The Drop the Weight Podcast focuses on teaching biblical wellness principles to help you drop the weight emotionally and physically so that you can live healthy from the inside out. Hosted by @kathrynrosemay, a certified mental health and Christian Weight Loss Mindset Coach, this podcast focuses on weight loss mindsets to support you on your journey to better health so you can stop dieting and start thinking for weight loss that lasts.
Lies are sneaky—they sound logical, familiar, even true. One day they’re just thoughts passing through your mind, and before you realize it, they’ve become the filter through which you see yourself, your calling, and even your relationship with God.
In this episode we're getting real about how to identify the lies you’ve been believing, why they keep you stuck, and how to replace them with the life-giving truth of God’s Word. It’s not about trying harder or repeating empty affirmations—it’s about renewing your mind, letting truth take root, and walking in lasting freedom.
You’ll hear my own experiences of battling thoughts like “I’m not enough” and “My voice doesn’t matter," and how these limiting beliefs form the invisible foundation that shapes how we lead, love, and live—plus how God gently uproots those lies to replant truth that restores peace and purpose to our lives.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
Behavior modification can’t heal the soul—it’s root work that sets you free. When you identify the belief system driving your actions, you can finally let God heal the root instead of trimming branches that keep growing back.
|“You can’t heal what you don’t reveal. Freedom begins when you name the lie and invite Jesus into the garden of your heart to replace it with truth.”|
If you’ve been battling self-doubt, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or that constant sense of never enough, this conversation will speak straight to the parts of you that crave rest and restoration. You’ll walk away with practical tools and biblical truths to help you:

Discover why constant rushing is draining your soul and how to walk at the peaceful pace of Jesus
Hurry doesn’t just fill your calendar—it drains your soul. If you’ve ever found yourself exhausted but still striving, wondering why you can’t slow down no matter how hard you try, this episode is for you.
Today, I’m uncovering three reasons why a hurried mindset is actually slowing you down, stealing your joy, diminishing your ability to lead well, and crushing your confidence in Christ. We’ll explore how rushing leaves you anxious and reactive, why it chokes out prayer and intimacy with God, and how Jesus modeled a completely different way of living—never hurried, always present, steady in purpose.
Along the way, I’ll share simple but powerful practices to help you release the weight you were never meant to carry, renew your mind in God’s presence, and begin walking in peace that actually lasts.
If you’re ready to stop rushing through life and start leading with presence and purpose, this episode will give you the tools to break free from hurry and embrace the rest your soul has been craving.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
Simple mindset shifts and spiritual practices to release the weight you were never meant to carry
Romans 8:37 – “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”These verses remind us that hurry is not the way of the Kingdom. God’s peace is our inheritance when we choose stillness and trust.
“You can’t live in a hurried soul and live fully in the Kingdom of God at the same time.”

Life in a broken world is full of suffering, grief, and unanswered questions. But what if God has more to teach us in the middle of the pain than in the absence of it?
In this episode of the Freed to Lead Podcast, I sit down with author and banker Daryl Potter, who has walked through decades of personal loss while raising a daughter with severe health challenges and supporting his family through unimaginable trials. His story is raw, real, and deeply rooted in Scripture. Together, we explore how the books of Job and Ecclesiastes reveal God’s heart, even when life feels unfair, and how hope can be found in places we least expect it.
If you’ve ever wrestled with questions like “Why does God allow suffering?” or “How do I keep faith when life hurts?” — this conversation will remind you that God is still good, still sovereign, and still with you.

Identity theft isn’t just financial—it’s spiritual. The enemy works hard to convince us that we’re less than, unworthy, or unloved. And if he can steal your identity, he can keep you living small, weighed down by lies and limiting beliefs. But the truth is, your identity has already been secured in Christ—and no one can take that from you.
For years, I believed labels like unlovable, unwanted, unseen, and not enough. Maybe you’ve carried similar words too. But when we begin to root ourselves in who God says we are, everything changes. In Christ, you are chosen, forgiven, loved, and free. You are not defined by your past, your mistakes, or even the whispers of the enemy—you are defined by the One who calls you His.
In this conversation, we’ll talk about what it looks like to recognize the lies, renew your mind with Scripture, and reclaim your true identity in Christ. Because once you know who you are and Whose you are, you can finally live with confidence, purpose, and freedom.

