When we are saved into God's family, it is not God's intention for us to walk the path of Christian life in isolation. followers of Jesus are bound together by Jesus in community with one another - in the context of the local church. Listen as Pastor Will guides us through Romans 12:3-8 where the Apostle Paul begins to talk about what our life in community should look like: how we should view ourselves, how we should view and treat each other, and how we should serve one another using the gifts we receive from the Holy Spirit.

In Romans 12:1-2, Paul is admonishing believers as individual followers of Christ - how they are to present themselves to God as an act of service and worship. And this extends to our worship service as it is the collective pursuit as the body of Christ to sacrifice our whole selves to God in worship, to reflect God’s mercy and holiness to one another and the world around us, and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds together. This sermon looks at what that means for our approach to worship - not just on Sunday morning but in everything we do. This sermon explores what God requires of us in worship, what our worship should reflect, and what the ultimate result of giving ourselves over to those things will be.

At our core, we are worshipers. Everyone who has ever lived is inclined to give themselves over to the worship of something that they value above all else. As believers in Jesus, and the gathered people of God, we regularly engage in rhythms and practices to remind ourselves that it is the God of the Bible alone who deserves our worship.

This week, Pastor Doug Logan (VP of Advancement at Acts29 and President of Grimke Seminary) preached from Psalm 67 about a broad strokes view of worship and God's people as worshipers.
