Hi! I'm Anusha. Have you ever tried to read the Bible and found it too hard and daunting? Well, let's read together! If you're looking to read the Bible through The New Testament within the next few months, you are at the right place. In the course of this podcast, we would be reading through the books of the Bible from The Message translation which is "The Bible in contemporary language". Let's hang out and explore the Word of God together. I'm sure we will get along great.
Episode 94 : Reading through 1Corinthians chapter 3 and 4. Paul writes to the Corinthians about divisions in the Church and what it takes to be deciples and ministers of Christ.
Episode 93. Reading through 1 Corinthians chapters 1 and 2. Paul's first letter to the church in Corinth. Paul addresses the issues in the early Corinthian church as a loving father and admonises the people as a pastor.
Episode 92 Reading through Romans chapter 16. Paul gives his final greetings and commends the believers for their faithful service in the body of Christ.
Episode 91 - Reading through Romans 14 and 15. Paul writes to the church in Rome introducing his teachings to them. As the church has doubts as to how they must live, Paul gives them sound suggestions and spiritually accurate advice on day to day life.
Episode 90 Reading through Romans chapter 12 and 13. These are profound scriptures stating God's will for the way we must live as Christians believing in God.
Episode 89. Reading Romans 11. Who are the Chosen people? They are the ones who know God. They are the ones called by God to accomplish a certain purpose. God is alive in them, He works in and through them. You are the Chosen!
Episode 88 - Reading through Romans chapter 9 and 10. Paul wrote about the spiritual position of the Isrealites and God's promise for the salvation of mankind.
Episode 87. Reading through Romans chapter 8. The love of God did everything for us through His Son Jesus Christ. We are the children of God and have an inheritance through Christ Jesus. Nothing will ever separate us from the love of God.
Episode 86 Reading through Romans chapter 6 and 7. Dealing with fear, sin and death. Jesus took death and sin on the cross and nailed it there. He is victorious and a conqueror, we are more than conquerors.
Episode 85 Reading through Romans chapter 4 and 5. God made things right for us by His generosity. All we had to do was believe in Him. Abraham proved this by believing in God and His promises. Adam in his sin was dealing death to mankind while Jesus by his death on the cross dealt life to all mankind.
Episode 84, Reading through Romans 3. Questions about religion, law, faith and salvation are answered as Paul writes to the Church in Rome. Salvation is a gift from God to save us from sin and reconcile us back to Himself.
Episode 83. Reading through Romans 1 and 2. Paul wrote to the people in Rome, admonishing them to live a Godly life. We are not to ignore the ways of God or this will lead to a downward spiral.
Episode 82. Reading through Acts 26, 27 and 28. Paul under goes persecution, imprisonment, accusationsand trials in full swing. He stands his ground and appeals to Ceasar. Paul is sent to Rome where his story is concluded.
Episode 81. Reading through Acts 24 and 25. Paul is imprisoned and trialed over and over, facing crowds, governors and kings. He continues to defend The Way, and his belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Episode 23. Reading through Acts chapter 22 and 23. Paul is under trial in Jerusalem. He faces the mob and the Governor. He shares his conversion story. Paul is then escorted to Rome by the Calvary.
Episode 79. Reading through Acts 21. Paul makes his journey to Jerusalem saying goodbye to all his deciples along the way. He is not afraid, he has made up his mind to fulfill the plan of God for his life.
Episode 78. Reading Acts chapter 20. Paul wraps up his journey by encouraging the people and giving them fresh hope. He prepares to travel back to Jerusalem determined to accomplish what God has started in his life.
Episode 77 Reading through Acts 18 and 19. Paul plants churches in Corinth and Ephesus.
Episode 76. Reading through Acts chapters 16 and 17. Paul and Silas travel to spread the gospel. God leads them to Macedonia and other European town where they are faced with diverse situations all proving the grace of God and the necessity of the gospel.
Episode 75. Reading through Acts chapter 14 and 15. Paul and Barnabas accomplish their missionary journey and continue to spread the good news. They build and encourage the churches and deal with persecutions. Non Jewish people receive salvation and eternal life.
Episode 74. Reading through Acts 13. Paul and Barnabas are ordained and sent on a missionary journey. They share the gospel of Jesus in various towns. This is the beginning of church planting.
Episode 73. Reading through Acts 11 and 12. Peter shares the revelation to the fellow deciples. The early church begins. This is a history lesson. God is actively taking part in creating His church, the Christians.