We live in a world where screens are everywhere — in the grocery store, at the park, even around our dinner tables. Technology tied to us has become the new norm, but at what cost?
In this episode of Freed to Lead, I sit down with Shannon Coulter, founder of Planet Fasa and author of the children’s series The Fasa Tales, to talk about how technology is shaping our kids and stealing more than just our time. Shannon shares why she walked away from corporate America to help families rediscover the joy of play, imagination, and healthy rhythms.
This isn’t about going screen-free — it’s about creating a new way forward. We dive into the divisiveness of our “devices,” what constant scrolling is doing to our creativity (and our kids’), and practical ways to build freedom into your home so you stay connected to the right power source.
If you’ve been longing to renew your mind, reclaim your time, and raise confident, Christ-centered kids who aren’t bound by devices, this conversation will equip and encourage you to live sharpened, not dulled, by technology.

Eat this, not that for easy weight loss is all about healthy food swaps, starting small and working on your mindset! It all starts in the mind anyway really. We're diving deep into the topic of healthy food swaps for easy weight loss and the idea is that you don't actually have to give up all the foods you love (that don't love you back), right away. Full life overhauls in a day don't usually last so, why not try something new. I've found on my weight loss journey that making small changes makes a huge difference in my weight and waist line. For instance, when I cut out soda, yes even diet soda, and swapped it for Seltzer water like Polar Ice...I lost 10 pounds. AND MY JOINTS SAID THANK YOU! I'm giving you my favorite food swaps today and don't worry, they won't make you feel like you're going on a diet. You'll feel better fast, decrease inflammation, gain mental clarity, and have more energy naturally! No more caffeine overdose. Today we're diving into who we are in Christ at the foundational level. If you don't know who you are it's going to be easy for the enemy of our soul to convince us of a false one. If you're asking the question "Who am I?", this episode is for you. If you want to know who you are in Christ and your value, this is for you. Woman of God, stand and fight for your identity and don't be a victim of identity theft. You have a real enemy who is seeking to kill, steal and destroy. Take it back! Cancel the lies with truth, the truth of the Word of God over your life. If you're thinking.....🤔 "I read about being a new creation in Christ, but why don't I feel transformed?"🤔 "I want to stand firm in my faith and identity, but doubts keep creeping in."🤔 "I know I’m supposed to find my identity in Christ, but I often find myself seeking approval elsewhere."🤔 "I often feel like I'm failing as a Christian because I struggle with the same issues repeatedly."🤔 "Shouldn't knowing I’m a child of God make me feel stronger and more secure?"🤔 "I'm supposed to be a conqueror in Christ, but most days I barely feel like I'm surviving."It's time to take back what the enemy has stolen in your health! Hey friend, Have you ever tried losing weight with diets? Weight watchers, Keto, Nutrisystem, HCG, Brightline...whatever it was, how'd that work out for you?
Not so great? Ya, me to.
I was in the same boat trying to get "healthy" by focusing on my weight as the factor to determine whether or not I was.
What I really needed was a mindset overhaul but there's only so much energy to go around, especially when your starving yourself on DIETS.
I probably lost the same 50 pounds over and over again for years until I finally took a different approach that was unlike anything I'd tried before.
Along the way I realized I was an emotional eater and that I had made some really unhealthy, self-sabotaging agreements with myself about who I was in Christ and as a person in general.
I prayed, listened, cried, prayed some more...continuing to "fail" for a while until one day I realized I was 60 pounds lighter and I hadn't actually DIETED! No way! What happened?
1) I stopped dieting so I thought I was failing when I ate anything "off plan".
2) I focused on my mindset and soul care first verses body image and external changes. I realized that small changes over time compound and lead to really huge results over time. Not QUICKLY, but they do happen.
I want to invite you to experience this same type of lasting change; transformation really. You're invited to try out the Biblical Body Plan Online Course for FREE where we dive into mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health in an easy to digest way that leads to a whole, healed and healthy life inside out.

