A podcast about beer and friendship. Est. 2021
Hosted by Tom, Alex, and John.
We drink, rate, and comment on various beers, with a Canada-domestic focus. We don’t judge beers, we rate them.
After a lengthy period of time away, Domestic Pints ONLY is BACK to discuss a lineup of beers from a popular brewpub chain: 3 BRASSEURS. Did you know that 3 Brasseurs is from France? We talk about the history of this chain, and our own experiences going there at the Ottawa locations. We profiled a list of their available beers: White, Blonde, and IPA. Along the way we also discussed our recent vacation to Toronto, and our experience visiting their breweries (yes, we FINALLY went to Henderson!); Footloose; moaning; Jim (who knows you?); and IPA snobs. It was nice to hang out again after many weeks away.
We'll be back shortly for our next stout week episode!

Happy Cinco De Mayo! To celebrate this beloved Mexican holiday, we decided to profile some long awaited Mexican beers. First up is the classic CORONA! Following that is the more recently popular MODELO. We wrap things up with discussing a most interesting beer: DOS EQUIS! Along the way we chatted about: beer merch; Tom's experience in Mexico; Modelo stories; almost throwing up at the SkyDome; and 2000s beer marketing. There were all beers we were familiar with, so we had a lot of fun talking about our own experiences with these beverages.
We'll be back in a couple of weeks to discuss a lineup from an Ontario/Quebec brewup!

Along the way we chatted: "alcohol guy"; nostalgic branding; Tuscan Lemonade; banned-in-Canada dyes; Chuck Berry; Yoko Ono; Beatles' 1; A Day in the Life; brand names used as product names; and the recent solar eclipse.

This week on Domestic Pints ONLY, John and Tom returned back from vacation and felt like clearing through some backlog, so we compiled some random beers we had in our collection to see which one would be this week's winner. First up is the selection from Dominion City: CIVIC PILSNER. Next up is a selection brewed in partnership with Spearhead Brewery and the Society of Beer Drinking Ladies: CHERRY DARK LAGER. The last selection is one from an old favourite, Cowbell Brewing Co., called JUICED SEAGULL. Outside of the beers, we also discussed our recent trip to Winnipeg and our experiences with their craft beer scene. We also discussed: Sasha Baron Cohen's divorce; organic snacks; coca cola on draught; I Think You Should Leave; and piss drinking.
We'll be back next week with most likely another seltzer series.

This box features four flavours: Pineapple, Grapefruit, Lime, and Mango. Along the way we also discussed: The Simpsons; Honey We Shrunk Ourselves; bad snacks; road beers; the upcoming NFL season and some recent changes on our teams; Kawhi Leonard; banned in Canada food dyes; and Tom also discussed his recent trip to the Alberta Beer Festival (shout out to One For The Road Brewing Co.)

This week on Domestic Pints ONLY, John and Tom return back to some familiar material, sampling a selection of more conventional lagers from the craft beer scene. First up, we embrace the cottage mindset with the satisfying LITTLE ISLAND LEMON LAGER. Next up is a selection from a recent episode, New Level Brewing, as we dive into HELLION LAGER. We wrap things up with our first Flying Monkeys beer, the pumpkin lager THEATRE OF MADNESS. We efficiently crushed these beers, but we did have some time to chat about: cottage mindset; safety meetings; yacht rock; British power metal; Grateful Dead bootlegs; and the LCBO food sampling stations.
We'll be back next week with another miscellaneous craft mix (trying to clean up some old cupboard stock before the summer!)

This week on Domestic Pints ONLY, John and Tom head to Toronto to sample some beers from the popular craft joint: Burdock Brewery. After introducing the brewery we get into the beers. First, the tasty helles-style lager, the Dad-vibey DELUXE. Next up is the futuristic lookin' VERMONT BLONDE. We wrap things up by forming a 'Flying V' and skating over to the DUCKS IPA. Because two of the three beers were small cans, we wrapped this episode pretty quick. However, along the way we did chat about: Murdoch Mysteries; Maury Povich; Billy Madison; the Dune 2 popcorn bucket; Brass Monkey; and Karen Carpenter. Boy did we cover a lot of ground.

