discusses the theoretical underpinnings, history. people and influences associated with the daily and sometimes life long practice of living life as art where everyone is both art and artist creating, co-creating and consciously collaborating with the world, the Universe to establish happy healthy fulfilling lives. Join me on this adventure of a lifetime as we individually and collectively unpack what it means to actually be art!
This is me, Jon Keppel, reading from my book The Art Flame. FYI This book was published in 2018. My thoughts and feelings have expanded since then. We are all always in a continual process of growth and maturation. I just want to affirm and reaffirm here that I have the utmost respect for what I call conventional art or art for exhibition. That is, in the end, what helped inspire me to write these words. Since writing this I have tapped into a humility further coming to connect with Love and peace and an even deeper level celebrating all art equally. This book was made from a certain perspective at a certain point in my life. I still believe that there is tremendous value in it and a forward seeking nature that is in the end a very, very good impulse. I had to reflect on the nature of being in order to move forward in my life and so that took bringing into question some of the pillars and platforms of the art world in order to do that. I believe we should value all art. Thank you. Jon Keppel 12/9/23

A Loving wish to share the teachings of life art as they have been revealed in my own life. Gratefully. Humbly. 🪷🦋✨
This is made from a more mystical standpoint but with a resounding resolve in personhood and the dignity of being alive!
This is an informative and heavily inspired contemplative training for the earnest student of life.
This episode talks about how life art practice can bring you to a way of life that you truly love and that loves you!!!
In this I talk about what life art can be like lived. Also, life art as bridge between life and art. It is light and open hearted and with a sense of humor. A potential art site or life art institute that I have thought about is something called AKA standing for both Also Known As and Awareness, Knowledge and Art. I talk about grocerying and eating as life art. Also, meditation as a key to practicing life as art. Formal and informal practices are discussed.
In this talk I share a special reminder for you. Perhaps we share our Self! There are just some things you know. Teaching others to think for themselves. Apprehension about something we call the art market. Democratization. Cosmic understanding. Organizing ourselves cosmically. Libraries are a really phenomenal livelihood for an artist like me!!! Serving people through customer service in conjunction with artistic thinking. Being your own visionary. Transformation. Service as art. Serving people as art. Find your voice and use it! Create a vehicle for your truth. Have your heart drive it!!!
From the heart. Art life for me means working at a library doing art as service. Considering life art as a technology that helped me come back from a terribly debilitating mental illness. The idea and lived practice of becoming the whole tree of life, a whole person, descending with roots in the ground of being and ascending with branches far and wide into the light. A whole person artist! The idea of helping others by sharing reflections and documentation of living life as art. Podcast as an open journal that works in conjunction with the blog, the social network and website. Briefly my FRONT 2922 submission is mentioned with it not being accepted. Kindness. Fellowship. Research. Academic journals. And on writing to others known and unknown in the art world and just in life in general.
In this episode I touch on the books I have written and how they intersect with my own personal experience with mental illness and Depression. I talk about how I have ultimately had the opportunity to overcome that ailment and live anew, sharing stories about things that have helped me heal and move forward.
In this episode I begin talking openly about the mental illness I personally went through and put positive energy out into the world about dissolving stigmas related to mental health. I also talk about the power of knowledge, learning/education and order drawing on the living inspiration I experience through a love of libraries and working in a library, the power of community, family and friends.
This is a very brief overview of the work that I have been doing and how it is done, also how it is ripe for engagement with others and just a starting point for others to develop their own trajectories of inquiry.
This episode is an honest and open acknowledgement of achieving what it is you have been after all your life. Learning from other people’s work. Everyone has genius! Passionately seeking your highest Self. Co-creating with the Universe. Living from Love! All is Art. Considering the hard problem of consciousness. You ARE what you have been seeking!!!
This episode is a brief update on what’s available through my work. Making this podcast is the Joy of my life! Starting as a Life Coach. Lots of good content on the website www. jonkeppel.com. Welcome to join the social network I host called The Life Art Gathering at The Art Fire. Welcome to join the newsletter. Sending loving energy out into the Universe!!!
In this brief episode I unpack the possibility of sharing in multiple ways what it means to be living!
