Continuing our discussion of AI to analyse news stories and fanfiction, hosts Dr Craig and Lord Taylor return to their project to use Chat GPT-3 to generate new stories featuring Sherlock Holmes. This AI 'fanfic' story is then analysed using writing techniques to identify patterns in the writing style and language used by the AI.Our analysis shows that the stories generated by GPT-3 have some similarities to Kowal's MICE (Milieu, Inquiry, Character, Event) model of short story writing in terms of sentence structure, word choice and tone. However, our discussion also reveals that the stories lack depth and character development, which are crucial elements in storytelling. We suggest that while AI can be useful in generating new ideas and content, it cannot replace the creativity and imagination of human writers. AI-generated content should be viewed as a tool to aid human writers rather than a replacement for them.