For close to a year, the masses have told us "we want another stout episode!" Finally, on this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, we return back to the world of craft stouts. We profile a hodgepodge lineup from across the country, the first result being Brock Street Brewing Company's MILK CHOCOLATE STOUT from Whitby, Ontario. We switch over to Alberta, to profile the ICE CUTTER vanilla latte stout, courtesy of Sylvan Lake's Snake Laker Brewing. Our final selection is the unique ROOT BEER FLOAT STOUT by Toronto's Lost Craft Brewery. It was nice to return to one of our favourite kinds of beer. Along the way we also discussed: our teachers at Jockvale Elementary School and their strong memories; refrigeration before the advent of electricity, music; and what the ASMR acronym stands for.
We'll be back next week with a Toronto craft lineup.

Welcome to 2024! On this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, we were happy to be joined by Curtis (John's co-host of The Seat Struck Movie Podcast), making his long awaited return. For this episode, we checked back on COLLECTIVE ARTS BREWING to discuss another lineup of tasty beverages. First up was the super low ABV 'BEYOND REASON' micro IPA. Next up was the optimal breakfast beer, the DAILY FORECAST: MIMOSA. Last was more domestic-styled COLLECTIVE LAGER. Along the way, Curtis and John recapped their night at House of Targ; discussed goldfish as pets; talked about mimosas; and had a brief chat on farting. We are men of multitudes.
Stay tuned for another episode coming next week (including a bonus solo ep that will be dropping soon)!

Seasons greetings! On this special holiday episode, we decided to honour college students around the nation who are having their post-exam parties, cleaning up their pantries and fridges as they prepare to move, and discovering a mix of random beers. Today we profile three random drinks: PABST BLUE RIBBON LIGHT; BUD LIGHT MANGO; and lastly the PABST GROOVY LEMON STRONG ICED TEA. Along the way we chatted a bit about: our favourite Christmas songs; washing hats; Kid Rock ending his Bud Light boycott; 90s Batman movies; a quick rant about seltzers; Alex Jones; and DPOs proximity in the culture war.
This may be out last episode before the year ends. On that note, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Enjoy the holidays, we will be back soon with a special (and familiar) guest for another Ontario craft lineup

To be completely honest, the impetus for doing this episode was a desire to clear up our backlog. So for this week's Domestic Pints ONLY, John and Tom discuss a series of random craft lager—some of which have been in our possession for a couple of years. First up is the 100th MERIDIAN AMBER LAGER by Mill Street. Next up LONGHORN LAGER from Uxbridge, Ontario. The last item is the COFFEE LAGER by Sidelaunch Brewing Company (which as of this recording is currently unavailable to purchase, but keep your eyes open). Along the way we chat about: Christmas shopping; The Tragically Hip-Mill Street lawsuit; $10 pitchers of beer at college bars; Toronto slang; cannabus-induced paranoia; and pelicans. While we went into this episode with some apprehension, we left pleasantly surprised.
Next episode will be either an Alberta beer lineup... or another backlog episode. Stay tuned!

The next beer is another special release, which was launched during Ottawa Comic Con, the ENGAGE! GALAXY CLASS IPA. And lastly we discuss the flagship fall beer, FIRESIDE ESB. Along the way we chat about: the JFK assassination; red Starbucks cups; eggnog; Star Trek; Malcolm McDowell's dong; and home brewing. Calabogie beers are available for sale at their local taprooms in Calabogie and Kanata, and are available at select stores across Ontario.

After yet another short hiatus (sorry, John was on vacation), Domestic Pints ONLY is back to discuss another lineup from TOWN SQUARE BREWING CO. It's almost been one year since we last profiled them, and in that year our co-host Tom has moved to a neighbourhood much closer to their brew pub, so we talk a bit about Tom's experiences going to the brewery. Our lineup this week starts with the reliable MOVING DAY LAGER. Next one up is the unique and smoky rauchbier PRAIRIE FIRE. Last is a beer released via partnership with Edmonton's The Tea Lady: the PEACH SANGRIA WHITE TEA SOUR. Along the way we chatted about: Halloween; overalls; engineers; the song 'Get Low'; craft beer in NYC; junior chicken vs. McChicken; Pokemon; Zyn; and tasteless tattoos. We had a fun time catching up, and look forward to sampling some more TOWN SQUARE beers in the future.

