Today I’m joined by the awesome Chris Kennedy and Tom Woods.
Chris and Tom are old friends and co-founded Kennedy Woods Architecture about 8 years ago.
Apart from fantastic architecture, Chris and Tom have a particular interest in sustainable development and helping businesses deliver social impact.
We have a great chat about their story, why social impact is so important to them and how this all fits in with being a B Corp.
They help me to understand some of the behind-the-scenes work involved in architecture and development and why community engagement and contribution is so important.

Today I’m joined by the awesome Augusta Vivian.
Augusta is the founder of Higson. They’re a consultancy that works with businesses to help them optimise performance through investing in their people and team culture.
They do this in three main ways, running bespoke training workshops, sharing insights with leaders and giving teams the tools and structures to embed the training.
As you’ll hear, Higson are incredibly purpose-driven and prioritise people and the planet in everything they do, they’re the real deal and set a great example to all businesses.

Today I’m joined by Laura Harnett.
Laura is the founder of Seep, a fantastic company that produce a wide range of high quality, planet friendly, compostable household cleaning products.
We’ve all heard about the catastrophic affects that micro-plastics and chemicals used in cleaning products are having on the health of us and our planet but to be honest with you, until now I didn’t really know what I could do about it. I’ve tried using natural cleaning agents like lemon juice and vinegar before but it’s just not that practical or convenient.
I’ve only recently discovered Seep but I’ll definitely be using them from now on and once you listen to this podcast, I'm sure you will too 😀.

Dr Kelly is a consultant cardiologist and lifestyle medicine physician. I’ve known Dr Kelly and have been following his work for a number of years and he is fantastic.

Whilst he has a huge amount of experience and knowledge in treating and preventing illness and disease in patients, his message is straightforward, easy to understand and simple to implement - Look after yourself people and here’s why and how.
In a world saturated with health and fitness influencers trying to sell the ‘next big thing’ in wellbeing, Dr Kelly is a breath of fresh air because he’s not trying to sell us anything, he genuinely just wants to help.
We have a great chat about the science and practicalities of lifestyle medicine and discuss why things like gratitude, stress management, creating habits and reducing inflammation is so important.
We also discuss how businesses can educate, support and empower their employees to adopt simple health and wellbeing interventions, which will have numerous benefits for both the employee and the employer.

Today I’m joined by Ross Eldergill, Ross is Head of Performance, Development and Engagement at The Gym Group.
We’ve been working with The Gym Group for nearly a year now and I’ve come to know Ross pretty well, he’s a top bloke who’s passionate and extremely knowledgeable about what he does.
The Gym Group are one of the largest and most recognisable gyms in the UK.
Their rapid growth hasn’t been an accident, they invest heavily in the learning and development of its people and Ross is leading the way.
I have to apologise for the poor sound quality of this episode, Ross had to record it in the noisy office. As you can imagine, he’s super busy and I’m very fortunate to get an hour of his time so re-recording it anytime soon wasn’t an option.

Today I’m chatting to Sam Peters
Sam spent the best part of 20 years as a sports correspondent for media sources such as The Times, The Mail on Sunday and News International, amongst others and was shortlisted for the Cudlipp Prize and Sports Journalist of The Year in 2014.
Rugby and cricket journalism is Sam’s speciality and he spent years campaigning to raise awareness and encourage change to help reduce serious injuries sustained by rugby players, especially head injuries.
Sam has always had a love and appreciation for nature and the great outdoors and in recent years founded Planted, a sustainable events and media platform promoting nature-based design.
Sam and I have a great chat and I get to learn so much about the reasons he started Planted and his upcoming event, in partnership with the National Trust at Stourhead, in Wiltshire.

As well as working with us here at Outliers Wellbeing, she’s also the mental health and wellbeing manager at the Football Association.
I’ve had the privilege of working with Jenn on a few large employee wellbeing and leadership programs over the past year or so.
It’s been fantastic, I’ve personally learnt so much from her and I know the businesses she’s worked with and the employees love her.