The new year is usually when a lot of people and ministries call a fast. Sometimes it's a 21 day, and other times its simply a 3, 5 or 10 day fast. But, for some fasting can trigger a feeling of deprivation, restriction and starvation which leads them to struggle keeping a fast, obsessing over the scale during a fast or even gaining weight by binge eating after the fast is over. Mindset is everything here! Fasting for religious reasons is not a diet or weight loss program. It is a time to step back and focus on growing closer to the Lord and putting off distractions, consecrating your time to God and killing the flesh (or at least quieting it for a time). It's important to know there are a few ways you can implement and mindsets you need in order to make fasting more enjoyable and less triggering. Today, I'm talking about those. I am starting the Daniel Fast this month with Joshua Giles Ministries (they're doing a fruit and veggie only fast), and today I'll share with you how to do the Daniel Fast in a nutshell with a great Bible Study resource to help you get started right on your Holy Bible App!📚 Serious about your health transformation? Dive into my proven system, The Biblical Body Plan, and follow the exact steps I took to get healthy inside-out! Watch the first two videos of the Biblical Body Plan Course FREE! https://www.biblicalbodyplan.com/freeintroCheck out the 40 Day Freedom From Emotional Eating Bible Study: https://linktr.ee/Katy_roseThe Daniel Fast Jump Start Devo on the Holy Bible AppUnderstanding the Purpose of Fasting: Fasting is undertaken for multiple reasons, including seeking God's guidance, knowing His ways, pursuing answers for life decisions, and drawing closer to Him. It's essential for the fast to stem from pure motivations and a sincere desire to seek God's guidance.Personal Reasons and Method: Each individual's reasons for fasting are unique, and so is the method they choose. Fasting does not always mean complete abstinence from food; it can also involve reducing calorie intake. The method and duration of fasting are personal decisions based on individual circumstances and goals.Preparation and Physical Considerations: Before starting a fast, it's important to consider your physical health and consult a doctor, especially for fasts longer than 24 hours. It's crucial to be mindful of your body's needs and not to fast to the detriment of your health. The Right Heart and Attitude: The success of a fast is closely tied to the condition of the heart. Fasting with the wrong motivations or as a mere ritual without genuine intent is discouraged. A fast should be a time of sincere reflection, prayer, and seeking God, not a performative act.Breaking the Fast Properly: When ending a fast, it's recommended to start slowly and avoid overindulging. The goal is to return to a normal eating pattern gradually, respecting the body's adjustment period after the fast.

"Truth Journaling" is a faith-based approach to renewing the mind and overcoming negative thought patterns, emotions, or behaviors. This method is often used in the context of emotional eating, but it can be applied to other areas of life as well. The idea is to confront distorted thoughts and beliefs by aligning them with biblical truths. In truth journaling, you start by writing down a troubling thought, emotion, or situation you're facing. Then, you evaluate that thought or belief in the light of Scripture, asking questions like:-Is this thought true?-Is it aligned with what the Bible says?-How can I see this situation from a biblical perspective?By examining and reframing your thoughts in this way, you shift your focus from worldly or negative viewpoints to one that is centered in biblical truth. The ultimate goal is to renew your mind in a way that leads to transformation, not just in your eating habits but in your overall emotional and spiritual well-being.Truth journaling will help you find inner healing and learn to manage emotions from a biblical perspective📚 Recommended Books and Resources:-"Freedom from Emotional Eating" by Barb Raveling https://amzn.to/44wNIUh-My Book "Behind Enemy Lies" https://amzn.to/3sybnX0🙏 Join the Revitalized Biblical Wellness Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/310718330630313