After a brief break, Domestic Pints ONLY is happy to be back, and on Thanksgiving to boot, for episode 130! This week we're chatting about a brewery located in Sharbot Lake, Ontario: KICK & PUSH BREWING COMPANY. John shares his experience visiting the brewery and talks a bit about their origins. Next, we run through the lineup. We hit the road with the MX287 cerveza. Up next is lagered ale HUMILITY. Lastly, we wrap with the blonde ale BIRD DOG. Tom and John needed some time to catch up so along the way we chatted about a lot of stuff: Thanksgiving, Chats Falls and the mystery of the solar wheel (see the show notes below); Alan Jackson and Reba McEntire; a BDSM-themed brewery; John's Kingston story; and getting cat-called in a positive manner.

We start off with one of the wildest beers we have every profiled, the ORANGE DEMON creamsicle sour. Next up is the more traditional SEA WITCH passionfruit sour. We wrap things up by chatting the boozy SPACE WOLF galaxy IPA. Along the way we discuss: Barrhaven grocery stores; Uh Oh!; Tom and Evan's wolf story; and rant about IPA haters. We chat a bit about Shiddy's and their history before getting to the lineup. Up first is the sweet NIBBY BOY, followed by the muy caliente CHILI AND LIME, and lastly the Earl Grey-infused OL' BLOOTY. We were very impressed by these craft seltzers, and we would pick this over most domestic choices. John and Tom discuss their experiences with this brewery before delving into the lineup. First up is the tasty Citra pale ale (and lengthy named): ONE STUNNING, GORGEOUS CARTWHEEL. Next is the HOW ABOUT ITALY? pilsner. Last is the blood orange IPA, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. After recently celebrating Canada Day we were in the mood for some classic Canadian drinks, so this week on Domestic Pints ONLY we returned to the world of CANNED CAESARS. The lineup for this episode is the LIFE RAFT vodka caesar, and two selections by MOTTS: Original, and Pickled Bean. Before getting to the lineup we did a quick little caesar recap, and after the discussion we also had an extended chat about the Seat Struck Movie Podcast (Tom is appearing this week as a guest!). Overall, we're still not the biggest fan of canned caesars, but if you want something to recreate a caesar in a pinch, these are a nice choice.
Next week we will likely be returning with more seltzers.

It's been a while since we did a cider episode, so why not delve into some craft ciders (that coincidently are produced by a brewery we discussed last year)? That's right, we're talking COWBELL BREWING hard ciders. We recap Cowbell before drinking and discussing the lineup from their mixed box: original, rose, and peach. We were pretty thirsty and drank through these varied drinks in record time, so not a whole lot of off topic discussion this week. Overall, these were solid!
Next week we return to Ottawa for another Beyond the Pale spotlight.

Months ago, the boys at Domestic Pints ONLY issued a challenge: try to find a cheap 'craft' lager under $3.00. And after some searching, and finally a day where we could all chat together, we found them and delivered! This week, John, Tom, and Alex discuss their selections of surprisingly inexpensive beer outside the typical InBev/Miller Coors conglomerate. First up is Alex with Last Spike Brewery's THE DUKE lager. Following that is John with the classic cheap Quebec brew: TREMBLAY BLONDE. Last up is Tom, as we sample the plaid-branded REVELSTOKE LAGER from Mt. Begbie Brewery. Alex also talks briefly about his experience at the Guinness Brewery in Ireland and also buying Bud Light at an Irish pub (we sort of digress into talking regional difference with macro beers). Finally we wrap up with our scores. Not only were these beers cheap, but surprisingly good! See, craft brewing isn't JUST chocolate milk imperial dry hopped stouts!
Next week, we will be back with another brewery spotlight from Ontario - stay tuned!

We then delve into the lineup: Lager, Light Lager, IPA, Pilsner, and the irreverent Red Ale.
This was one of our wildest episodes yet: featuring some strong surprise beers that we loved, and a couple of our lowest scores TO DATE. Overall, it was an experience. If you're having a "challenging day", check out these cheapo domestic beers!

