We have a tough time trusting. We tend to not trust others. We tend to not even trust God at His word. We always expect more from God. We expect Him to work miracles. We expect to have awesome experiences. We think that if we just do things a certain way then people will believe. When the rich man was in Hades he begged Abraham to send someone from the dead so that his family would believe and be saved. However, seeing miracles and having an awesome experience does not create faith. Only the word of God through the work of the Holy Spirit does one come to faith and is truly comforted.

Lectionary Series C - Proper 19 (Luke 15:1-10)
Sermon reflections: sharing thoughts after the sermon to keep the sermon in our thoughts and in our hearts throughout the week.
How does salt become salty again? Once it has lost it's saltiness it is worthless. Jesus then tells the parable of the lost sheep, lost coin, and the prodigal son. It all centers around restoration and renewal. Restoration can only be found in Christ and His cross because through faith in Him are we restored to righteousness. Our saltiness is restored through repentance where we return to the fold, the money bag, and the Father. This is only done through Christ's death on the cross where He won the forgiveness of sins. His righteousness is credited to us through faith, which is a righteousness we do not have because of our sin. Our saltiness is restored! (Luke 14:34-15:10).

How are we supposed to read and understand our Bible? There is so much that can be misunderstood and misinterpreted. Having good principles to interpret the Scriptures is helpful to come to a right understanding of the Scriptures. That helps open the door to understand the Scriptures more fully and to keep it all about Jesus. In this video we will discuss what those good principles are and why we use these principles and not others.

5 Ways You Can Build Confidence Sharing Your Faith
Many people want to share their faith with someone else. They want to have faith based discussions. However, this can be intimidating to some. We are all fearful of judgment. We don’t want to offend people. And we don’t want to be offended or judged for sharing our faith either.
But there are ways that we can build our confidence to share our faith. If we take little steps to help build our confidence and take little steps that let people know we are Christian, and take these steps even with our Christian friends, then we will be more comfortable confessing our faith to those who need to hear the Gospel most.
