Conscious Butterflies is created to unleash the alpha in you. For those who are ready to be transparent with themselves and the world – for people who know they desire more out of life and are ready to drop the excuses and do something about it. In each episode, Emily Dugan will give you raw advice learned from her own life journey that will help you spark motivation, build confidence, and fight for your conscious desires – no matter how wild they may seem.
Hey beautiful butterflies. Today’s episode is your gentle reminder that you’re actually better at your job (and life) than you think you are. We’re talking about imposter feelings, self-doubt, and all those little lies your brain tells you when you forget how capable you really are.
✨ Key Talking Points
1. Do you question yourself often? Good. That means you care. It means you want to grow, and people who reflect deeply tend to perform better — even when they don’t see it.
2. Do people come to you for help? They do because they trust you. You’ve built credibility just by showing up consistently, being reliable, and giving thoughtful advice — even when you doubt yourself.
3. Do you cringe at your past work? That’s called growth, baby. The fact that you can see how far you’ve come means you’ve evolved. You’re not stuck — you’re improving.
4. You handle feedback maturely. You listen, you adapt, you evolve — that’s emotional intelligence at work. Most people avoid feedback, but you face it with grace.
5. You compare yourself to the best. It’s not arrogance — it’s ambition. You’re wired to want more, and that drive will take you far. Just remember, comparison is fuel, not a finish line.
6. Inefficiency frustrates you. That’s your leadership peeking through. You see how things could be smoother, smarter, better — and that awareness is powerful.
7. You know there’s so much more to learn. That humility keeps you sharp. The best people never stop learning — and that’s you.
💌 Closing Message
Whatever you’re doing in life... your job, your relationships, your healing...you’re doing better than you think. Talk to the person who needs to hear this today. Send them this episode, or just remind them: you’re already growing, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
Start your day with peace and thankfulness. A morning prayer narrated by host Emily Dugan.
Guys—it’s finally here! My full talk from Camp Social 🏕️
Three years ago, I promised myself I’d take a solo travel trip every year. It started in Costa Rica, Santa Barbara, and this year’s adventure led me straight to the Poconos for the ultimate Parent Trap–themed summer girls camp: Camp Social.
Think: new friends from across the country (and the world 🌎), reliving that childhood camp magic, laughing until your stomach hurts, trying new things, and completely detaching from life’s stressors.
Forget the bar nights and crowded festivals, this is where freedom lives. It’s late-night talks under the stars, campfire energy, messy fun, and the kind of soul-refresh you didn’t know you needed.
Press play and come with me to camp—it’s time to feel like a kid again!
So, you’re not 6 anymore. But tell that to the version of you who still wants to slam a door, yell a little too loud, or hit someone with the silent treatment when you're pissed.
In this episode, I’m talking about anger—mine, yours, the kind we were never taught how to deal with. Because I still feel it. I still let it build up sometimes. I still want people to know how mad I am. And sometimes… I act like it.
But I’m learning (slowly) that anger isn’t just this big scary thing to stuff down or explode out. It’s actually a huge neon sign pointing toward what I care about. What I value. What I love. And what feels off.
We’re digging into:
If you've ever been too emotional, too reactive, or too quiet-but-deadly, this one’s for you. We’re not shaming the rage my conscious butterflies.......we’re learning how to let it guide us back to what matters..

🦋 Show Notes:
In this raw and soulful solo episode, Emily invites us to explore what it really means to live fully and be seen. Living isn’t about playing it safe—it’s about facing the discomfort that comes when you finally allow your true self to step forward.
She opens up about the beauty and chaos of chasing your purpose—even when it means falling on your face, being misunderstood, or feeling alone in your mission. Because when you align your actions with your desires, magic happens. You start showing up—not perfectly, but powerfully. Not fearless, but bold.
“If you’ve got the football, you’re going to get tackled.”
This powerful metaphor anchors the episode: when you dare to carry the ball—your dreams, your voice, your mission—you will face resistance. But the goal is the touchdown, not the tackle. And don’t forget: there are always people cheering you on from the sidelines—the mentors, the friends, the strangers you inspire just by showing up.
Emily reflects on:
This episode is a reminder that being visible is vulnerable—but it’s also where growth, connection, and freedom begin.
✨ If you’re on a journey to live louder, love deeper, and lead with purpose, this one’s for you.
2025 isn’t the year for surface-level resolutions or pretending we’ve got it all figured out. It’s about looking in the mirror and asking, “What do I really want? Who am I when no one’s watching?” This year, I’m choosing to lay the foundation for a life that feels good, not just looks good. I want that for you too—a life where you stop running from responsibility, align with your values, and take bold steps forward. How can your mind be the vehicle for your transformation this year? Tune in for 5-6 mindset shifts that are non-negotiable for a more aligned year ahead.
Helpless. Overwhelmed. Not feeling accomplished enough? We've all experienced it. We all struggle with it, and the holidays and winter time (especially in Ohio) seem to bring it out of us even more. We tend to focus on all the things we didn't accomplish, instead of finding evidence in being exactly where we are suppose to be. But something that eliminates all of those icky feelings in in instant? HOPE. Here's five tips to find hope no matter where you are in life right now. Hint....one of them has to deal with eating a yummy snack.