We wrap up with a celebrated beer that originated in the United States in the 19th century, but is now produced today under the Molson label - OV (or alternatively known as 'Old Vienna'). Happy New Year! In our first 2022 episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, we return to the domestic field to discuss some 'limited edition' beers, some of these only available for a short period of time. Next up we try out the J.P. Wiser x Molson collab with COMMON BOND. Finally, we sample and slurp suddenly a salviating selection of suds with the Letterkenny-inspired PUPPERS GOLDEN ALE. Most of these selections are available across Canada - check these out! We are back next episode with a brewery spotlight into a local Ottawa-area brewery (with a surprise special guest!).

In our first 'part two' of our celebrated 'Brewery Spotlight' series, Tom and John discuss some select flavours from the Box of Chocolates beer collection from Spectrum (Alex would have joined, but his beers were accidently consumed the night prior by a dastardly family member!). We first discuss the delicious MINT CHOCOLATE ALE, then the Terry Chocolate Orange-esque ORANGE CHOCOLATE ALE, and finally wrap things up with the smooth MILK CHOCOLATE ALE (we also discuss our favourite Christmas moves at the end of the episode). Very ale heavy episode but we dug these beers, definitely a perfect episode for Tom and John's moms and other moms around the world. If you see the Box of Chocolates at your local store - check them out.
Note that one of the beers in the box, the white chocolate stout, was not featured on this episode. However, we've sampled it in person and can confirm it is a great drink. Look to seeing it featured on a future stout discussion.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! On the eve of the big day, we decided to drop a bit of seasonal bonus content. What better way to ring in the holiday season with some holiday themed seltzers by Bud Light? These are available in Alberta and parts of Western Canada, and in the U.S. We start off with PEPPERMINT PATTIE (not to be confused with the Peanuts character). Next up we trim up the tree and try out GINGER SNAP (not to be confused with the Canadian horror flick). Lastly, we dip into the punch and start "motoring", finishing with CRANBERRY (not to be confused with the band).
With things getting crazier now on the COVID side, we hope wherever you are that you have a safe and healthy holiday season. We will be back next week with some holiday flavoured beers from Spectrum Brewing!

The beers we feature today are all available in their seasonal mix pack, in order of appearance: ORIGINAL DRAUGHT, CREAM ALE, and HONEY BROWN LAGER. Next up is Golden Ale by HAWK TAIL BREWERY wayyy out in Rimby, AB (which I accidently called Grimsby). Finally we chat about the low-cal Extra Mile Session IPA from RALLY BEER COMPANY. This episode marks our first ever Thursday DPO, and probably the first episode in many weeks where we could get up afterwards and continue about our day as relatively sober gentleman. Thanks to Alex for joining us on this episode as he will be on a brief hiatus for a few weeks. We will be joined by a special guest next episode as we chat Sleeman beers!

First we return to Spectrum and discuss their PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE ALE. We then return to Edmonton's beloved Alley Kat Brewing Company and try out their PUMPKIN PIE SPICED ALE. We wrap up with discussing an iconic autumn beer in Ontario: Great Lakes' PUMPKIN ALE. While pumpkin beers aren't our favourite drinks, we did come to a consensus on our favourite of the three.

On Domestic Pints ONLY, we like to go fast and furious! In our third installment of the Icy Dry Bois series, we discuss another round of various dry/ice beers. First we return to BLUE DRY, discussing the 6.1 variant. Don't worry, this variant isn't contagious! Next up is CARLING DRY 5.5. (not to be confused with Carling Ice, which was our original choice before pivoting, hence the mention earlier in the ep). We conclude by chasing the dragon and consuming some Mortal Kombat voice LABATT EXTRA DRY-YYYYYYY! Once again, we really enjoyed most of these beers, some good bang for your buck here.

This was a tough episode to drink through, but we did come to a consensus with our favourite drinks. Stay tuned for more Icy Dry Boi episodes to come in the future!

As we approach the end of the summer, and for many Canadians prime cottage season, we thought it was time to discuss a selection of yuppy Muskoka beers. On this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY we are joined by our long time friend and listener, and a member of the Crispy Boys, 'Chef' Andrew! We start the episode discussing COORS ORGANIC, before moving on to the light and low-cal MOLSON ULTRA (formerly Molson Canadian 67). We end with the king of golf beers: MICHELOB ULTRA. Special thanks to Andy for joining us, who also provided his advice for cooking with these beers throughout the episode. If you plan to make any final cottage trips before the cold weather sets in, consider bringing some of these tasty lights!