Even wondered, "Am I an emotional eater"? Trust me, I've been there too. It took me a while to realize that emotional eating had been a constant companion throughout most of my life. But today, I'm ready to unveil the truth behind emotional eating, sharing personal stories of triumph, and uncovering those hidden triggers that drive us to eat emotionally. It's time to break free from the cycle of seeking comfort in food only to end up feeling worse.
The key to overcoming emotional eating lies in our minds and in the Word of God. If you're ready to shed the weight of emotional baggage and truly heal, it starts with allowing yourself to feel those emotions and seeking solace in our Heavenly Father instead of reaching for snacks in the pantry.
Now, you might be wondering, "How can I determine if I'm an emotional eater or simply eating to nourish my body?" In this video, I'll provide you with some quick and practical ways to recognize the signs of emotional eating versus eating for sustenance.
But wait, there's more! 😉 Join me for an in-depth exploration of going from Struggle to Strength and unlocking the power of faith to take control of your eating habits. So, I had this kind of silly thought the other day: Does God love Kari Jobe more than me? I know it sounds a bit ridiculous, but it's a genuine question that crossed my mind, and I thought it would be interesting to dive into it together.
As Christians, we sometimes find ourselves thinking that God might favor those who seem to be doing amazing things in life more than He loves us. But here's the thing—it all depends on what we believe about ourselves.
Now, let me be clear, God definitely doesn't love others, not even Kari Jobe, more than He loves me or you. But in one fleeting moment, I had this passing thought that maybe God took extra delight in her for whatever reason. It's strange how these thoughts can creep up and make us doubt ourselves, right? But I quickly recognized it as a lie, and I know who I am in Christ. I mean, I've even written books on this very topic! Yet, here I was, doubting God's love for me and thinking He must love someone else better because of their accomplishments.
But here's the truth: God's love for us doesn't fluctuate based on our abilities or failures. He loves us simply because we're HIS. We were created by Him, in His image, fearfully and wonderfully made.
Let's unravel this misconception together and discover the freedom that comes from knowing our true identity in Christ. Tune in and let's have an open conversation about God's unwavering love for each one of us, just as we are. Because at the end of the day, His love knows no bounds, and we are more than enough in His eyes.

Stop trying to lose weight the worlds way. Why do you labor in vain when the way the world teaches weight loss only leads to failure, guilt, shame and defeat. I've been trying to do the 'dieting' things for along time and all my doing has gotten me nowhere, but right back where I started. So, I labored in vain a lot. Dieting doesn't work because when you stop dieting you haven't become someone different, you just look different and eventually you go back to doing the things you did before and gain it all back. Stop trying to lose weight and start dropping the weight of all the doing. God showed me a funny picture I want to share with you too that might have something to do with Eminem...yes the rapper, not the candy. Weight loss isn't about all the "doing", it's about the thinking FIRST! So, reset and center on the true north, which is the WORD of God.

Crush your weight loss goals in 2023, but don't buy the lie that crushing them will make you "NEW". The term "New Year, New You" drives me nuts, cause we get so stuck in that "all or nothing" thinking and it frustrates you when you aren't seeing the new you come out in a month. What if you changed up the phrase a bit and say "New Year, Better You"? Why not just take small steps to becoming the better version of YOU, not a new one. You will only be transformed by the renewing of your mind and not just by the pulling up your boot straps and starving!

Welcome to the Drop the Weight Podcast, where I focus on teaching biblical wellness principles to help you drop the weight emotionally and physically so that you can live healthy from the inside out. I’m your host, Kathryn May, a mental health and Christian Weight Loss Mindset Coach.
Each week we’re diving into weight loss mindsets to support you on your journey to better health and ensure your efforts last long after the diet ends.
As someone who’s been on the diet roller coaster for years, I’ve gained and lost over 400 pounds by focusing all my efforts on short term behavior modification that doesn’t last. I was the master of checking off the list of things to do for weight loss and following every plan to the tee only to find the weight creeping back on the moment I quit following the checklist.
I couldn’t figure out what I was missing in my weight loss journey in order to be successful….that was until I realized I hadn’t stopped to ask God what He said about it all. Once I submitted to take the time to discover the missing link, I’ve found lasting weight loss results without following fad diets or starting my diet every Monday. Consistency is not an elusive unicorn! It’s easy when you learn the principles for becoming someone who is healthy, versus someone who just does healthy things until they’ve hit a goal.
Weight loss that lasts requires self-evaluation and allowing God to show you the areas where you’ve been holding onto unnecessary weight in your mind. Dropping the physical weight is a by-product of releasing the emotional baggage you’ve held onto for far to long.
This Podcast will help you uncover self-sabotaging mindsets and behaviors that hinder your healthy weight loss goals. While there are things you need to do for weight loss, it won’t matter if you haven’t changed your mindset to maintain your results.
This is the #1 reason diets don’t work, because if they did, the diet industry wouldn’t be a 60 billion dollar a year industry with a 95% failure rate.
I can’t wait to dive into topics that include overcoming emotional eating, the secret to transforming your life inside and out, creating healthy habit formations that lead to consistent results and the amazing power of a mind submitted to Christ! Let’s stop dieting and start thinking for weight loss that lasts.
I can’t wait to share more with you soon and I’d love to invite you to go ahead and subscribe to the show and share it with a friend you love!
