Refer the Reefer with host Michael Alkire aka Lil Pharmer is a podcast that references medical cannabis consumption practices, methods and habits of medical cannabis consumers, long time cannabis activists and medical cannabis researchers who are pioneers in their studies. There is not much reliable information, for people to search for when looking for answers on how to consume medical cannabis responsibly for different ailments. Here we hope to shed light on proper ways to prep and consume medical cannabis for these different ailments that it is said to help relieve. Nowadays there are 100s of products and ways to consume them. Even to an experienced consumer there are always new things to be learned about the ever-changing world of legal cannabis. It is becoming ever increasingly popular in many parts of the world and being legalized for usage. More and more people are wanting to try cannabis for the first time, whether it be for recreational purposes or medical relief of any type. More and more people suffering from chronic illnesses that find little to no relief from pharmaceutical prescriptions and want to explore new options. After working in a recreational dispensary in Breckenridge, Colorado for 3 years, talking to clients from all over the world about why they consume and how it helps them, it has become clear that there are benefits to their consumption. Everyone has a unique Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and cannabis effects everyone a little bit differently depending on their own personal chemistry. What is the ECS and what does it control or do? The ECS is complicated, and experts haven’t yet determined exactly how it works or all of its potential functions are listed below. • appetite and digestion • metabolism • chronic pain • inflammation and other immune system responses • mood • learning and memory • motor control • sleep • cardiovascular system function • muscle formation • bone remodeling and growth • liver function • reproductive system function • stress • skin and nerve function These functions all contribute to homeostasis, which refers to stability of your internal environment. For example, if an outside force, such as pain from an injury or a fever, throws off your body’s homeostasis, your ECS kicks in to help your body return to its ideal operation. Today, experts believe that maintaining homeostasis if the primary role of the ECS. We will also be talking about the benefits of legalization, debunk the stigmas of Refer Madness and normalize cannabis consumption for everyone Worldwide. That being said cannabis isn’t for everyone and sometime can cause unwanted side-effects. This could be due to many factors including improper growing, contaminants and/or over consuming one's personal limits. Some people need to eat higher concentrates of edible cannabis and get the same effect as the next person. Sometimes 2.5 mg of THC is enough for one person and then 200 mg for the next to get the same desired effects. We will talk about how to avoid these bad situations and how to deal with them if they occur. We will also reference situations that occurred while trying to retrieve black market cannabis in the past and explain why it is better that it is legal. There are also thousands of different chemovars and cultivars of cannabis out there currently and thousands to come in the near future. These are many new terms that are being used in the industry now and some terms like Indica and Sativa that are not being used as much. Chemovars are used to describe cannabis strains by the chemical contents of the strain with terpene profiles and cannabinoid percentages present in each batch. Cultivars are used to describe a batch with a name of a strain, with the name of the grower and type of cultivation method used to grow it.
Refer the Reefer - Season 3 - Episode 9 - JJ from Top Dawg Seeds talks about the legendary Sour Diesel, Headband and different Chem Strains with recommendations on how to grow them. This episode Lil Pharmer sits down with Rachael Z. Ardanuy of RZA Legal who specializes in Cannabis Law.
My journey to cannabis law. Below is an description of Rachael from her website.
https://www.rzalegal.com
After nearly 10 years advocating for marijuana reform, I watched history being made in 2012 as Colorado passed the landmark Amendment 64 to legalize adult-use marijuana. 2012 was a landmark year for another reason - it's the year I became licensed to practice law.
After honing my craft representing clients in Florida for a few years, I moved to Colorado to dedicate my career to working with entrepreneurs, business owners, investors, and anyone else connected to the cannabis industry to get sound legal counsel and education on how to operate successfully and continue pushing this industry forward. In 2021, I obtained licensure in New Jersey as well, to bring our cannabis law experience and subject matter expertise to the Northeast.
As a small business owner, I’m not immune to the frustrations and struggles you’re facing each and every day. To operate my cannabis-focused law practice, I, too, have to jump through hoops and come up against red tape when it comes to marketing and operating.
As a result, I’ve learned that I cannot depend on search engines and ads; instead I strive to provide top-notch service to my clients, who in turn send referrals my way. I’m here to guide you through the process, educate you about your options, and help you achieve your goals.
The cannabis industry is nuanced. There truly is no one-size-fits-all approach. Every business has a unique set of parameters affecting their situation, and deserves legal advice specific to its position.
I love that every business I counsel moves this industry another step forward.
Together, we are changing the course of history.

Great episode with the man behind AREA420 in Moffat, Colorado. We discuss Social Equity, AREA420, Virgin Islands and the city of Moffat changing its name to Kush, Colorado. Great Episode with Jeremy Silva who started Build a Soil here in Montrose, Colorado because he wanted the cleanest and best cannabis to consume. Also the ins and outs of the Build a Soil products, what to use with them and the ethics behind their products.
We also discuss heavy metal content in ocean based fertilizers and the politics behind heavy metal testing in cannabis and finally light intensity with living soils and how you might not want to use 100% intensity from your lights all the time. Sometimes it is best to dim them down some and let the nutrients slowly feed your plant.
Great Episode with Mike Walsh of Grease. He is Co-Founder and COO of the company Grease and helped with the product development. He explains how Living Soil works compared to salt fed NPK nutrient feeding schedules. We also discuss Alcohol Addiction and how Cannabis helped us both to stop drinking Alcohol before it killed us both. This is a very personal episode with Tommy opening up about alcohol consumption due to prohibition of cannabis. Also, it is very informative with a lot of historical knowledge about the evolution of agriculture in the US and world, using fertilizers and the rise of cancer after prohibition of cannabis. www.detroitnutrientcompany.com

Dustin from World's Last Hope link up with Lil Pharmer over a Zoom chat to discuss Modern Natural Farming. He has been fine tuning KNF techniques and other Natural Farming techniques towards Cannabis specifically. After many years of self testing with trial and error he has discovered what works and what doesn't work with the cannabis plant. Ways of enhancing terpene production, overall plant health and ways to detect over fertilization when consuming cannabis that is over fertilized. He explains why all of this was initiated after consuming products that were contaminated with pesticides and nearly killed him by damaging his heart. Also, how his chronic bronchitis cleared up after starting to consume reefer. A lot of great knowledge dropped on this episode.
