Dr. Gavin Wood is the founder of Polkadot. He is a computer scientist and holds a PhD in human-computer interfacing. Charles Hoskinson is the founder of Cardano. He is a mathematician and did not complete a PhD. Charles and Gavin also co-founded with Vitalik Buterin and 5 others in 2013. Charles seems to spend a lot more time engaging with the Cardano community than Gavin does engage with the Polkadot community. Gavin and Charles have radically different approaches to building their respective projects. Polkadot tests feature using Kusama, and Cardano’s features are peer-reviewed by academics prior to implementation.

Ethereum was technically founded by 8 people including Vitalik Buterin and Charles Hoskinson in December 2013. Charles later left Ethereum to found Cardano. Charles is a mathematician who dropped out of his PhD to work in cryptocurrency full time. Vitalik is a computer scientist who dropped out of his bachelor’s program for the same reason.
🛠Development🛠 In terms of development, Ethereum has more of a hands-on approach by putting practise before theory. Ethereum’s approach gave it the first-mover advantage when it launched in the summer of 2015. This is in stark contrast to Cardano. Every component of its architecture is peer-reviewed and rigorously tested by academics prior to implementation.

You're camping, and it's dusk. As you gather firewood, one of the sticks moves. It's not a stick. It's deadly black mamba. The snake raises its head more than 1 m (4 ft) off the ground. It strikes like lightning, attacking you again and again, then slithers away. What could you do to survive? Are black mambas black all over their bodies? Do these snakes hang out alone or travel in groups? And how fast can you die from a black mamba's venom?

Carol Baskin was wrong. Tigers are not big, cuddly cats. And as you find yourself with one on top of you, you'd better hope you don't become a rodent in this deadly game of cat and mouse. The tiger is the largest of the cat family, Felidae, and rivals the lion, Panthera leo, in strength. If you think you can take on a tiger, consider the fact that they are 20 times stronger than the average human. In the words of Joe Exotic, tigers are "A real-life tornado, and there ain’t nothin’ you can do besides protect yourself. "

Snap, crackle, pop. The harmless log that just floated by you has turned into a jaw-snapping death machine. A crocodile may swim by unassumingly but make no mistake, they are on the hunt for their next prey. Crocodiles have heightened smell, sight and hearing, and can hold their breath for over an hour. Their ability to lurk underwater makes them the third most dangerous predator in all of Africa. The freshwater Nile crocodile is one of the deadliest animals on the Nile River, with a wildlife carcass count only behind that of lions and hippos. The good news is, only 7 of the 23 known croc species are considered dangerous to humans. The bad news is, the one in front of you is one of those seven, and it's very, very hungry.

This is no Simba. Unlike the song, this lion is not sleeping tonight. Instinct kicks in, and you begin to run, but even the fastest human on Earth, Usain Bolt, with his record-breaking speed of almost 45 km/h (28 mph), can't outrun this terrifying beast. In fact, with an average speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) a lion can run almost twice as fast as you can. And if it's gunning for you, a lion can can clock up to 128 km/h (80 mph).

Though they're powerful and fast, black rhinos could not outrun the black market demand for their horns. Nature parks, like the Serengeti Park in Germany, allow endangered species like this to thrive in peace under human supervision. But in 2019, this zookeeper found out that a rhino's temperament can change in an instant, and barely escaped with his life while trapped inside a car. If you were driving through a park, could you outrun a rhino? Are rhinos blind? And how powerful is that horn?

How to live through one of nature’s most powerful events.
You’re on a beach. Not a worry in the world. The sun bronzing your skin, sand trickling between your toes,
the sound of waves– wait, what?
Where’d all the water go? Did you see it going out? Now what?
Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/vibes-up/message
Nope. Quicksand—that is, sand that behaves as a liquid because it is saturated with water—can be a mucky nuisance, but it's basically impossible to die in the way that is depicted in movies. That's because quicksand is denser than the human body.
Picture this, you’re having a nice, relaxing walk on a private beach without a care in the world. All of a sudden, your foot drops into a deep and murky puddle. You struggle to pull your leg out, but it just won’t budge.
Before you know it, you’re sinking rapidly, and half of your body is submerged in cold, wet quicksand. The more you struggle, the more you sink. Talk about a terrible way to end a vacation.

Is it easy to escape from prison? More than a quarter of a million people successfully escaped from captivity between 1990 and 2020—specifically 260,297 prisoners, according to historical data from the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics. But, not all lock-ups are equally easy to escape. The United States has the world’s highest ratio of incarcerated individuals at 724 inmates per 100,000 people. When a riot starts, you must decide what your course of action will be. In the midst of absolute chaos, and whether you are an inmate or a guard, your life is at risk. If you are indecisive, you leave yourself open to getting hurt, caught, or killed. Is it a good idea to be armed? Where would be the best place to be? Should you call for help?

Can a person survive being swallowed by a whale? As you have probably gathered by now, even though it is technically possible to survive being swallowed by a whale, it's extremely unlikely. But luckily for us, whales are generally not that interested in humans. If you are going to worry about anything eating you in the water, it should probably be sharks. What would happen if you were swallowed by a whale? Not only would it be dark and slimy down here, but you'd also find it hard to breathe due to the lack of oxygen and an increase in methane gas. As the whale's throat muscles constricted in and out to help force you down, you'd also start to feel hydrochloric acid beginning to eat away at your skin
