Wouldn’t it be great to be able to do what you love and get paid? For some influencers, YouTubers, and Podcasters, that’s exactly what they’re doing: getting paid doing what they love. Sure, they have to mention a few brands here and there, squeeze in a little ad in between their episodes, or pose for a few pictures with some products once in a while, but isn’t that a small price to pay to get paid?
In this episode with Ninah Zadeh, we will learn how to achieve that dream by learning to pitch to brands for sponsorships.
Nina Zadeh is the co-founder and Director of Partnerships at Sidewalker Daily, a marketing consulting agency that works on both sides of the Influencer industry. On one hand, Sidewalker Daily consults for brands and public relations firms on their Influencer Marketing initiatives and social media strategy, and on the other, the company works with Influencers and Creators to help them create sustainable businesses online.
Their signature course, the Pitching To Brands Mastercourse, has revolutionized how Creators are pitching to brands and landing paid brand deals.
Nina’s unique position on both sides of the industry helps bridge the gap between brands and creatives to ensure every partnership is a win-win for all involved.

Determining Your Podcast’s Brand Personality
There is a lot of heart that goes into making a podcast: you record, edit, add effects, then post. It's hard work, so it could be a bit disheartening if you feel that your hard work doesn’t get the attention and appreciation it deserves. Having one or ten listeners is of course amazing, but wouldn’t it be great to get hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of listeners?
I was recently interviewed by Tanya, host of the GrowGetters Podcast, and one of the questions she asked was: what are the best growth strategies to grow your podcast in 2022? It was such a good question that I decided to record a whole episode for it, so here we are.

The power of a podcast is undeniable. Podcasting is a powerful way to connect with your audience. It’s a great tool for building trust and establishing yourself as an authority in your field.
If you have a business, podcasting can help you build relationships with potential customers and clients. If you’re an author, a podcast can help you build an audience before the book launch date.
The beauty of podcasting, especially for small businesses, is that it's relatively inexpensive and easy to implement. You don't have to be a celebrity or have a big budget to make an impact on your audience. It also gives you an opportunity to speak directly with your customers on a personal level, which can help build trust and strengthen customer loyalty.

As podcasters, we usually have a lot of things to say. That’s why we started recording podcasts in the first place. We have an opinion, a message, or a thought about a certain topic, product, or service that we want to get into the world. And most podcasters don’t just come up with a single idea for podcasts: they come up with tons. Having multiple podcasts is a great way to showcase all these ideas without having to compromise one.
Running multiple podcasts is no walk in the park, it takes time, hard work, and a lot of planning. But it can also be fun, rewarding, and satisfying knowing that you are able to get your message across to your audience.

Let’s say you have a podcast with a very small audience. How do you monetize?
This is a common question in the podcasting world. Fortunately, there are several ways to make money from a small audience.
I talked about this a lot in the last few seasons. But since then, I’ve learned quite a bit about monetizing a small audience. I would even say that my approach has changed. In this episode, I’m going to share with you some of my learning when it comes to this topic.
There are many different ways to monetize a podcast but some of the overarching strategies you can use are sponsorships, affiliate links, selling your own product or services, and perhaps creating premium content on your podcast. But the question is what brings in the most amount of money the fastest? And what makes sense in the long term?

There are many ways to make your podcast stand out, but there’s no denying that consistency is a huge one.
Consistency helps build trust with your audience. Showing up on a regular basis gives listeners a chance to know what they can expect from you and when they can expect it. And that makes them more likely to keep coming back.
It’s also not just about consistency in terms of frequency. It’s also about being consistent in terms of quality. If you want your podcast to stand out from the crowd, then you need to make sure that every episode is good enough that people will want more from your podcast.

Podcasting has become more popular than ever, but what makes it different from other types of content? For one thing, people can listen to your podcast on the go - whether they’re in their cars, at their desks, at the gym, or even while they’re cooking or doing the laundry. They’ll be able to absorb your message on their schedule. But the real benefits of podcasting are much more than that.
A podcast is a very personal medium, and when listeners feel like they know someone through listening to them, it builds trust: not only will your listeners be more likely to work with you, but they'll also be more likely to recommend you to others.

