Before we begin, I want to take a moment to reflect on the life of Mollie Tibbetts, a young woman whose light touched everyone she met. Mollie Cecelia Tibbetts was born on May 8, 1998, in San Francisco, California, and raised in both San Francisco and Brooklyn, Iowa. She graduated from BGM High School in 2017 and was pursuing a degree in psychology at the University of Iowa, driven by her dream of becoming a child psychologist to help children struggling with mental health issues.
Mollie loved life, and it showed in everything she did. She excelled in writing and speech, sharing her thoughts on complex topics like mental health and self-esteem. She made friends everywhere she went, and children adored her. She worked at a summer camp where her laughter and warmth left a lasting impression. She was a runner, a dancer, an actor, and a singer. But above all, Mollie was a young woman filled with kindness, ambition, and an undeniable joy for life.
In July 2018, Mollie disappeared while on an evening jog near her hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa, sparking a massive search effort that united the community and drew nationwide attention. Sadly, her body was discovered weeks later.

The following are the closing arguments, verdict and sentencing from the penalty phase of the trial, where Jacob Cayer opted not to attend. If you listened to the last episode, you’ll recall that he was found guilty of all charges. The prosecution brought in a psychiatrist to evaluate Jacob Cayer for an NGI (Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity). Interestingly, the defense used his testimony to their advantage during the penalty phase, arguing that Cayer was likely suffering from schizophrenia
Although Jacob Cayer decided not to be present for the closing arguments of the penalty phase, he did participate by phone during the disposition hearing, where his sentence was finalized.

One night in 2021, Christine's life was changed in the most horrific way, when a man and a female accomplice terrorized her first in her car, then in her home.
The following is the trial of Bradley Yohn, who decided to represent himself, and in doing so, made a mockery of the court system.
A month after the attack, Christine, who also went by Tina, lost her life.
The pain, indignity and fear Christine faced is nothing short of shocking, listener discretion is advised.

In this episode of Crimeatorium, we explore the life and tragic outcome of Suzanne Maria Rossetti, a young woman whose future was cut short by an unsettling encounter. Born on May 3rd, 1954, in Saugus, Massachusetts, Suzanne was the daughter of Peter and Louise Rossetti, known for their hardworking and honest family values. Along with her siblings, Peter Jr. and Donna, Suzanne was recognized for her bright intellect and strong desire to attend college, inspired by the example set by her parents.
Suzanne’s life was full of potential and happiness until one night in 1977, when two men, posing as “good Samaritans,” introduced themselves to her in the parking lot of a local convenience store. This encounter would forever change her life.

In the end, Bundy would confess to killing 30 women, but he is suspected of killing many more. The detectives ask Bundy about Melissa Smith whose father was the police chief of the town I grew up in, Midvale, Utah. Melissa and her family lived 5 miles from me and my family and she was my brother's friend. Carol DaRonch was kidnapped just 5 minutes from my house from the mall my friends and I hung out at all the time. My sister worked at that mall when Bundy was committing his crimes in Utah. One night a Volkswagen beetle followed her from work and left when she walked in the house. She believes it was Bundy. My mom drove her to work from that time on.
The night before his execution, which was carried out on January 29th, 1989, it has been reported that he wept and prayed throughout the night.

Today we will be taking a look at the case of Rachael Anderson. Rachael was born in Warren, Ohio on January 28th, 1994. Warren Ohio sits alongside the Mahoning River which extends for approximately 113 miles it is also the headquarters of Top Shelf Coffee, family owned & operated coffee roaster that serves local factories, restaurants and coffee shops, mostly in Ohio.
Rachael was a 2012 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, where she played in the band, played soccer and volleyball, she was also in the National Honor Society. Rachael earned her Bachelor of Mortuary Science Degree in 2016 at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and was on track to become the funeral director at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home,. in Columbus, Ohio.
On Saturday January 27th, 2018, Rachael along with her younger brother John and some of her friends were celebrating her 24th birthday. The following night, Rachael Nicoletta Anderson was robbed of her money, her car, and her life in the most brutal and barbaric way imaginable.

Twenty eight year old Gordon Church was a kind and gentle young man. He was born in the small town of Fillmore, Utah with a population of 2,592 as of the 2020 census. He was a college student at Southern Utah State College, or SUSC for short, in Cedar City, Utah, the site of The Utah Shakespeare Festivaland is now Southern Utah State University. A chance meeting at a convenience store in 1988 turned into a terrifying and deadly night for Gordon and a case full of twists and turns that is ongoing to this day.

Ame Deal should have been a thriving and happy 23-year-old, and instead, her legacy is one of heartbreak and suffering. Ted Bundy Confesses....Genuine? Maybe. Vague? Yes. Manipulative? DEFINITELY!
In the end, Bundy would confess to killing 30 women, but he is suspected of killing many more. The detectives ask Bundy about Melissa Smith whose father was the police chief of the town I grew up in, Midvale, Utah. Melissa and her family lived 5 miles from me and my family and she was my brother's friend. Carol DaRonch was kidnapped just 5 minutes from my house from the mall my friends and I hung out at all the time. My sister worked at that mall when Bundy was committing his crimes in Utah. One night a Volkswagen beetle followed her from work and drove away she walked into the house. She believes it was Bundy. My mom drove her to work from that time on.
The night before his execution, which was carried out on January 29th, 1989, it has been reported that he wept and prayed throughout the night.

