Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that is naturally produced in the body and plays a crucial role in protecting cells from damage. It is composed of three amino acids: glutamine, glycine, and cysteine. Glutathione is essential for various bodily functions, including:
Detoxification: It helps detoxify harmful substances in the liver, aiding in the elimination of toxins from the body.
Antioxidant Defense: Glutathione neutralizes free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage cells and contribute to aging and diseases like cancer.
Immune System Support: It boosts immune function by helping white blood cells fight infections and diseases.
Cellular Repair: Glutathione aids in the repair and regeneration of damaged cells, supporting overall cellular health.
Skin Health: It has been linked to skin brightening and reducing oxidative stress that can lead to premature aging.
As people age, the levels of glutathione in the body tend to decrease, making it especially important for mature women to maintain adequate levels. Factors like poor diet, stress, pollution, and certain medical conditions can also deplete glutathione levels.
Increasing glutathione levels can be achieved through diet, such as consuming foods rich in sulfur (e.g., garlic, onions, cruciferous vegetables), or through supplements.

What is a life audit? A life audit is a fairly straightforward concept, and yet many of us get hung up on it simply because the thought alone can seem quite daunting.
Simply put, a life audit is when you take a long, detailed, and honest look at various areas in your life to assess which are and aren’t helping you live to your highest potential.
A life audit involves becoming aware of how you want your life to align with your MISSION, and assessing your current situation to see how it alters from this.
This can involve some honest soul-searching, digging deep, and often making some difficult decisions, so I will warn you that it’s not for the faint-hearted!

Many people today are complexed about whether is a health benefit or detriment to them. It's a catch 22 really.
Sunshine provides numerous benefits to both physical and mental well-being. Here are some of the key advantages:
Vitamin D Synthesis:
Sunlight is a natural source of vitamin D, which is essential for the body to absorb calcium and promote bone health. Exposure to sunlight helps convert cholesterol in the skin into vitamin D.
Mood Enhancement:
Sunlight stimulates the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that contributes to feelings of well-being and happiness. Exposure to natural light can help alleviate symptoms of depression and improve mood.
Regulation of Circadian Rhythms:
Exposure to natural light helps regulate the body's internal clock (circadian rhythm), which in turn regulates sleep-wake cycles, hormonal balance, and other physiological processes. This can contribute to better sleep and overall health.
Improved Sleep Quality:
Exposure to natural light during the day, especially in the morning, can help regulate melatonin production, promoting better sleep at night.
Enhanced Immune Function:
Sunlight exposure has been linked to improvements in immune function. Vitamin D, produced in response to sunlight, plays a crucial role in supporting the immune system.
Skin Health:
Moderate exposure to sunlight can promote the production of vitamin D and improve certain skin conditions. However, it's important to balance this with proper sun protection to prevent skin damage.
Bone Health:
Vitamin D, synthesized through sunlight exposure, is crucial for the absorption of calcium, contributing to strong and healthy bones.
Improved Cognitive Function:
Some studies suggest that exposure to natural light may have positive effects on cognitive function, including better concentration and productivity.
Reduced Risk of Certain Diseases:
Adequate sunlight exposure has been associated with a lower risk of certain diseases, including multiple sclerosis, certain types of cancer, and cardiovascular diseases.
Positive Impact on Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):
Sunlight exposure is often used as a treatment for Seasonal Affective Disorder, a type of depression that occurs at specific times of the year, typically during the fall and winter when there is less natural sunlight.
While sunlight has numerous benefits, it's important to balance exposure with proper sun safety practices to avoid the risk of sunburn and long-term skin damage.
My best advice to you is to go out early in the morning while the sun is beginning to rise or later in the evening when its soon to set to still reap the benefits of the sun while it is at it's least strongest. This is the safest times of not wearing sunscreen to get the vitamin D while limiting your risk to the high intensity rays

Because not everyone is happy and excited about the Holidays. There are people out there who are lonely and sad who feel worse during the Holidays.
I want to honor those people by saying I see you, I hear you, and I appreciate your openness to this topic.