As some of you might know, I have another podcast called The Digital Nomad Stories. It’s a passion project I started in May of 2020. I started a few episodes but didn’t touch it for months. It was because I wasn’t motivated and I felt like my audience wasn’t growing. Like other podcasters, I experienced what we call pod fade.
Months later, I realized I wanted to bring it back but with some changes. I wanted to be more excited about it, and I also want to make it work for myself. So I started an experiment, and the experiment was releasing new episodes weekly for one year.
In this episode, I want to tell you a little bit more about what I've found out in that one year of consistently producing content. As podcasting has become popular, more and more people are starting their own podcasts. At the moment of recording, there are more than two and a half million podcasts out there. Question is, How can you make your podcast stand out amongst the millions of podcasts there are? And the answer to that is to be unique.
If you want people to listen to you, and to choose your podcast over another podcast, then a reason to do that is to be unique, and show your personality. Give people a reason to listen, more importantly, a reason to stay. Take for example my latest episode, I interviewed a young podcaster, her name is Sophia Lorena. She was able to produce 140 episodes! She was young, had limiting beliefs, but she did it anyway. If you haven’t listened to the episode, I encourage you to listen, it will inspire you.
In this episode, I would like to share with you tips on how to be different and unique as a podcast host. Because in this season, I’d like to share inspirational and empowering content and also give you tips on how to make your podcast better.

There are a lot of questions that come to mind when you are a podcaster, especially when you're just beginning.
This week I spoke to D’Ana Joi Spencer, and we spoke about how to stay focused when you’re a multi-passionate podcaster or entrepreneur. And this involves making decisions. Sometimes, we get so overwhelmed that we end up having a hard time really deciding.
In this episode, I would like to talk about making decisions. How to seek advice but still make a choice based on your gut feeling and what you think is right. And why you need to own your decisions.

Being in a world of podcasting means you might be multi-passionate or have multiple things to do. You could be an entrepreneur, a parent, an artist, and a whole lot more. And sometimes, when you have a lot of things on your plate, focus can become a problem.
In her twenties, D'Ana Joi Spencer once struggled with choosing what she wanted to do. But Joi was a multi-passionate person, and several options were in front of her. Instead of choosing one thing to do, she chose herself. She decided that she wasn’t going to choose, she could be anything she wants to be. Since then, she has been on a mission to rewrite the narrative. Choosing one thing is not the only path to success, you can be multifaceted and multi-passionate and still be successful.
In this episode, Joi shares with us how to stay focused as a multi-passionate creative. How her three-part focus framework can help align your goals, get things done, and leave you accomplished at the same time. Definitely a method podcasters need, to stay focused and productive.

Podcasters focus so much on their stats and when the numbers aren’t where they want them to be, it can mean a quick slide into the podcast graveyard. This is really unfortunate because you can have a monetized podcast with only 1 listener.
My guest today, Serena Dodd, has two podcasts and she is here to share her insights from her podcasting journey, why she decided to start a second podcast, and how to keep going even when the numbers aren’t what you wanted.

If the Public Relations strategy for your podcast consists of social media posts whenever a new episode is released, it’s not going to be enough if you want to grow your show. If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you know how important I think podcast strategy is to your overall success. Over half of the episodes I’ve created for The Podcast Babes Podcast have focused on strategy.

A lot of times people want to start a podcast to get clients. For Lucy, it wasn't that. For her, what was important was actually the networking. She has clients who have listened to her podcast, and they feel connected to her, which makes it clear that she’s the right person to work with them. But that's not her priority.
Lucy’s priority is to serve whoever she's attracted to, whether they become a client or not. Even if they don’t end up working with her, she still changed their lives or made their lives better. I had to ask Lucy how she builds that connection with her listeners and guests and how to make an actual impact with your podcast. Are you curious about her answers?
