With over thirty years of experience, Matthew is a highly accomplished leader with adept knowledge and career expertise in government contracting. He is currently helping companies from start-up technology businesses breaking into the Federal markets to mature multi-million-dollar businesses already delivering professional services across the Federal marketplace.
Prior to founding Scare the Bear Capital, Matthew founded and led Markon Solutions, a consulting company with expertise in management, finance, and systems engineering. In 2021, he joined Anser Advisory, a private equity-backed consulting company, as Chief Operating Officer where he oversaw the acquisition of six businesses.
Matthew started his career in 1991 as a government cost estimator for the Department of Navy, supporting various Navy weapon systems program offices. After five years in the government, he moved to the private sector with KPMG Peak Marwick (which later became BearingPoint). As a KPMG consultant, Matthew was responsible for supporting federal clients in areas such as contract dispute resolution analysis, business metrics development, and business process reengineering.