Living however you feel called to live. Transcending the word art. Limitless living. Being present in the infinite eternal. Higher frequency through meditation, prayer, reading, learning. Connecting to one’s own Source energy , the I am at our core being. A new way of working. It’s always going to be art to a certain extent but moving towards expansiveness!
In this episode I speak of current day life work getting in sync with the ideas and issues of the day while speaking of others who have influenced me and who I hope can be of help to you too or at least inspirational towards finding people who you constructively resonate with!
In this episode I talk about limitlessness. A review of the principles and narue of the life art experience as I have lived it. Leading into integrity. Meditations. Letting go of the word art but keeping the essence while going into limitless living. Remain open and honest and stay true to your truest values. Keeping and art a viable option. New chapters in life.
In this episode I take my longest venture yet into podcast world to unpack and share secular revelations that are opening the way for me in my life. I share this work liberally to offer thoughts to engage with that are right-minded and blessed.
Peace…inspiring energies, in your best interest harnessing the infinite eternal now, the power of “I am” in us all. A wish for the energy essential to realizing dreams. Blessings
In this episode I speak from the heart about life art, living and the future of libraries! Also the power of libraries. Letting go of the life art terminology. Applying for TED. Fellows. Saying yes to your unknown! Growing, knowing and loving. Embodying the power of love with a simple goodness.
This one I unpack a ton inspiring you to do the same. To the vital essence we all share! This episode talks about vitality, life long learning, and living a true life. It talks about a new kind of community center. Life art practices. Best life practices. THE COMMUNITY CENTER OR ART SITE AS A PLACE OF ACTIVITY where people are just as much the art as anything else, with public art shows, meditation classes, mindfulness classes where everything is about making and being. Bringing ourselves to life as communities and a global community. At the center there could be life coache, nutritionists and therapists. Something I experienced called the artist as entrepreneur institute of Akron Ohio has helped me in formulating all this. This for me has been about going beyond branding. Life art in this regard is a new term in the English language not a business.
On this episode I go on a journey of the heart and mind and invite you to come along ultimately as a part of your own journey! It is a message that we all have all within us! Character is not built on the tops of mountains as it has been said but rather in the valleys and on the sides during the climb. Become your own north star as the Universe itself, You are just here be and be the full you. Just be the Universe. Harness character. The goodness that you seek is the goodness that you are. We can help nature as nature itself living life as art. It is about the power of becoming. This is life art. Letting the Universe flow through us!
These are some wrap up thoughts about how Life Art and art/life practices could emerge as focal points for undergraduate and graduate programs and also how new initiatives, programs, organizations and institutes could emerge focusing in on life art and art/life practices. Others who have worked on or are working on life as art are mentioned such as the Fluxus movement in the 60’s, Joseph Beuys in the 70’s, relational aestheics in the 90’s, Marina Abromovic in the 00’s. Being itself is discussed as the art of our times. Brainard Carey, artist and educator is mentioned as relating the idea of art/life practices as a possible sphere of practice specifically sharing Elizabeth Munro who describes who own work as life art! Laura Hollick is mentioned who related that we are all art and artists ourselves in her TEDx talk. The idea of life art as a movement is mentioned.
In this episode I discuss how Brainard Carey and artist Elizabeth Munro use the terms Life Art and art/life practices.
Unpacking intro to what ideas episodes will cover. In this episode Jon Kabat-Zinn is mentioned along with his idea of awarenessing. TED (technology, entertainment and design) the establish non-ptofit for idea sharing is also and its role in helping to inspire this podcast is mentioned. Notions like DNA editting, life on other planets and string theory are sparjed along the way. The podcasts named Mindscape by Sean Carroll and After On by Rob Reid are recommended! Continuing gratitude and belief are shared along with an open call to folks to come and explore these themes dealing with consciousness and life. A wish of peace is expressed as well.
In this episode I recap my understanding of my take aways from Derek Rydall or really just a few of many!
This is the beginning of an ongoing deep dive within the theme and heart of my forthcoming book titled Life Art.
This is just a first fun splash into this domain of podcasts for me. I really truly hope you get something or a lot of things out of it. This is for you as much as it is for me. Take care.
