When Soorpanakha describes the beauty she saw in Seeta, Raavana cannot contain his desire to kidnap her and keep her as his wife in Lanka. In order to do that, he would need a terrible plan and he approaches Mareecha for help! Despite his misgivings about a plan that would surely end in doom for Raavana, Mareecha agrees to the plan. Aranya Kandam is the third chapter of The Ramayana and it's here we start seeing some trouble brewing for Prince Ram, Lakshman and Seeta. After 10 peaceful years in the forest, they are visited by a rakshasi called Soorpanakha. She is a shape-shifter and has her wicked eyes set on the most handsome, Prince Ram. One of the greatest Hindu epics is The Ramayana. It tells the magnificent & thrilling story of Prince Rama, the 7th avatar of Lord Narayana. Ravana & Kumbakarna have started tormenting the Devas and people on Earth. At the same time, in Ayodhya, King Dasharath is desperate for a child to be the heir to his throne of the Kosala Kingdom. The Ramayana is a wonderful tale that teaches us about the pinnacle of human behaviour. The tale of Lord Rama is one that is beloved by all that listen! We start the tale with the birth of the four Princes of Ayodhya. Enjoy listening!
Lord Vishnu takes avatar's to protect people from not only the asuras that cause trouble but anyone that misuses their power! Parasurama is a Chiranjeevi that is a powerful Brahmin that showed the Kshatriyās that they couldn't get away with being terrible just because they had wealth and power! This Kathā is just one small part of the full story of this avatar because the stories about Parasurama can be quite extreme and likely inappropriate for little ears! Enjoy listening!

Not all asuras are bad! Prahlad's grandson, King Mahabali is an example of an asura (demon) that was in fact a kind and gracious leader. However, when greediness and arrogance take over, even a kind ruler can be trouble! The Vamana Avatar is a small story about a small Brahmin that takes BIG steps to remove arrogance. Enjoy listening!
