About Rebecca Mora and Gut Gal:

Gut Gal was developed over a lifetime of education and hands-on experience. Truly, it all started in Rosarito, MX while she was working as an Alcohol & Drug Detox Counselor, manager and fitness trainer. This position enabled her to embrace the ever changing situations that arose regarding nutrition, fitness, detox, holistic modalities, Stem cell therapy and ancient medicine. Following that experience, she opened a retreat for patients with cancer. Her retreat provided healing modalities, nutrition, cooking classes and counseling. After my high risk pregnancy and the birth of her beautiful daughter Camila, she developed Thyroid cancer. Rebecca was offered a Health Coach position with Health Secrets following my personalized Cancer detox recovery protocol. As a Health Coach, she realized her passion to further her education by becoming a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP). Rebecca had a deep desire to share her natural gifts in therapeutic counseling and absolutely loved what she did. While studying as a HHP, she created the name Gut Gal because all signs, symptoms and disease start in the gut.

There are times in our life when we feel uncomfortable doing the right thing because we fear judgment. But always remember to do the right thing even if it means losing or being uncomfortable as a result of your decision.

In this episode, I shared the backstory of how I came up with the title of this episode and my beautiful memories with my grandparents. I also shared our experience in visiting my daughter’s grandmother and I meditate using the scripture when Paul says “never get tired of and weary of doing what is good, doing what is right.”. In our week-long visit with my in law I saw how children can see and understand our actions as an adult.

With this story, we see the power of owning up to our mistakes and asking for forgiveness. It will also remind us that conflicts and misunderstandings are bound to happen, but it's important to handle them with grace and humility. Admitting our faults and asking for forgiveness can be difficult, but it can also lead to healing and growth. By doing the right thing, even when it's hard, we can set an example for those around us and make a positive impact on their lives.

When faced with difficult decisions, choose to do what is right. Come and join us with this wonderful episode!

Highlights & Resources:

  • My memories of spending time with my grandmother and grandfather
  • Our visit with my daughter to see her Nana

  • How children can see and understand when parents are trying to do the right thing.
  • The struggle of doing the right thing

Have you ever established a goal for yourself and failed to meet it? When it already feels like a never-ending loop, and you're still not seeing any results or changes.

In this episode, I discuss my experience with the book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, how the book came into me and my husband’s possession through a friend, and how reading it prompted me to consider the importance of changing my mindset to maintain consistency. I reflect on the idea that sometimes God offers us gifts, and it is up to us to decide whether or not to accept them, and how even small changes in our habits can significantly impact our lives. I also shared my journey in making these tiny habits that have modified my routine and ultimately brought me closer to achieving my goals.

The message conveyed by reading this book is that by making consistent, intentional efforts towards our goals, we can achieve them with time and patience, and that the journey towards them may only sometimes be smooth. Still, with motivation and perseverance, the goals will eventually take care of themselves.

Be motivated, inspired, and encouraged through this episode. Join us!

Having a kid later in life is no small feat. It could instill fear in a woman and affect her physically, emotionally, and mentally. It could also be one of the most beautiful times in a woman’s life! Geriatric pregnancies require a more focused community in which to learn, grow, connect, and receive support as women embark on this wonderful journey of parenting.

This is the very reason I created this community and podcast for women like me who got pregnant at a glorious age. I am Coco O’Connor, a mother and a career woman. I grew up in a family where I don’t see my father very often and at the age of 10, my parents got divorced. I met my husband at an early age, and lost my mom quite early as well. These experiences gave me the idea that maybe marriage and having children is not for me. But God has other plans.

In this very first episode of the Vintage Mama Podcast, I will share my vision to become part of your vintage journey of parenting. Today, I will talk about my why’s, the goals and vision for Vintage Mama Podcast. I’ll talk about our delight when our daughter Quinn came into our lives. I’ll also share that no matter how “late”, dreams still can come true.

If you are in a life changing moment of pregnancy and parenthood later in life, I am here with you!

Highlights & Resources:

  • Welcome to the Vintage Mama Podcast
  • Growing up in a broken family
  • How I met my husband and got married
  • Our journey from Hawaii to Los Angeles
  • My mom’s last Christmas with me
  • My why’s and the vision of starting this community for vintage mamas
  • We are not the same, we have different situations compared to younger mamas
  • Things I want you to have and learn from this community of vintage mamas
  • My daughter Quinn inspires me to focus on songwriting
  • Before you become a mother, you have career first