Next we return to a Western establishment, Big Rock's ALBERTA GENUINE DRAFT LIGHT (aka AGD Light). Finally we try out the clumsily named MILLER HIGH LIFE LIGHT. SALUTE MI FAMILIA
This week on Domestic Pints ONLY we return to our venerated "Seltzer Sunday" series. Tom is off work today, so we're having our first FRIDAY NIGHT pod! We're talking Coors Seltzers. First we chat a little bit about these drinks, and give an overall score for the cans. We then move on to discussing the drinks themselves and provide our recommendations: starting with LEMON LIME, BLACK CHERRY, GRAPEFRUIT, and finally MANGO. Note that Alex is allergic to Mango but he drank the seltzer and lived, your mileage may vary. This was one of the most fun times we had recording an ep thus far. Drinking and reviewing bevvys at the end of a long work week hits different. Coors Seltzer are widely available across Canada and the U.S. - enjoy!

To call this July 1 a weird day is an understatement -- many of us are staying at home, still waiting for our vaccines and subsequent re-openings, others are staying home in light of recent confirmations of widespread unmarked mass graves at residential schools. Whatever your plans are on this Canada Day, we wanted to offer a fun little reprieve with a special Domestic Pints ONLY bonus episode. What better drink to have today than Canada's signature cocktail: the bloody caesar! This week on DPO we review a selection of canned caesar beverages. Joining us as a guest is our long time friend and listener, a true crispy boi, Grant! First John talks a bit about the history of the bloody caesar (when was it invented? where did it originate?) before moving on to our drink reviews. First, with MOTT'S CLAMATO EXTRA SPICY! Our next drink is the red hot FRANK'S RED HOT CAESAR ORIGINALE. Finally we try out MATT AND STEVE'S HOT AND SPICY CAESAR. We hope your day off is a fun and refreshing one, and we'll see you all again soon!
NOTE: Grant and John recorded this one on a shared laptop, as a result the microphone cuts out occasionally when there is overlapping chatter. Apologies for any audio bugs!

In a first for Domestic Pints ONLY, we are taking a look at some popular low-alcoholic beers (alternatively known as non-alcoholic beers, or 'near beers'). First we chat a bit about the history of low-alcoholic beers before discussing our beers of choice. First, we discuss COORS EDGE 0.5. We then move to discuss its macro companion beer: BUDWEISER ZERO. We finish up by discussing a newer beer on the Canadian scene: SLEEMAN ZERO POINT FIVE CITRUS LAGER. While low-alcoholic beers are normally not our beers of choice, there is a growing market for these drinks and we likely be discussing some future selections on episodes to come. Do you have any 'near beers' that you're fond of, either at the macro-level or in the craft scene? Let us know!

This week on Domestic Pints ONLY, we are going back in time to explore a forgotten drink from the 19th century, which was recently discovered and produced for modern day audiences: Cronk (apocryphally known as Dr. Cronk's Compound Sarsaparilla Beer). We chat about the history and background of the drink before discussing the modern day revivals, courtesy of Cold Garden Brewing Company. First we try out CRONK 1.0 and then CRONK 2.0, a slightly modernized version. Worth nothing that you can actually order this drink to be delivered anywhere in Canada! Bonjour-hi! On this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, we take a tour to la belle province to sample a select series of Québec stouts, ranging from milk, oatmeal, white, and imperial. We're happy to be once again joined by our friend 'Stout' Steve. First we try out MILK STOUT by Brasserie Les 2 Frères. Next we switch our palates to try STOUT À L'AVOINE (Oatmeal Stout) by Microbrasserie Le Castor. Lastly we sample two stouts from Brasseurs du Monde, and both are wildly different: first with the far out 3E TYPE white stout, and secondly with the final boss LE SEIGNEUR NOIR imperial stout. Lots of fun in this one, and we look forward to trying more from Québec in the future.

