What if there is a better way? A way to be smarter, stronger, and faster. A path that ensures our greater safety and security. A means to make an impact. There is. Tellabs Optical LAN is a better way to build and operate networks.

Listen to this podcast to hear how Tellabs Optical LAN is smarter, stronger, faster, safer and more sustainable.

First, let’s talk about Smarter. As an IT pro, you can work smarter and do more with less with an Optical LAN. Next, how about Stronger. The network strength is measured by it not breaking. Optical LAN can increase network uptime. Faster. Optical LAN offers greater network speeds such as 10 gigabits and Optical LAN has a graceful path to 25, 40, and 100 gig speeds over the same fiber infrastructure. Now let’s talk about Safer which ties to Security. With Optical LAN you only have one door to lock, one device to harden, to do software patches, and one management access to protect – it’s a smaller attack surface with a Zero Trust Architecture. Finally there’s Sustainability. Optical LAN is proven to be environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and require less space for floors, racks, risers, pathways, and telecom rooms – that less materials and natural resources consumed. Clearly, Tellabs Optical LAN is a better way to build and operate networks.

The workplace is changing. Digital transformation is hitting us like a tidal wave. If that crashing wave was 10’ tall, then the post global pandemic adaptations in the office have increased the speed and impact of the wave 10 times.

How do you adjust enterprise networks in a manner that lessens business disruptions and protects IT investments? In particular, how do you overcome Wi-Fi design challenges to minimize what IT pros struggle with daily like, Wi-Fi coverage map changes, increasing bandwidth demands and cloud-based controller reliability.

Watch this video to see Tellabs FlexAir (the combination of Optical LAN with Wi-Fi APs and cloud-based controller) can help by delivering more flexible design options, multi-gigabit Ethernet, multiwavelengths, simplicity and better network reliability.

We know that businesses are currently being negatively impacted by IT professional talent shortage and skillset gaps.

Making matter even worse is the accepted fact that humans are a leading cause of security breaches and network outages. This can be the result of malicious and negligent activities. These actions can be both intentional and unintentional. Regardless, their consequences on business reputation, financial and legal are exactly the same.

This sounds like tough occupation and no doubt these dynamics are very disruptive to businesses. Here are a few of the struggles that I’ve witnessed while working with companies of all sizes and across many verticals, such as shortage of talent, aging of technical workforce, siloing of technology and the moving to higher level management.

Workplace challenges for IT and Network [personnel will continue to disrupt businesses. The traditional switch manufacturers will continue to throw more technology and complexity at the problem, which only aggravates the IT staff shortage and skillset gaps. The better way to build and operate networks is using an Optical LAN design. OLAN’s passive architecture ultimately simplifies underlying network and directly improves operational efficiencies, security plus reliability – a welcomed relief for IT and Networking professionals.