Sugar comes in many forms beyond the white powder we often associate it as. Some are claimed to be better than others, and some have names you wouldn’t even recognize on an ingredient label. The whole subject of sugar in the health industry is confusing!
“It’s okay in moderation.”
“Your body isn’t designed to digest sugars.”
“Sugar-free products are always healthy.”
“Artificial sweeteners are worse.”
“You need sugar for energy.”
“Sugar is addictive.”
All of these are common claims to do with sugar, opposing one another. One thing is for certain: We are consuming more sugar in our diets than we EVER have before.
Studies have shown that consuming a large amount of fructose can cause a rise in bad cholesterol (LDL), blood glucose, insulin levels, and abdominal obesity. These findings were apparent in as little as 10 weeks.
Please note that all of these factors are major risk factors in developing heart disease.
Here are some more studies linking sugar consumption with heart disease:

While we’re all somewhat familiar with the nagging voice of guilt in our heads that accompanies an excessive or indulgent meal, it’s another thing entirely to HEED that voice and stop while our body is at a comfortably satiated level.
Stress-eating can be defined in other words as ‘emotional eating,’ or eating to compensate for, or as an alternative to, dealing with emotions.
Harvard Health has issued a fascinating article which details some of the reasons that stress causes overeating in adult Americans.

Let's start at the very beginning. What are chakras, and how do they function within our bodies?
Chakras, in Sanskrit, translates to "wheels" or "circles." They are energy centers located along the central channel of our bodies, aligned with the spine. Think of them as spinning vortexes of energy that connect our physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. While there are many chakras throughout the body, we mainly focus on the seven primary ones.

Tapping is a self-help technique that involves gently tapping on specific meridian points on the body, while focusing on specific thoughts, emotions, or issues we want to address. It's based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which believes that the body has energy pathways, or meridians, through which energy flows. When we experience emotional or physical distress, these energy pathways can become blocked, leading to imbalances and discomfort. Tapping helps restore the flow of energy by tapping on specific points, which stimulates these meridians and releases the blockages. Everyone in their lifetime will go through some kind of experience that will be devastating. It's inevitable. Whether it's a death, a life threatening illness, divorce, job loss, etc.
There's a saying, "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger" I believe that, and I also believe that each experience become a lesson that we needed to learn. At some point, we have to let go, and accept what has happened, and we need to move past it, and make our lives better. A new improved version of ourself.
Unfortunately, many people will remain stuck in that shit and it will define them, and they will remain the victim of the circumstances of their life. In order to grow, you need to rise above it, and that's what today's talk is all about.

Cupping, a therapy developed thousands of years ago, involves the placement of glass, bamboo, or plastic cups on the skin followed by the process of creating a vacuum inside each cup by suctioning out the air to lift and suck the tissue underneath into the cup. The purpose of the therapy is to create better circulation, relieve pain, and release toxins from the body through the skin. This happens by using pressure to pull the tissue, skin, and muscles upward, thus expanding the capillaries to increase blood flow and oxygen to areas in need of therapy. Additionally, the process of cupping promotes a relaxation response in many people, which is a great method for relieving stress. Here is an example of dry cupping using the pump method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLVOmF8Ga5o Here is an example of massage cupping using the fire technique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIEakMcIQ8w This video demonstrates cupping for cellulite using silicone cups for a controlled suction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsbeWhEwY0Y Here’s a quick video demonstrating how cupping might be used to help for digestion problems or concerns: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZCCEP6VFbk