Episode 72. Reading through Acts chapter 10. Peter sees a vision and receives a revelation. Cornelious sends for Peter. His household and neighbors are saved. The Holy Spirit is purred out on them.
Episode 71. Reading through Acts chapter 9. Saul sees Jesus in a vision, on the way to Damascus. Jesus has chosen Saul to be His representative to the people. Peter performs a miracle and Tabitha is raised from the dead.
Episode 70. Reading through Acts Chapter 8. Philip proclaims the word of God to the Samaritans. Simon the wizard trys to bribe the Apostles for the gift of God. An Ethiopian eunuch receives Jesus and is baptized.
Episode 69: Reading through Acts chapter 7. Stephen who was full of the Holy Spirit addresses the people and poached the word of God. He speaks about the history of Isreal and how God has always been with them. He is stoned to death. Giving up his life Stephen becomes a martyr for Christ.
Episode 68: reading through Acts chapter 5 and 6. We see certain events that took place in the early church. This helps us understand how things were and how the Spirit of God was working among the people.
Episode 67 Reading throug Acts 3 and 4. The crippled man is healed at the Beautiful gate. Peter and John are arrested for preaching in the name of Jesus Christ. The early church begins to grow.
Episode 66 Reading through Acts 2. The Apostles contiue to pray and worship God waiting to receive the gift as Jesus had promised them. There inthe upper room, a strong wind overcomes them and the Holy Spirit arrives and takes His place in them. They all start speaking in tongues. The onlookers are amazed wondering if they were drunk. Peter addressed the crowd and three thousand people were saved.
Episode 65. Reading through Acts 1. Jesus gives His deciples the great commission and ascends up into heaven. The deciples begin their mission. This was the start of the early church.
Episode 64. Reading through John chapter 20 and 21. Jesus's deciples find an empty tomb and are looking for Jesus. Jesus is risen from the dead and makes an appearance to his deciples, leading them to believe that He is the Savior. Jesus greats His deciples on the sea shore while they are returning from a long night of fishing.
Episode 63 reading through the book John chapter 17 and 18. Jesus is betrayed in the garden. He is sent to the authorities for interrogation and turned in to be crucified. Peter denied Jesus 3 times.
Episode 62 - Happy New Year 2022! Here's a first-hand message from God about His word and how it helps us prosper. Let's apply it through this year, continue to meditate on it, and hence prosper in all things.
Reading through John 17, Jesus prays for his disciples and followers, promising us the very presence of God to be with us.
Episode 61 - Reading through John chapter 15 & 16. The last supper and the conversation afterword. Jesus reassures His disciples about the things to come. The Holy Spirit will come to be with us and we will not be left alone.
Episode 60 Reading through John chapter 13 & 14. Jesus has the last supper with His disciples. He sets an example to them by service. He washed their feet, explaining that they were called to serve and not be served. Jesus is disturbed and points out to Judas who is now ready to betray Jesus.
Episode 59 - Reading through John chapter 12. Mary anoints the feet of Jesus with very expensive oil and wipes them with her hair. Jesus explains that the light is within us and we are the light. We should walk in the light and not in darkness.
Episode 58 - Reading through John 11. Jesus is called when Lazarus falls ill. He does not go at first and says that Lazarus has fallen asleep, meaning that he died, so that God will be glorified. Here we see Jesus as truly God and truly man, His emotions and feelings are evident. Lazarus is raised from the dead. Jesus is life and resurrection itself...
Episode 57 - Reading through John chapter 9 and 10. Jesus heals the blind man by making a paste of clay. The man being healed was rigorously questioned by the Pharisees. Jesus deliberates that He is the Good Shepherd who came so that His sheep (people) may follow Him.
Episode 56 Reading through John chapter 8. The people try to trap Jesus by condemning a woman caught in adulatory. He does not succumb to the people's desires and puts the decision on them instead. Jesus then explains what the law says about God being our Father and how we are descendants of Abraham. Do not miss God in your life.
Episode 55 Reading through John chapter 7. The ongoing dialogue at the feast of Tabernacles. The people debate and talk contentiously about Jesus trying to determine if He is the promised Messiah. Some believe and some don't. Jesus discusses His authenticity and describes the infilling of the Holy Spirit, whom God has promised.
Episode 54 Reading through John chapter 6. Across the sea of Galilee, Jesus is followed by a huge crowd of people. He feeds five thousand people with two fish and five loves of bread. Jesus walks on water. He later teaches His disciples the divine plan of God in sending Jesus down to earth as the Living Bread of eternal life. To give His people hope and a chance at eternal life.