Hi Conscious Butterfly! Let’s get real for a second. How many times have you felt like you’re just existing—showing up for everyone else, but completely ignoring that deeper part of you that dreams, that envisions a bigger, more vibrant life? I know what that feels like because I’ve been there. Caught up in the hustle of family, work, and life, we push those dreams aside, thinking they’re unrealistic. But LISTEN TO ME WHEN I SAY... when we doubt our own power, we’re also doubting how God moves through us.
If you underestimate yourself, you're also underestimating God.
In this episode, we’re peeling back those layers—going beyond the surface of who we are. We’re diving into the dreams and visions we’ve neglected for so long, and we’re asking the hard questions. What happens when we finally prioritize ourselves? When we stop playing small and let God’s purpose flow through us? It’s scary, I know. But staying stuck in doubt is scarier.
We’ll end with some deep, heart-opening exercises to reconnect with your truth. What have you been hiding from yourself? Where are you not living in full alignment with the vision God has placed in your heart? This is your time to break through the fear, embrace your dreams, and step fully into who you’re meant to be. It’s going to get real, and it’s going to be powerful. Come join me <333

This mini episode is all about accepting what you’re not and amplifying everything you are. Own your space and start attracting opportunities that actually fit the life you're stepping into.
You don’t need to have it all figured out... but it is your job and your job only to start thinking, moving, dressing, and showing up as that next-level version of yourself. The rest? It’ll fall into place.
Let's get honest about something we all crave—a fresh chapter, a new version of ourselves—but here’s the thing: you don’t have to wait. You can start right now.
This episode is the pep talk you need to lead your life today as the person you’re becoming—how to bring those new beliefs into your everyday routine to create space for the future you want.

Listen to a sneak peek of my FIRST EVER in-person event. This episode is all about self-love. I love this message so much and didn't want to keep it for just the event...and to be honest wanted to trial run my workshop before the big day :) The words self-love are constantly thrown out but no one is talking about what it is, why it's so hard to maintain, and what we can actually do to embody it deeply. Come play around with your desires, enter a non-judgement zone, and tap into what makes you so special. I promise by the end of this episode you will find a million reasons to love yourself, and learn healthy habits that break down the barriers that hold you back from being in love with exactly who you are.
Your fear of being seen is holding you back from serving others. This episode I get brutally honest about what holds us back from being the most alive version of ourselves. Learn exactly how I discovered what my God given gift was and how you can discover yours too. Get real and uncomfortable about your current reality with me, and tap into simple exercises that will lead you down the path you've been trying to chase for so long. Get comfortable with not caring what people think and just show up. It's not for you, it's for all of us. GOD SPEED.
The best gift you could give yourself this Christmas is patience & consistency. If you haven't listened to CB podcast in awhile, catch up with me on this one!!! I talk about family stress around the holidays, falling into false narratives, giving yourself grace when you can't break bad habits, getting your mojo back and more. <3
Jealousy is the ickiest feeling. And it's really just a mask of the sadness we feel from our insecurities and constant instinct to to compare or judge ourselves. This podcast is here to remind you to dig deep enough to bring out the essence of who you are. Prioritize your progress of your destination rather than the external measures we consume & perceive as true. Celebrate the milestones and stop believing the narratives your subconscious has wired you to accept as true. Stop coming from a place of lack when you are literally the most abundant, powerful co-creator, built with an X factor to move, do, change, impact, inspire, and do what you do because it makes you feel good. When you declare YOUR definition of happiness & success emotionally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, you can't be shaken by external measures and averages. You instead embody your values and exemplify them into reality, taking a pioneered path to your divine destination. GOD SPEED.

