The Biblical Anarchy Podcast was created by Jacob Winograd as a project of the Libertarian Christian Institute, with the purpose of making the case for a free society and decentralized governance based on Biblical principles of limited authority and imitating Christ’s example of the leader/servant. If we render unto God what is God’s, we cannot bow down to Caesar or render anything unto him except that which he deserves. The podcast consists of exploring different Bible passages, anarchist theory, Austrian Economics, and finding the connection and harmony between them.

In this episode, we have my last Freedom Fest 2023 interview. This conversation was with Caryn Ann Harlos, Secretary for the LNC and host of the Pink Flame of Liberty Podcast. We had a conversation about the role of Christians in politics, and what parallels exist between Christianity and libertarianism. In this episode, we return to interviews conducted at the 2023 Freedom Fest convention. I sat down with two individuals who discussed their individual organizations in Texas and New Hampshire and their pitch for National Divorce - Texas/New Hampshire Independence. I asked questions based on what the common objections and concerns are to the case for complete State sovereignty from the Federal government, and explored what practical steps the organizations are taking to educate people and ensure their efforts are peaceful and based on libertarian principles.

In this episode, I had a conversation with Alex Bernardo of the Protestant Libertarian Podcast, a fellow LCI host. Alex has written a review of Stephen Wolfe's "The Case for Christian Nationalism" and presented his rebuttals in an article for LCI as well as a presentation he recorded for us to present at Freedom Fest this past year. After I finished the book myself and read Alex's review, we decided to sit down and compare notes, and dive into the key arguments for Christian Nationalism and answer what they get right, as well as what they get wrong.

In this episode, we are again airing an interview I did at the 2023 Freedom Fest convention. This interview was with Atheists for Liberty President Thomas Sheedy. He and I had never spoken before but were both excited to sit down and talk, to explore what we had in common, and to explore where we disagreed as well. We found that many of the criticisms we had about each other's worldview were at least understood or partially shared by the other, and we explored the potential ways - as individuals and also on an organizational level - that we might be able to work together to use our different worldviews as an advantage to advancing libertarian principles into the public arena. We walked away optimistic about the potential for libertarianism to be an uniting force that helps promote peace between all groups of people, including the religious and non-religious.

In this episode, we are again going to hear an interview I did at the 2023 Freedom Fest LCI booth - this time with Spike Cohen. Spike is the founder of "You Are the Power," a non-partisan non-profit organization with the goal to "empower people to work together to set our communities free, take the power away from government, and put it back in your hands, where it belongs." Spike sat down with me to have a conversation about Nationalism. LCI was at Freedom Fest to discuss Nationalism and Christian Nationalism, and I wanted to get Spike's perspective on these topics. Spike believes that nationalism can be a useful tool in pushing decentralization and pushing back against encroaching globalism and more centralization. Nationalism can become harmful, however, when it prioritizes the good of the collective over the good and rights of the individual, and when that happens, it becomes not only a threat to human flourishing, but a force that is in opposition to what God teaches us through Scripture. Listen in to hear Spike and I dive deeper into these topics and explain why the best people to count on for your freedoms and rights are never those with State authority.

In this episode you will hear three different interviews I did at the 2023 Freedom Fest Convention in Memphis, Tennessee. I sat down with Scott Horton, Kyle Anzalone, and Connor Freeman of the Libertarian Institute to pick their brains about what's going on with both Russia and China, and what the imperialistic goals are of the American government and military industrial complex in these still developing situations. Scott gives us a bird's eye overview of where we are as the anti-war movement and how libertarians are making an impact on the culture and national conversation. Kyle and Connor then help explain in detail what specific developments are happening right now, and what lies the media and politicians are trying to sell to the American public and the world. In the face of so much propaganda, what can Christians, libertarians and all of us who oppose war and senseless bloodshed do to stand up to these wicked powers? These conversations hopefully serve to simultaneously educate you while also encouraging you as to our ability to use truth and free speech to curtail tyranny.

In this episode, I dive into the passage in 1 Peter 2 in which we are told to honor the emperor. What does it mean to give honor, and is honor always the same regardless of the person? The common theme of the event was no one is coming to save us, we have to take responsibility for our own futures. In this episode, I debated the Chat GPT Open AI on whether the Bible can make a case for anarchy/a poly-centric legal order. Using a Socratic approach, I managed to convince the AI that not only would an anarchist legal order be compatible with what the Bible teaches, but that such a legal order would probably be superior in many ways to the one we have today in our society.

