Stevie Asks Too Many Questions: Recent Episodes

Stevie Swift

Stevie asks questions about the bible and shares possible answers. WARNING: If you are looking for black and white answers on what something means, what you should believe, or how you should interpret what you read - this is not the podcast you were looking for.

If you are looking for a peak at one curious Jesus follower's journey, then you've found the right place.

In Season 1, I'm asking questions from Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John. In every season, I'm seeking Jesus and more Jesus.

If you love it, leave a review!

Hey hey! Hope you're week is going well. This podcast is me doing a little analysis of something that got a hair trigger response from me - I explore why it bothered me and what my reactions says about ME. It was really helpful for me to go through this little process out loud, and I hope there is something in here that is helpful to you as you follow Jesus!

What does this mean? That we can't own things? That we need to be willing to not own things? Or something else entirely? Exploring possible meanings for this bit of scripture this week. If you hear a strange beeping in the background on this one - I'm sorry! I found a fix for this so it will be gone next episode

There is a funny background noise on this one and there will be on Episode 8 as well - I'm not sure what it is, but I'm going to fix it before recording Episode 9

I meant to read the book of Mark every day for 7 days, but missed one! In six days of reading I had a TON of questions because I'm me, and 5 of those had some fun little tidbit answer-ish things I thought would be fun to share. This podcast is a compilation of just that! I do hope you like this one. If you are enjoying my podcast, will you share it with a friend who might like it too?

Why didn't they recognize Him? Did he look different? Did God shut their eyes? Did their own unbelief shut their eyes?

Stevie discusses multiple takes on this question in almost under 15 minutes ;) Plus enjoy my new intro music, created by my son, The Magnificent B.

Last week I asked about Matthew 6:22 and Luke 11:34 -  if the eye is HALPOUS, the whole body is full of light - what the heck does that mean.? That’s episode 4 if you want to go back and check it out.  Last week’s episode, like all episodes really, involved me reading a lot of words about this verse.  For this particular bit of scripture, there is quite a variety of perspective and I found so many great quotes.

I decided I wanted to share some of those with you as an extra little bonus episode.

If you'd rather read them on your own, they're HERE IN THE SHOW NOTES POST.

If you'd love printable versions of the quotes, those are also HERE IN THE SHOW NOTES POST.

If the eye is [good/healthy] then the whole body is full of light, but if the eye is [bad/unhealthy] then the whole body is full of darkness. Jesus said this and it's recoded the same way in both Matthew and Luke, but what does it even mean? I'm asking that question this week. I hope you enjoy the possible answers. Do you have 18 questions about the Magi in Matthew 2? I spent A LOT of hours asking questions and pouring over possible answers about these Magi. I present you with pretty darn close to 15 minutes of those answers distilled into what I found the most interesting and relevant. You can find links to all the things I talked about in the show and read some or all of those in your own study time in my show notes post here.

If you are enjoying this podcast please subscribe! I also appreciate reviews so much and of course share with any friends who might love these episodes. I'll be back in two weeks to ask about what the heck it means that "If the eye is good the whole body is good and if the eye is bad the whole body is evil?"