Twenty eight year old Gordon Church was a kind and gentle young man. He was born in the small town of Fillmore, Utah with a population of 2,592 as of the 2020 census. He was a college student at Southern Utah State College, or SUSC for short, in Cedar City, Utah, the site of The Utah Shakespeare Festival and is now Southern Utah State University. A chance meeting at a convenience store in 1988 turned into a terrifying and deadly night for Gordon and a case full of twists and turns that is ongoing to this day.

Ame Deal should have been a thriving and happy 23-year-old, and instead, her legacy is one of heartbreak and suffering. Child abuse can take many forms, and the bystander effect may cause us to believe that what happens within another family is ‘not our business’. In reality, it is everyone’s business to call out abuse and contact authorities, whether you are a mandated reporter or not. Ame was treated differently from her siblings by the entrusted adults in her life, culminating in one of the most disturbing instances of child abuse and murder I’ve ever covered.

The investigation into 9 year old Erica Baker’s disappearance had been anything but straightforward. There were twists and turns at every avenue, ever-changing statements and the small community of Kettering, Ohio was forced to face a harsh reality. December 10th 2004, should have brought an end to the case, but despite getting a confession, Erica’s family and the detectives that worked the case are still left with unanswered questions.

Twenty nine year old Tiffany Moss stood trial on April 15, 2019 for the 2013 death of her 10 year old stepdaughter, Emani Moss. Emani’s father, Eman Moss, did nothing while Tiffany systematically starved, neglected, and abused his daughter, and later helped to cover up the murder.
Emani was described as a precious and happy child who always had a smile on her face, by everyone that knew and loved her. At age three, she studied ballet and when she was 5 years old, she took guitar lessons. She did everything in her power to escape her abusive situation and was removed at one time, but was returned time and time again. My heart goes out to her and all of her loved ones.
The details of this case are disturbing and graphic and involves heinous crimes against a child. Discretion is advised.

Thirteen year old Cynthia Coon was your average teenager from the 70s. When not attending Forsythe Junior High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Cynthia, or Cindy, as she was affectionately known, could be found in her room listening to music or hanging out with friends. January 19th, 1970, was set to be a typical day for the Coon family. In the early morning hours, Cynthia left for school, but she would never return. Fifty three years later, her family and friends are still left wondering what happened to Cynthia.

Today we will be taking a look at the case of Rachael Anderson. Rachael was born in Warren, Ohio on January 28th, 1994. Warren Ohio sits alongside the Mahoning River which extends for approximately 113 miles it is also the headquarters of Top Shelf Coffee, family owned & operated coffee roaster that serves local factories, restaurants and coffee shops, mostly in Ohio.
Rachael was a 2012 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, where she played in the band, played soccer and volleyball, she was also in the National Honor Society. Rachael earned her Bachelor of Mortuary Science Degree in 2016 at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and was on track to become the funeral director at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home,. in Columbus, Ohio.
On Saturday January 27th, 2018, Rachael along with her younger brother John and some of her friends were celebrating her 24th birthday. The following night, Rachael Nicoletta Anderson was robbed of her money, her car, and her life in the most brutal and barbaric way imaginable.

Today we will travel to Saint Sulpice, Switzerland, the home of 6-year-old twins Alessia and Livia Schepp, who were lively and bright little girls. They were exceptionally close and you never saw one without the other. In 2011, Alessia and Livia disappeared with their father, Matthias Schepp. What would transpire would become one of Europe’s most bizarre missing person cases. There are many twists and turns in this case, and it’s hard to discern the truth, from fiction. The next case takes us to St. Joseph, Missouri, the home of 15-year-old Ashley Renee Martinez. Ashley was your typical teenager. She loved dressing up, having sleepovers and hanging out with friends. Ashley took pride in her appearance, and by 2004, she was in the 8th grade at Robidoux Middle School in Missouri. One sunny July afternoon would change the course of Ashley’s life forever. Who did she meet up with, and why did she disappear?

Five year old Alexia Reale lived with her mother and stepfather Barbara and Larry Carrasco in Elk Grove, California along with her older sister Jessica. I reposted this episode because Temujin is still languishing behind bars as an innocent man. Temujin has spent more than half his life robbed of his freedom, his health is not good and he is not receiving the medical care he needs. Please follow the call to action below, and help the ongoing effort to get him out of prison and with his wife Paula, where he rightfully should be.
Temujin Kensu was 23 years old, when he was sentenced to life in prison for a crime he could not have committed. The shooting and murder of Scott Macklem occurred on November 5th, 1986 on the campus of St. Clair Community College in Port Huron Michigan. No DNA, hair fibers, murder weapon, or footprints were found on the scene, there was an ammunition box with latent fingerprints on it that didn’t belong to Temujin. Temujin has never owned a shotgun.