Yee haw! This week on Domestic Pints ONLY we hop in the saddle to chat about some popular western beers. First, a challenger appears from the Pacific Northwest: RAINIER. Afterwards we drink and chat about the classic LONE STAR beer. To conclude we return to the MillerCoors empire to discuss MILLER GENUINE DRAFT, or MGD for short. This week on Domestic Pints ONLY, Tom takes us on an exploration into some of his favourite local Edmonton beers in our inaugural City Spotlight episode. First we check out B.S. WIT by Bent Stick Brewing Company. Next we try out an iconic beer by the popular Alley Kat Brewing Company, one of the oldest breweries in Alberta: APRIKAT APRICOT ALE. Hey all, producer John here. Apologies in advance for the ramble-y address, just wanted to get something out in time before the next episode drops.
Topics discussed:
As always, thanks for your listens. I dislike online begging as a rule but even in the context of the podcast episodes I sometimes find it cringe, but it would be cool if you mention us to your friends! Here's to another six months of DPO excellence.
This week on Domestic Pints ONLY we throw on our pastel suit and ties and a pair of Wayfarers as we begin our inaugural Seltzer Sunday episode! We compare two new releases by Pabst Blue Ribbon: PABST BLUE RIBBON STRONG VODKA SODA CLEAR BLUE RAZZ and PABST BLUE RIBBON STRONG VODKA SODA REBEL CITRUS. On this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, we do our first brewery deep-dive into a Calgary favourite, a spot that was also featured in our previous episode: Cold Garden Brewing Company. But we aren't going it alone, we're pleased to be joined again by 'Stout' Steve! First we discuss EAST CALGARY LAGER. Next, we ask ourselves: "where is that large automobile? This is not my beautiful house, this is not my beautiful wife." as we consume and chat about THIS MUST BE THE IPA. Finally we end on a unique beer that will be a favourite for those of you with a sweet tooth: CAKEFACE. Lots of fun to be had on this one with some tasty drinks. After a successful stout week, we wanted to indulge in some more delightful chocolate and coffee flavoured dark drinks. ENTER: PORTER WEEK. We spend some time at the start of the episode answering the following questions: what is a porter, and how is a porter different from a stout? We begin by returning to Mill Street and trying out MILL STREET VANILLA PORTER. Would you believe our next selection is actually from a winery? Well, the brewery division of a winery to be exact. It actually has a detailed origin story (see the link in the credits): it's 3 THREADS PORTER by Magnotta Brewery. Finally we end on a unique selection from the Calgary craft scene, THE ALL-NIGHTER CAPPUCCINO PORTER by Cold Garden Beverage Company. Icy Dry Bois? Dry Icy Bois? Strong Bois? Call them whatever you like! On this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, we're starting the first of many episodes discussing Ice/Dry/Strong variant beers. First up we chat about a surprise hit: MOLSON DRY (5.5 ABV). Next up, Tom shares some funny stories about an old co-worker, as we drink and review CARLING BLACK ICE (alternatively, CARLING BLACK LABEL ICE or MOLSON ICE). Finally, we return back to an old favourite, who much like a Dragonball-Z villain has powered up into their final form: LABATT BLUE DRY (8.1 ABV). This week on Domestic Pints ONLY, we mix things up by pivoting away from the usual domestic favourites to instead focus on a specific beer type: stouts! But we aren't going it alone, we're joined by our first guest--and noted stout aficionado-- Steve! With a new guest also comes a tweaked rating system, where we instead focus on the five C's (creamy, cascade, coffee/chocolate, colour, and content). This ep each of us picked a selected craft stout to drink and rate. First up is John, and due to a shipping issue he was unable to use his original choice, so we pivoted to the reliable MILL STREET COBBLESTONE NITRO STOUT. Our second stout comes courtesy of Steve and his hometown of Ponoka, Alberta: COAL PUSHER STOUT (by Siding 14 Brewing Company). Up next is Alex with his unique Calgary choice: GOOD MORNING VIETNAMESE COFFEE STOUT (by Eighty Eight Brewing Company). Tom concludes our ep with a choice out of Edmonton: KODIAK ISLAND CHOCOLATE OATMEAL STOUT ( by Polar Park Brewing Company). With the extra guest added this is our longest episode yet, but if that doesn't dissuade you we think you'll enjoy this eclectic selection of stouts from across the country.