Episode 53 - Reading through John 5. Jesus is compassionate towards a crippled man at the pool near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem, called Bethesda. He heals the man on the Sabbath causing the Jews to set out not only to expose Him but also to kill Him. Jesus also explains how He does everything through His Father, God of Heaven and Earth.
Episode 52 - Reading through John 4. Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well and told everything about her life. He opens her eyes and gave her hope for her future. Jesus also revealed himself as the Messiah to the woman.
Episode 51 - Reading through John 2. Jesus turned water into wine at Cana of Galilee. Then He traveled to Capernaum and drove out the merchant's tables with whips as they turned the Temple of God into a house of merchandise.
Episode 50 - Reading through John 1. John begins by describing the creation of the Universe by the spoken word of God. John the Baptist preaches about Christ and preparing the way for His arrival. He met Jesus the next day and told those present that this was the man he had been preaching about.
Episode 49 - Reading through Luke 24. Jesus rose up from the dead into a new glorified body. Then He appeared to His Disciples and explained to them all prophecies starting from Moses through the Psalms and the prophets. Jesus preached about Himself and told the Disciples to tell the world that He is the one God sent for our sins and to be our savior. He is the Messiah!
Episode 49 - Reading through Luke 24. Jesus rose up from the dead into a new glorified body. He appears to His Disciples and explained to them all the prophecies starting from Moses through the Psalms and the Prophets. Jesus preached about Himself and told the Disciples to tell the world that He is the one God sent for our Salvation and to be our Savior. He is the Messiah!
Episode 47 - Reading through Luke 22. Jesus celebrates the Passover meal with His Disciples claiming that it would be His last Passover meal before His crucifixion and the coming of the Kingdom of God. Jesus also administers the new covenant, the bread, and wine that we celebrate today. Later on, Jesus prayed at Mt. Olives and sweat tears of blood.
Episode 46 - Reading through Luke 21. Jesus talks about giving to others and He describes the signs that will indicate the end of days. During this time, great wars will take place on the earth and terrible disasters will strike. He warns the disciples to be on guard and to keep a good heart.
Episode 45 - Reading through Luke 20 & 21. Jesus talks about how during the resurrection, there will be no husbands and wives but all our intimacies will be with God. Jesus also talks about how paying taxes must be done, He also talks about how the woman gave her offering, she gave everything she had. People give things that mean very little to them but She gave extravagantly.
Episode 44 - Reading through Luke 19. On His arrival to Jerico, Jesus met Zacchaeus and tells him that He would be staying at his house. Zacchaeus was so happy that he turned his life around by paying for his mistakes. At Zacchaeus's place, Jesus tells the story of a master who entrusted money to his three servants. Only two of the servants made investments while the other servant did not do anything with the money.
Episode 43 - Reading through Luke 17 & 18. Jesus begins by teaching us what faith is. Then He shared about the Kingdom of God & told the people that it is already here. He teaches about His second coming and warns the people not to be deceived by false news of His return.
Episode 42 - Reading through Luke 15 & 16. Jesus shares the story of a prodigal son. In the story, a father had two sons. The younger son asked for his portion of the inheritance from his father, who granted his son's request. This son, however squandered his fortune and eventually became destitute. As a consequence, the son returned to his father who welcomed him by throwing a party. This story shows us how God rejoices over a sinner that repents.
Episode 41- Reading through Luke 13 & 14. Jesus shares the story of a wealthy man who invites his friends and neighbors to a feast, but they all had excuses for not attending. So he invited all the misfits which the world considers as undesirable for a feast. This is to show how the Jews shunned Jesus while opening the way for the Gentiles to find salvation.
Episode 40 - Reading through Luke 12. Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for their pretensions and tells them to be true to themselves and to the people around them. As we are in secret, that's how we should be in the open. Jesus also tells us to be generous and give to the poor.
Episode 39 - Reading through Luke 11. Jesus preaches a very important message. He said, " Ask and you will get, seek and you shall find, Knock and the door will be open unto you. Don't bargain with God, be direct and ask for what you need". Then Jesus rebukes Pharisees for their hypocrisy.
Episode 38 - Reading through Luke 10 & 11. Jesus sends out seventy people to do the work of the Kingdom by giving them instructions. He explains the greatest commandment that is how we should love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and love our neighbor as ourselves. And when asked, Jesus defines neighbor with the story of a good Samaritan.