Deloris Mae Siddall was admired for her talent and beauty, she participated in national roller skating competitions in the early 50’s and won many awards. Tragedy cut her life short and 61 years later, it is unclear exactly what happened to her or where she is.

Delaine Achermann didn’t think twice when on July 24, 2009 her husband of 56 years, Peter Achermann, got into his car to run a few errands. It’s been thirteen and a half years and Peter’s whereabouts is something that she and her eight living children, along with other loved ones, think about daily .

Gwen Vivian Miller didn’t show up for work on Leap Day, February 29th, 1968. Gwen was 60 years old, had no children, and ran the pharmacy at Bennett–Clarkson Memorial hospital, now known as Regional West in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Despite her independence, though, Gwen was in declining health and had a history of medical complications due to her diabetes. So, when she didn’t show up for work, two co-workers, thinking she may have gone into insulin shock, went to her house at 3901 Hall Street.
Inside, they found Gwen dead in her bed and it appeared to them that she had died in her sleep.

This is a remaster of the case I covered in July of 2020. Hulu did a mini series called Under the Banner of Heaven based on the story of the murder of Brenda and Erica Lafferty.
At the time this happened, I lived only 5 miles away. This case was huge in Utah and I remember clearly the fear of not knowing where these two men were hiding out. I often looked out my window into the foothills behind my home, and wondered if they were there.

On May 2nd, 2001, Mary Jean Pearle dropped Faith 6, and Liberty 9, off for their weekly visit with their father. Even though they didn’t want to go, Wednesday was his visitation night as stated in the divorce decree. Their father John Battaglia, was a man who had a long list of domestic abuse charges on his record and he was looking at some probably jail time several days following this visit.

Temujin Kensu was 23 years old, when he was sentenced to life in prison for a crime he could not have committed. The shooting and murder of Scott Macklem occurred on November 5th, 1986 on the campus of St. Clair Community College in Port Huron Michigan. No DNA, hair fibers, murder weapon, or footprints were found on the scene, there was an ammunition box with latent fingerprints on it that didn’t belong to Temujin. Temujin has never owned a shotgun.

On Monday the 22nd of December 1997, a motorist was driving near Monticello Utah along U.S route 491, when he noticed a white stuffed bear lying in the road. He quickly turned his car around to get a closer look. As he got closer, he saw a blood-soaked coat lying at the side of the road, and what appeared to be drag marks in the snow leading off into the brush and undergrowth.

Five year old Destiny Norton went outside to play in her yard. She had just taken a bath and was wearing her mother’s black and gray t-shirt and no shoes or socks. She hadn’t been playing long, when 20 year old Craig Gregerson, a neighbor of the Norton's, was alerted by his dog barking prompting him to look out the window, when he did, he saw Destiny playing outside in the adjacent yard.

Back in 1994, an 18 year old woman walked into a medical clinic in McHenry, Illinois seeking help. Her mother had just died, leaving her all on her own, with no other family to turn to. This young woman was cognitively impaired and vulnerable, living on the streets, alone. At the clinic, she met a 54 year old registered nurse named Linda LaRoche. LaRoche recognized right away that this young woman was impaired and took her into her own home in McHenry, a suburb of Chicago. LaRoche told her that she would help her get her high school diploma and provide her with room and board, what she asked for in exchange, was for her to be a housekeeper and a nanny to her children. This young woman has a name, Peggy Lynn Johnson. She had no way of knowing that she was about to lose her dignity and freedom in life and her identity in death. This is the story of the Racine County, Jane Doe.

This is the tale of the many child disappearances and murders in Los Angeles county starting in the early 50’s and continuing until 1970, It is believed that one person is responsible for placing his selfish and deviant desires above everyone else and tearing these children away from their loved ones. Each child was someone’s daughter, son, sister, brother and friend. Each one mattered, each one made a mark, each one deserves to have their story told. Most of the details in this case are 50 years old or older, so there are differing versions of what transpired. I used the version of events that were reported most frequently.

It was November of 1997 when Georgia resident, Joni Betterson, retrieved a handwritten letter from her mailbox. It’s contents were chilling. Once she realized who it was from, she was taken aback as she hadn’t heard from her son Jarret and daughter in law Barbara in over twenty years. The letter read, by the time you read this we should be dead. Jarrett is about to go to jail and I don’t want to live without him. I’m sorry about living apart from our family. I’m sorry about so many things. We’ve had a sad and difficult life. Also included was a money order for $900 to pay for the couple’s cremation with instructions to be placed in the same urn.

On the evening of January 6th, 2007, Channon and Chris met up at the Washington Ridge apartment complex in Knoxville, where Channon’s friend Kara Soward lived. The plan was for them to go to dinner and then to a friend’s party. Chris was late to arrive and Channon was sitting in the driver's seat of her white, Toyota 4 Runner waiting for him. Chris stood at the open door of the vehicle and the two were exchanging kisses with one another. There’s no doubt that Chris was trying to smooth things over with Channon about being late. These blissful, priceless moments were interrupted without warning, and what would follow, there’s only one word, unimaginable.
