Crissa, Garrett, and Nathan sit down to reflect on what an incredible year this has been and to also do what we talked about in last episode and just say "thank you" and celebrate all God has done through the amazing guests we've had join us for some great moments in conversation and also to simply ask you, our listener to pray with us as we look to the next season and whatever God is calling us to with the podcast.

What happens when we say "Thank you"? We believe it not only helps us out of a scarcity mindset, but it also, and most importantly unlocks a whole new level of generosity because it awakens us to the power of God through the incredible gifts He has given to us. Garrett, Crissa, and Nathan draw on Paul’s letters to see how he gave thanks for and prayed for those he was in ministry with.

The scarcity mindset is real, y'all. Whether we grew up with little and desire to protect what we have today or no matter what we have, it's never enough, be it time, energy, money, friends, support. The story of the widow's mite helps us see what it means to live with open hands, trusting God for everything, knowing His abundant love, grace, provision through His Son Jesus is all we really need.

Contentment is a key component to becoming generous, but it's something attainable only through Christ, which Paul points out in Philippians 4, a verse so many of us have read and quoted not realizing the lesson Paul shows us in that passage. Garrett, Crissa, and Nathan sit down once again with Hawah Brown who returns to the podcast to share her heart with us.

Garrett, Crissa, and I dive into a key takeaway from a conversation between Jesus and a rich man, something so easily missed, yet something that changes everything and how it affects our motivation in walking out what Jesus tells the rich man what he must do to inherit eternal life.

Asbury Church Pastor of Discipleship and Family Ministries shares his heart with us behind a new teaching we're starting this week about the process of going from being grateful to becoming generous. Furthermore, our desire is to experience that process within the context of community, where we are ALL all in and seeing what God does.
We continue our conversation with Mary Dale Venegas, as she shares about awakening and honoring each other. We also took some time to reflect on this great conversation together.
Some conversations are harder than others, especially those with aging parents, as we want to honor them every way we can in the midst of life's challenges, from health to finances to making plans. Mary Dale Venegas, Nathan's mom shares with us what life is like these days and what it means to take every opportunity to live every minute with God's fame and glory in mind, to celebrate His kindness, and to lead with grace in helping your family honor you well.
We continue our conversation with Clint and Amy Talton about facing disappointment. Be sure to catch part 1 if you haven't yet!

Life rarely, if ever, goes the way you thought it would. And sometimes we experience disappointment when life happens. When it does, does it cause you to run from or be drawn towards God? Returning guests Clint and Amy Talton join us for "tea" and share with us for a two-part episode about disappointment. Don't worry, you won't be disappointed. Well, except for that last line. That was kinda disappointing.

Money is fun if you have some. But if we're being honest (that is, those of us listening to a podcast) we really do have all we need, and then some, right? Like a lot. How would we live our lives if we flipped the script and paid more attention to all we have been given to take care of?

Now that we've reached 30 episodes, it's been good to just look back at this first season with a heart of gratefulness and a sense of awe at all God has done through this podcast. God has shown His goodness in so many ways, so we wanted to take a moment to really celebrate that as we look forward to season two, starting in a couple of weeks. See you then! "In Christ & Christ Alone", written by Jackson Rohweder and Amy Rochelle Demint
When we know who we are, we much more readily, willingly and knowingly get involved in the fight because we also know we belong to the Victor. So it's imperative that we pray for awakening in our kids to the reality of their identity in Christ. We're talking about spiritual warfare, so we sat down with none other than Hawah Brown to talk about warring for your kids and teaching THEM how to go to battle for their families, friends, schools and whatever else they have going on in their lives.

What does it mean to pray for your city? In Daniel chapter 9 it meant a prayer of confession, repentance, Godly sorrow, and awakening for his people, his generation. He prayed in the same way as Jesus on the cross, taking on the sin of the world, though he was a man living an awakened life, aware of God’s presence and calling. For us, praying for our “city” can also mean praying for our families or those placed under our care. We’re thankful for Robin Scott who, in the midst of great shoulder pain, shares great wisdom for how to pray.

Our first ever LIVE episode is in the books! We had a blast having conversation over lunch with everyone who joined! We can't wait to do it again. One quick note, we did have some technical difficulties with the audio (I know, I know. We had one job, right?). Nathan takes full responsibility and will do better next time! But the thoughts and insights from so many are all worth it. They also show how much we need to carve out more time for community!

What is the narrative you're allowing to guide your life? Is it life's circumstances or the truth of God's word? What blueprint are you using to build your life on and where did you get it? We all have a formed opinion or view of ourselves based on what we've heard from other sources and voices. It really matters who all we trust with the microphone used to speak into our lives. We sat down with our new friends Clint and Amy Talton who very recently connected with the family at Asbury, mostly because of this podcast. How cool is that?

Garrett, Crissa, and Nathan talk about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three young men under Daniel's influence who boldly stood up to King Nebuchadnezzar with resolve, not bowing to the king's statue. The knew God could protect them from death in the fiery furnace, but even if He didn't, they would never bow because they understood who and whose they were. They belonged to and obeyed none other than Yahweh. Who do you have in your life that is a safe place and with whom you can stand and who will stand with you in the fire?