Today I am talking about Kundalini Yoga and in particular a breathing technique that is called Breath of Fire. I was introduced to Kundalini Yoga years ago, probably in the early 90’s, and I had some DVD’s that I used to play all the time. Have I dated myself yet? Lol Anyway, over the years I moved away from it, but always continued practicing yoga, but just not that style of yoga any longer,
I decided about a month ago to switch up my routine and go back to practicing kundalini yoga. The very first time I tried Breath of Fire again, I couldn’t believe how good I felt after I stopped. Meanwhile while I was doing it, and I was thinking to myself that I hope I wasn’t going to pass out. What I found out about Breath of Fire and all of it’s benefits.
Breath of Fire Yoga Benefits
Expanding your lung capacity and activating the deepest regions of your lungs that aren't used for typical breathing. Strengthening your vital strength and nervous system. Increasing your resistance to stress, Restoring balance to your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
Come take a listen and let me know your thoughts on Kundalini Yoga, and Breath of Fire. I love it.

Stem cells are the body's raw materials — cells from which all other cells with specialized functions are generated. Under the right conditions in the body or a laboratory, stem cells divide to form more cells called daughter cells.
What exactly do stem cells do?
Sometimes they’re called the body's “master cells,” Stemcells are the cells that develop into blood, brain, bones, and all of thebody's organs. They have the potential to repair, restore, replace, andregenerate cells, and could possibly be used to treat many medicalconditions and diseases.

Self-esteem is how we view ourselves, our own value, and our sense of worthiness. It is a critical component of our decision making, risk-taking, and motivation. Those with lower self-esteem tend to believe they are not as worthy of things as others, such as achieving their personal goals. While those with higher self-esteem embody more resiliency to overcome obstacles because they are sure they are worth the desirable outcome. Power poses are simply the body language we embody when interacting with people that emulates AND creates confidence. A food allergy is defined as “an unpleasant or dangerous immune system reaction after a certain food is eaten.” More than 170 foods have been reported to cause allergic reactions, and an estimated 15 million Americans suffer from at least one food allergy. In contrast, food sensitivities are not an immune reaction but have a wider range of repercussions on the body. The tricky part is that food allergies and sensitivities manifest in a number of different ways and while they are usually self-diagnosable, they can be easily misinterpreted. Do you suffer from: Digestive Distress Respiratory Issues Rashes Water Retention Acne Migraines Congestion Fatigue Irritability Brain Fog? Ginger is a root that was originally found in China. You may have already noticed that ginger is a staple ingredient in most immune-boosting supplements and teas and there’s a good reason for that! Ginger influences the immune system response and activation of T-cells, which play a central role in our ability to respond to illness and infection.
Recipe for Ginger Tea
Simply mix fresh ginger and local honey into hot water to get the most out of the anti-aging benefits. Honey has natural anti-bacterial properties to help reduce inflammation, while ginger is rich in gingerol, the antioxidant that helps protect against collagen breakdown.
What you’ll need:
• About 2 inches of fresh raw ginger, to taste
• 1 1/2 to 2 cups water
• 1 to 2 tablespoons honey, to taste
• Optional:1/2 fresh lemon or lime, juiced, to taste
To make the tea:
Peel fresh ginger, either slice thin or shred to maximize the surface area
Boil the ginger in water for 10-20 minutes depending on the strength you want
Remove from heat, add honey and optional lemon or lime juice to taste
Tip:
Use plenty of ginger and honey for an extra flavorful tea

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), is a more advanced, chronic form of acid reflux.

Neck and shoulder pain is such a prevalent issue, I wanted to share with you some acupressure points for everyday maintenance. You may have noticed the use of acupressure instead of acupuncture. That was intentional. A stroke happens when blood flow to an area of the brain is cut off. Blood carries oxygen to cells in the body; when those cells aren’t able to reach the brain, brain cells begin to die.
There are four major signs of stroke that you should be able to recognize:
F- Face Drooping: Ask the person to smile, does one side droop?
A - Arm Weakness: Ask the person to raise both arms, does one arm drift downward?
S - Speech Difficulty: Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence - are the words slurred?
T - Time to Call for Help: If a person shows any of these signs, call 911 or your local emergency hotline.

