CropFest is a 3 day festival organised by Eton Crop. Artists like Eton Crop, Jon Langford (Mekons), Claw Boys Claw, JB Meijers, Scram C Baby, Quazar, Ferry and Pim (De Kift), EC Groove Society, DJ78 and Joost van Bellen will play in Cinetol, Amsterdam on 8, 9 and 10 november. Joost van Bellen is ongeveer even oud als de Croppers. En even enthousiast over muziek. En even nieuwsgierig naar nieuwe en spannende muziek. Hij speelde en speelt nog steeds een belangrijke rol in de Nederlandse house. Een pionier, een grondlegger, een grensverleggend en bovenal een mooi mens! Om op te warmen voor Cropfest (8-10 November), gingen we met Roy Mantel terug naar de roots van Eton Crop: Nieuwkoop en Kudelstaart. Eton Crop has always loved the perfect pop of The Undertones and the combination of guitars and danceable beats of That Petrol Emotion was a big influence on us. Damian O'Neill played in both bands. The Mekons were a big influence on Eton Crop. Because they combined the political with the personal, because they explored new musical ground, because Tom and Jon produced albums and designed album covers. And because we played a lot with them.