I recorded this episode a few days before I left for Costa Rica. When we do new things, especially like going on a solo trip to the jungle to meet strangers, we hold ourselves back. Sometimes our excitement and fear can have the same reaction in your body, but our fear is rooted deep in our conditioning to work hard for rewards. We get taught that "soul experiences" or "vacations" are experiences you deserve once or twice a year to chill out. But the truth is, you having fun, you exploring yourself, life, countries, and possibilities is absolutely priceless and you deserve to live that life. You deserve to embrace it, then go out and be the light for others. Don't let society get it twisted...the more fun you have, the better life gets. ♡♡Conscious Butterflies Hotline (link below)📱🦋♡♡ Ask me questions, share your experiences, tell me your highs and lows. Identify your fears, unleash your fire. In this episode I take you through my childhood fears and how I identified the same fear in my adult life. Learn how to channel your insecurities to find purpose and take the first step to doing something about it. Let the LIGHT shine through your WOUNDS. My whole life I've wanted something to own, something to watch myself grow in and this past weekend it all came to fruition. Your fear isn't a bad thing, it's a gateway to the most beautiful realization of your life...that you were made for this. You were made to defeat the hurdle that has always held you back from doing what lights you up. When you finally get the courage to get to the bottom of that fear, you're going to flourish and never look back. Go shake up the world, take your shot, be accountable for your dreams, and give yourself grace for all the other times you gave up. It's all part of the process <3

From dreamer to achiever. In this episode I talk about how shifting your identity can help you reach your goals. Habits don't change who we are unless we make them part of our identify. You don't need to run a marathon to call yourself a runner. You don't need success to prove your worthiness. We don't level up by keeping our dreams for ourselves. If you want a new life, you have to be committed to changing your identify. And in order to do that, you have to change your narrative. I am______. If you are too scared to speak it out loud, how will the rest of the world know to call you that? When our dreams live in our head, we only work on them when it's convenient, and we find ourself in the same places we were last year. Change your identity, change your life. ..Conscious Butterflies Hotline (link below)📱🦋..https://linktr.ee/consciousbutterflies..Ask me questions, share your experiences, tell me your highs and lows. If we did the things we truly wanted to do, we would continue to elevate our lives and our perspectives. But instead, we fall into the trap of "just enough". We let go of the idea of having a job that inspires us, a relationship that brings out the best in us, a bank account that says drop the 9-5 and take that trip to Greece (whenever the hell you want to). We are 1000% in control of eliminating "stuck" from our vocabulary when it comes to talking about our lives. You're not stuck, you just choose comfortability over courage. This episode will walk you through steps to change that. Conscious Butterflies Hotline (link below)📱🦋Ask me questions, share your experiences, tell me your highs and lows. Why do we all stop doing what lights us up? Why is it so hard for us to try new things, and actually stick to them? Why can't we make new friends? Learn to let go of your narrative & outcomes to make space for what your intuition has been telling you this whole time. Go to that dance class, cut off that friendship, actually make that investment in yourself. You already know what you want to chase after, but your lack of courage has grown into a mound of excuses that make you feel inadequate, overwhelmed, and incapable. This episode is to tell you exactly how to break out of it. I promise you don’t have to have success to show up.
You don’t need proof for people to listen to you. You are abundantly gifted and filled with so much power. Your way is the only fucking way you need to care about. It doesn’t matter that there’s a million other people doing it, or you don’t know how to start. All that matters is that you show up. That’s all any of us have to do, show up. Make it your motto this next year. Make it feel good to be so scared of your dreams. Make it a point to talk about your dreams, even if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Just do yourself and the world a favor and show up.

I discuss the importance of recognizing and taking ownership in the things we desire most and shutting out the voice in our head who tells us otherwise.
In this episode I talk about my journey of learning to fight my devils and trust my angels. The devil is our mind and all the BS we've accepted as truths. The angel is our intuition. The fight is everlasting but if we chase after clarity, let go of regret/doubt, stop standing still, and just TRUST, we become mother fucking unstoppable!!

In this episode I talk about the battle of smiling through the hard times and learning how to be still even when you want to rush your desired outcome. Learning to trust the process isn't easy, but when you remember that your personal joy is always at an arms reach, it will empower you beyond what you can even imagine.
In this episode I talk about getting real with your expectations. If you wake up and are unclear on what you expect from yourself, you might have realized that you’ve become subject to everyone else’s expectations. But when you become clear on your own, you see clearly, and YOU have the upper hand in deciding if everyone else’s expectations are even worth caring for.
In this episode I discuss the power in owning your guilt instincts. Rather than feeling the shame and burden of it, we can move in real-time to help guide us towards limitless outcomes and opportunities. When we stop giving ourselves time to let fear creep into our minds, and instead let confidence flood in, the change we've longed to happen, happens.
In this episode I open up about my childhood dream to become a Butterfly Doctor, and how I learned to live that dream out loud in my adult life...one way or another. In this episode I open up about my journey of getting to the root of my self invalidation and provide exercises that will help you break through your own internal barriers.
In this episode I open up about my journey of owning the things I was good at and discovering how to break the routine of making decisions based on what was expected of me, and start making decisions that were aligned with what empowered me. Ultimately, focusing on how to go after what you desire, but being bold enough to admit you're not an expert at it...for now.
In this episode I open up about my journey of starting Conscious Butterflies and the importance of me setting boundaries to make that happen. I talk about why boundaries create our identify and how powerful it is to claim our own narrative by setting them.
