Power Perspectives: Recent Episodes

Power Perspectives is a collaboration that was born from the narrative team meetings held between the various media entities housed within Pillsbury United Communities; The Policy and Narrative Team, Pillsbury House and Theatre, North News and KRSM Radio. During one of these meetings Community Storyteller; ShaVunda Brown had an idea to create a show where she would engage in conversations around the city with community organizers, activists, artists and politicians about ways in which they built power, be educated on the history and current happenings in the city and ways in which community could take an impactful stance building their own political and personal power in the process and share self-care practices that sustained them in this heavy work. As brainstorming continued at the following narrative team meeting Andrea Pierre presented a long held idea to have a political morning talk show on the KRSM radio station she manages, something that was missing from the station that could be meaningful and informative and suggested that the Community Storyteller; ShaVunda Brown could host it. The stars aligned and Power Perspectives was born and had its first live broadcast September 7th 2021.