This week on Domestic Pints ONLY, we're going back to college! We've got our letterman jacket on, we've froshed frosh week, we've joined our frat, and we're stocking up on some PRIMO light beers. The beers on the episode are popular with the heavy drinking set. First we return back to Milwaukee, to review OLD MILWAUKEE LIGHT. Next, we get 'stoned by sampling and reviewing some KEYSTONE LIGHT. We conclude the episode by drinking the 'chad' of beers, it's NATURAL (aka 'NATTY') LIGHT. While you might have some bad memories of a painful morning after a college football tailgate, these beers are actually pretty fun to drink and chat about as an older post-grad audience. Enjoy!

What do the beers discussed on this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY have in common? Well, two are lagers... but one is a pilsner, so... hmm anyways these bottles and cans are known for their green labelling and design. We begin with a yizner fav: ROLLING ROCK. The next two beers are two of the most popular independently brewed beers in Canada, STEAM WHISTLE PILSNER and MOOSEHEAD LAGER (yes, both of these companies have escaped the clutches of InBev and Miller Coors). Compared to the previous episode, this one was a lot more jovial as we shared a lot of fun history and experiences. Enjoy!

Some episodes are a sprint, and others are a marathon. This week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY falls into the latter as we struggle our way through some high ABV malt liquor. We start it off with the popular COLT 45, then move on to a pretty unique beer: MICKEY'S. Before we end our long race, we pour one out for the homies and discuss the iconic OLDE ENGLISH 800. While these beers are a bit outside our palate, we did find some positives to talk on, and if you're looking to get lit these might be the beers for you!

"ROUND ONE, FIGHT!"
In this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, we're heading to the 7/11 with small bills and change, and coming home with a few select bargain bin beers. We start out by discussing an iconic American beer, PABST BLUE RIBBON. We move on to discuss another classic American staple: OLD MILWAUKEE. To wrap things up, we return to our friends at the Molson Coors Beverage Company to discuss the "Champaign of beers": MILLER HIGH LIFE. This was a fun one with some tasty favs, including a beer John had never tried before. Stay tuned for our second bargain bin match up, coming at you next week!

It's episode #3, and this week we are talkin' lights. Got some heavy hitters on deck, starting with the iconic BUD LIGHT. Next up is a beer perfect for fighting werewolves, since it's the "silver bullet": COORS LIGHT. After that, it's Miller Time! We consume and talk about the beloved MILLER LITE. As we note in every episode, we are professional beersmen, and can handle consuming larger quantities and higher ABV than most. The beers discussed this episode are a lot more crushable, perfect for the warmer days ahead, and might be preferable for those that want to consume less. Enjoy!

Top of the morning to you! In celebration of a beloved drinking holiday, we have released a special bonus episode to chronicle some popular Irish favs. First, we drink and rate HARP LAGER. We then move on to discuss a popular Canadian import: KILKENNY IRISH CREAM ALE. Our next beer happens to be the first red ale consumed on this show: SMITHWICK'S PREMIUM RED ALE. To wrap things up, we end on an iconic Irish beer: GUINNESS DRAUGHT STOUT. This episode was a lot of fun to record, and we hope you all have a fun and safe St Paddy's Day!

Welcome to the second episode of 'Domestic Pints ONLY'. This week we talk about three titans of the beer industry, starting with a beer that "has a prime minister, not a president... that speaks English and French, not American": MOLSON CANADIAN. Next we move onto a classic American staple, but one that is relatively new in the Canadian market: COORS ORIGINAL (formerly labelled as "Coors Banquet"). Finally, we end with a reminder to take your vitamins, specifically, vitamin 'p'. It's OLD STYLE PILSNER! This ep is a bit shorter, and because this time we knew what we were doing (somewhat) it's a much stronger one. Think of this one like the "Empire Strikes Back" to episode one's "A New Hope", just with no scary giant asteroid worms.

Welcome to our first episode of 'Domestic Pints ONLY'. In our "inaugurable" episode, we introduce ourselves and spend a bit of time talking about our background and tastes, and discuss our motivations for creating the podcast. After this lengthy intro we move on to discussing some kings of the bar rail scene, starting out with the "King of Beers": BUDWEISER. Following that, we drink and rate a Canadian institution: LABATT BLUE. For our last beer, we discuss the "PRIDE OF NOVA SCOTIA" (all caps for effect): ALEXANDER KEITH'S IPA. A bit of a long one to start, going forward expect punchy-er eps. Cheers!