When you read about Daniel, you find quickly how much he truly must have grieved. Watching the fall of his hometown, the destruction of the temple, being taken from his family to Babylon, learning a new culture, it's difficult to fathom everything he went through. Pentecostal living is all about allowing the Helper, the Holy Spirit guide every aspect of our lives and helping the next generation live into that as well. We sat down with Megan Simpson from our college ministry and prayer team to hear about her "Yes!" and how she's been obedient in investing in the Kingdom of God. We begin this series talking about prosperous living, a concept that has had a history of misinterpretation, especially from the pulpit. We dive deep into more of what the writer of Proverbs, King Solomon truly meant by living a prosperous life. We also get into some "real life" as well as what it looks like to not be the "home team" when it comes to Kingdom life on earth.

Just as the men on the road to Emmaus were finally awakened to the resurrected Jesus when He broke bread with them, we too can experience a deeper awareness of Jesus when we celebrate Communion together. We sit down with Emily Ishee, Associate Director of Asbury Church College Ministry to talk about how, as Easter people, Joy is a deep well we experience that no one can take away when Jesus is invited into every aspect of the journey; the good, the bad, the frustration, the disappointment, the fear, AND the joy. Where is joy? What does joy look like? And how is joy lived out in the midst of tragedy, deep pain, and disappointment? We sit down with Tommy Gray and take a look at the resurrection, this time with a focus on Simon Peter, who thought all hope was lost, convinced he would be defined by his worst moment, denying he knew Jesus three times in the courtyard. Joy is a man running toward his second chance.

Happy Easter and welcome to the Full Life Conversations podcast! Hear a quick word from Nathan to welcome everyone in, especially any first-time listeners after our Easter services, and hear a couple of clips of Garrett and Crissa from upcoming episodes.
What's the difference between being saved and becoming a disciple? The cost. We sit down with guests and Asbury Residents Rochelle "RoRo" Rohweder and Austin Miller to talk about the long game, their experience going on mission in Costa Rica and what it means when Jesus says "put a hand to the plow."
Prayer is something God meant for us to do all the time. But what does that even look like? How do we truly live that out every day? We're joined by Tommy Gray once again to talk about being consistent in prayer and what that could mean for our lives and those around us.
Are you available? We sit down with special guest, Davis Wenzler to talk about staying connected and how much that requires our availability to God and others, which leads to awakening.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! This episode has nothing to do with St. Patrick's Day, the day on which this dropped. But if you'd like, put on something green, sit down with a bowl of Lucky Charms, and enjoy Part 2 of Staying Constructive.
Nathan, Crissa, and Garrett sit down with Dr. Robin Scott to talk about being people who build, not tear down.
Nathan, Crissa, Garrett and Tommy are back to dive into the parable of the good Samaritan and talk about what it means to have compassion.
Nathan, Crissa, Garrett, and return guest, Tommy Gray talk about staying calm, the first of a series of conversations during the season of Lent about living a life of surrender.
“How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes." We conclude the Road of Awakening teaching series with Jesus weeping over Jerusalem after His triumphal entry. There's nothing like leaning into community to process something as heavy as this passage, sensing the gravity of our propensity to miss Jesus, but also grasping the hope of God's incredible and deep love for us and the power of the Holy Spirit to move us into an awakened life.
Why does a donkey get so much "air time"? Crissa, Garrett, and Nathan look at the significance of the donkey in Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
Nathan and Crissa sit down with Seedbed author and New Room Conference Executive Director, Dr. David Thomas, as he shares his heart for prayer and his journey on the Road of Awakening.
Lead Pastor, Dr. Tommy Gray shares what awakening means to him through a powerful story from his childhood.
Nathan, Garrett and Crissa sit down with Asbury Church Lead Pastor, Dr. Tommy Gray to explore what seeing like Jesus means and how we can have Him in our house and yet, still miss an encounter with Him.
What does Jesus say about loving our enemies? What did those hearing these words of Jesus think? Based on a sermon from Asbury Teaching Pastor, Garrett Howell, he and Pastor of Missions, Crissa Letson discuss our deep need for the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit in order to be Jesus to those in our lives who are difficult to love as well as how we can do this in the context of community.
Based on Garrett Howell's Mobile Worship message from Sunday, January 15, he and Crissa Letson go deeper about how we can learn from Jesus about how to handle rejection.
Garrett Howell, Crissa Letson and Callie Scroggins further explore awakening. Garrett paints a picture of what happens when discipleship is passed down the line, and the potential for much of what the 1st generation experienced as disciples to have been lost over time, causing an increasingly shallow discipleship, illuminating our need to recapture what has been lost and more deeply engage in living an awakened life.
Callie Scroggins, Crissa Letson, and Garrett Howell talk about how Jesus handled temptation, knowing who He was, whose He was, and why He was here.
This is a brief introduction to the Full Life Conversations podcast where we talk about real life with each other, full life with God, and Kingdom life on mission. Producer and host of the podcast, Nathan Venegas shares some "real life" as well as some of the story and the "why" behind the podcast. Asbury Church Pastor of Missions, Crissa Letson and Director of College Ministry and Teaching Pastor, Garrett Howell also talk about awakening, which is the theme of the first seven full episodes, based on the teaching series, The Road of Awakening, written by Garret and Crissa.
