Hailing from the UK, Phil and I met in the US many years ago working for a youth football coaching organisation. Since then, Phil has coached in a few countries, for a number of clubs and finds himself currently coaching and as Academy director in Alicante, Spain.
We talk about the reconciling his own coaching philosophy with that of the club and the cultural differences he experiences in his current role whilst ultimately using coaching as the vehicle to develop people as well as players.