And for today’s topic to better health, we need to look at how sleep impacts our health. Sleep is crucial for maintaining good health, sharp mind, balanced emotional health as you will see as we go through this talk. According to the National Sleep Foundation, nearly half of all Americans report that inadequate sleep interferes with their daily activities at least once a week. As a general rule, if you feel drowsy during the day, even during boring activities, you haven't had enough sleep! This study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22612017) found lavender oil aromatherapy has so many benefits. The use of bergamot to relieve tension and anxiety has been used in Italian folk medicine. (More modern research backs the traditional methods, check out the findings: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25784877 You can blend any of the oils discussed for a more potent sleep aid. Today I am going to touch on a disease topic that is a very sensitive topic because it about addiction, and in particular alcoholism. But I feel that it is a necessary discussion to have because it is a disease, and it needs to be talked about just like any other disease I have spoken about so far.
I believe For anyone out there listening to this episode, it’s because you need to hear it. I may just have the message that someone on here listening is struggling with.
For you, I hope this adds value and comfort for you to know that you are not alone and there is plenty of help out there available to you. If you are a loved one of an alcoholic who loves this person so much, it is destroying you to watch the self-destruction that is taking place, and you are helpless to do anything about it. You are as powerless over the alcoholic just like the alcoholic is powerless over alcoholic. The only thing you do have power over is reaching out and asking for help.

What is heart disease? According to Medical News Today, “Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the U.S. and also the leading cause of death worldwide… Heart disease is a term used to describe several conditions, many of which are related to plaque buildup in the walls of the arteries. As the plaque builds up, the arteries narrow, this makes it more difficult for blood to flow and creates a risk for heart attack or stroke.”
Now that we are all clear on that, you may be asking yourself how this relates to you. Let’s move on to discuss who is at higher risk for heart disease.

The term sustainability has many different definitions. Here are just a few: “Sustainability is the ability to exist constantly. In the 21st century, it refers generally to the capacity for the biosphere and human civilization to coexist.” To live “in a way that can be maintained at a certain rate or level.” “Sustainability focuses on meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. The concept of sustainability is composed of three pillars: economic, environmental, and social—also known informally as profits, planet, and people.” To simplify the term, let’s think of sustainability as a way to live with less negative impact and with the intent of creating a better world for future generations. Reflecting on 2022 for me was a very good year. It was even, no great highs and no great lows, but very productive in moving my business forward and for progressing on staying true to my calling of helping midlife women to achieve optimal wellness for many years to come through alternative healing modalities. I don't proclaim to be a doctor or to treat or cure anyone of disease. I believe in seeking out a health professional for any health-related issues that come up. I like to educate people on ways to stay proactive in maintaining good health. My intention for 2023 is to provide more valuable content to do just that both on my podcast and in my health coaching programs.

Reiki is the practice of using energy, believed to be the life force of all living things, to relax and heal the mind and body. The practice has its roots in Japanese culture, and the word itself can be broken down to give meaning to the practice. The word Rei, in Japanese, means “universal life”, and Ki, means “energy” - together “universal life energy” is the basis for the art of Reiki. Reiki is not a massage, or a meditation, but rather a transfer of energy between a practitioner and a receiver through handwork. Maybe you are wondering, “But what does this mean?” Stay with me... Here is a video demonstrating a typical Reiki (chair) session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4Gf-UVGiXY The hand positions are essentially the same as when you are giving Reiki to other people. What is Season Depression? Seasonal depression, or seasonal affective disorder (SAD), is a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons. The condition typically begins in the fall and continues into the winter months. However, some forms can cause depression in the spring or early summer.
Approximately 5 percent of the U.S. population experiences seasonal depression.