Scott breaks down the history of US imperialism leading up to the current Russia/Ukraine conflict. We discuss how propaganda, often targeted at being a good Christian or Patriot, is used to sell these wars, and that at some point the evidence points towards America, the government and nation not being the shining city on the hill that it claims to be.

In this episode, I have a conversation with Torren Danowski, founder of Don't Tread on Philly. Torren is a Christian who has gone through a journey through his struggle with gender dysphoria, which led him to, at one point in the past, live as a transgender woman. Torren shares his testimony and perspective, and then we dive into the current political landscape to explore where many conservative pundits are going astray in approaching the topic of transgenderism despite having mostly accurate positions on what the Bible teaches about sex, marriage, sin and our identities.

In this episode, I sit down with fellow CFLN podcast host Greg Baus, for a discussion on the conquest of Canaan as depicted in the OT Scripture. Often when talking about libertarian anarchist philosophy or the libertarian critiques of the State, the topic of war comes up. Libertarian anarchists generally take oppositional positions on war, often depicting themselves as being anti-war on the whole. As Christians, our view on war should be, as with all things, be informed by a sound reading and understanding of Scripture. Often then the pushback from the Christian worldview against the anarchist/anti-war position is that God commanded wars of conquest in the OT and therefore Christianity cannot be compatible with the anarchist position on war.
Greg and I both take a high view of Scripture and both are self described Libertarian Anarchists. In our conversation we dive into this objection and answer it by unpacking the conquest of Canaan to understand where it fits into God's sovereign redemptive plan, and hope to demonstrate that the Conquest of Canaan doesn't teach us about the glory or goodness of wars of conquests as part of what God has established as morally normative, but instead the opposite; that through a sound understanding of those passages in the context of ALL of Scripture teaches us that offensive wars are today not God honoring but rather rebellion against that which God has commanded.

In this episode, Liam McCollum returns to the show to dive deeper into the Russia/Ukraine conflict. We explore the many ways in which American foreign policy decisions over the past few decades have worked to continuously antagonize and provoke hostility from Russia, by repeatedly breaking promises and sabotaging peace efforts. We explore the different perspectives held on both sides of the conflict to demonstrate how war is always a failure to communicate, and increasing empathy and understanding of different people and groups is key to avoiding and diffusing conflict. Each side always feels justified in their actions, and the truth can be much more complicated and convoluted. We must maintain a Kingdom mentality a Christians when we observe these conflicts, and be the voice that speaks out against the war machine that seeks to only increase the power and wealth of the ruling classes, at the expense of however many human lives it costs them to succeed.

On this episode I had a conversation with Greg, the Secretary of the Libertarian Party Sober Caucus. Drew, the founder, started the LPSC in early 2021 to combat the state and how it actively works against recovery.
Most of the leadership of the LPSC come from places of addiction themselves and are compassionate to the struggle. At the same time, however, they are against prohibition and believe a freer market can help more than hurt.
A summary of their mission as said by the founder:
"We as members of the Sober Caucus; feel from our personal experience, along with a plethora of data that the "War on Drugs' has been a failed endeavor costing trillions of dollars, countless lives, and untold damage to families. Our purpose as the Sober Caucus is to empower individuals using Libertarian principles and policies to encourage a sober lifestyle. We encourage the legality of safe use and distribution of all mood and mind altering substances. We would like to see the end of the draconian 'War on Drugs' in our lifetime. It is a gross miscarriage of justice to cage people who pursue happiness by their own means. It is also equally heinous to punish those seeking to self-medicate physical and/or mental illnesses by all means available to them.
"We seek Free Market mechanisms to empower domestic entrepreneurship supply, processing, and distribution ending the dangers currently faced with prohibition. These policies will create accountability for producers and mitigate violence of criminal enterprise in the black market.
"Whereas the 'War on Drugs' has caused more damage than the drugs themselves, we seek to eliminate any legislation pursuing criminal charges against individuals for possession, use, manufacture, and distribution. It is time to surrender to reality and end the theft of liberty over victimless crime."

Property Rights - why are they foundational to understanding how we are to love our neighbor?