If you have never tried using a vision board, I'm going to encourage you to do that. It could be anything that you're looking to achieve, and give yourself a date that you will accomplish it. I do a vision board every year since 2013, and I save each one together. I use a poster board and I roll it up and put in the far right corner of my room which is the wealth area of the room according to the bagua map from Feng Shui.
It may take a while. I'm not saying that this is magic. But I believe that when you set the intention and you put it down in ink, And you set a date. You are attracting this energy to you.
You can feel the excitement of what it will be like when you finally achieve what you've written down. And that's what really gets the energy flowing. Like attracts like, and when your thoughts are about a particular thing, your thoughts attracts exactly what it is that you focused on. And that's the reason why, if you focus on negative things, you tend to get more of the same. Instead focus on the positive outcomes for a wonderful life and focus on what you want to achieve in your life, and put it on your vision board. When you write down on your vision board what it is that you want, you are asking the universe to bring it to you. Feel what it's going to feel like when you actually receive it.

Quick and easy tools you can implement into your life to make it more manageable, and live an easy stress free life.
In today’s episode I am going to be talking about the Practice of mindfulness and how it plays a role in healing and living a happy centered and balanced life.
‘The practice of mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now”.
Mindfulness, in theory, is extremely straightforward. Simply put, it’s the practice of being fully present, fully aware, and fully able to engage with one’s current situation or environment.
Why then, does it seem so elusive?
Stress can affect your physical and mental health, but the good news is that there are ways to manage stress, and if your life is very stressful, and whose is not today, you should make stress management a priority in your life. In today's episode I talk about letting go of clutter, and how it relates to our health and wellbeing. When you clear the clutter, you open up the energy and allow it to flow freely. You will begin to see improvements in your life, and you will begin to manifest more of what you want, while releasing what no longer serves you.
If you are like most people, you have more than just a better check-up in mind when you think about losing weight.
Perhaps you have been avoiding the mirror because you expect to not necessarily like what you see. Perhaps you just don’t have the energy to keep up with your kids, grandkids, or active dog anymore.
Whatever triggered your decision to burn the pounds, spending some time with your “why” is essential for strategizing how to stay motivated to lose weight or pursue any health goal.
Once you’ve found your “why” for living a healthier life, take the time to internalize it by writing down all your reasons, from the obvious to the not-so-obvious, and read them daily.
My podcast is for midlife and mature women who are noticing changes in their body due to aging, and are looking for simple easy lifestyle changes that will give them positive results to better health and wellbeing.

However, of course keep in mind, there is some subjectivity to any list like this.
Everyone’s skin shares many similarities, but each person’s skin — and what each person would like to improve with their skin — is also unique. As such, certain ingredients may rank higher for you personally.

When you eat the right foods, get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of healthy fluids, and avoid excessive sun exposure, you can support healthy skin and a healthy life. Your Skin is your body’s largest organ, and one of the most crucial parts of your immune system. When you take proper care of it, like using clean skincare products, the most gratifying reward may be that you look younger and healthier. But healthy skin is more than skin-deep. Dry skin brushing is perfect for everyone because it involves stimulating the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system moves lymph, which is a fluid that contains infection fighting white blood cells, and it flows throughout the body. This acts as a drainage system of the body which helps to remove toxins, waste and other unwanted materials such as viruses and bacteria which is called Ama that we want to flush out of our body.
The lymphatic system is very similar to the circulatory system which moves our blood, but unlike the circulatory system which has a pump, the heart, to move the blood the lymphatic system does not have a pump so it depends on us moving our body, or dry skin brushing which moves the lymph through the body and out.
Ayurveda Medicine in one form or another that can help you to begin feeling and looking better. For those who are unfamiliar with Ayurveda medicine, it is a healing modality that has been around for over 3,000 from India. the traditional Hindu system of medicine, which is based on the idea of balance in bodily systems and uses diet, herbal treatment, and yogic breathing. The word Ayurveda is a conjugation of two Sanskrit words 'ayus', meaning 'life' and 'veda', meaning 'science', thus Ayurveda literally means the 'science of life'. Unlike other medicinal systems, Ayurveda focuses more on healthy living than treatment of diseases.