Episode 37 - Reading through Luke 9. Jesus commissions the Apostles and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. As Jesus's popularity grew, multitudes followed Him, and Jesus fed all of them which was about five thousand people with five loaves and two fish. Jesus revealed His purpose which is His crucifixion, death, and resurrection but none of the disciples understood what He was talking about.
Episode 36 - Reading through Luke 8. Jesus traveled from town to town with His disciples teaching and healing the people. Along the journey, a woman who had an issue of blood for many years got healed as she touched the hem of His garment. Jesus continued doing miracles by calming a storm, casting out demons, and raising the dead.
As Jesus entered the town of Capernaum, a military officer asks Him to heal his servant only by speaking the word. Along the journey, Jesus raises dead boy to life. At a gathering, a harlot worships Jesus and receives forgiveness.
Episode 34 - Reading through Luke 6. The Pharisees continually monitored Jesus movements looking to criticize Him at every turn. Jesus healed a man on the sabbath which was also questioned by the Pharisees as being improper. Jesus named the Twelve Disciples and spent the night on a mountain praying to the Father. He came down and teach the people, healed the sick, and demons were cast out.
Episode 33 - Reading through Luke 5. Simon had been fishing all night and caught nothing. But when Jesus said let out your nets, they caught a great number of fish and their net was breaking. Jesus invites Matthew to follow Him. Jesus heals a paralyzed man and He tells the Pharisees that it is the sick who needs the doctor not the healthy.
Episode 32 - Reading through Luke 3 & 4. John begins preaching and baptizing people in the river Jordan. Jesus gets baptized by John and receives the baptism of the holy spirit. Jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert. He returns to His hometown teaching and casting out evil spirits.
Episode 31 - Reading through Luke chapter 2. Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem for the first census. Mary gives birth to Jesus in a manger since there was no room in the inn. The Angels appear to the shepherds and guided them to the manger where the baby Jesus was laid. Simeon sees Jesus and he praises God. They return to Nazareth where Jesus grew in body, in spirit, and in favor with God and man.
Episode 30 - Reading through Luke chapter 1. Angel Gabriel appears to Zechariah during his priestly duties and promises that his wife Elizabeth will bear a child. Elizabeth is miraculously pregnant with John at an old age. Then the angel of the Lord appeared to Mary and told her that she will conceive a son. The angel left and Mary visits Elizabeth. On hearing Mary, the baby leaped with joy. John the Baptist is finally born.
Episode 29. Reading through Mark chapter 16. Jesus is resurrected from the grave and appears to Mary and His disciples. Jesus gives them instructions to go and proclaim the Good news to everyone. Whoever believes and is baptized is saved, whoever refuses to believe is damned.
Episode 28 : Reading through Mark chapter 15. Jesus stands before Piolet who questions Him regarding the accusations. Jesus said nothing and remains silent. He is crucified to a cross with a sign, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Episode 27 - Reading through Mark chapter 14. Jesus is anointed with an expensive bottle of perfume. He celebrates the Passover with His disciples and administers the communion. Jesus prays in the garden and is betrayed by Judas. Being captured by the thugs from the high priest, Jesus is condemned and sentenced to death. Peter denies Jesus and cries bitterly.
Episode 26 - Reading through Mark chapter 13. Jesus explains the signs of the end days and His arrival. He tells us how we're supposed to prepare for the end, by being on watch and staying at our post fulfilling our purpose.
Episode 25 - Reading through Mark chapter 11 and 12. Jesus continues to teach the people, baffling the religious leaders. He teaches about faith, life after resurrection and intimacies with God.
Episode 24 - Reading through Mark 10. Jesus teaches about Kingdom realities. He answers the Pharisees when they asked Him about divorce. Jesus gives us instructions about how we can enter God's Kingdom, He also explains what it takes to be honored in the Kingdom.
Episode 23 : Reading through Mark chapters 8 & 9. Jesus feeds the four thousand. He spends time teaching his disciples and tells them about God's plan and purpose for His life.
Episode 22 - Reading through Mark chapter 6:14 & 7. King Herod executes John the Baptizer on request. Jesus feeds the hungry five thousand and walks on water. Jesus continues His work in Jerusalem teaching people and healing the sick.
Episode 21 - Reading through Mark chapter 5 & 6:1-13. Jesus heals a mad man from demons. A woman risks her faith to receive her healing by sneaking up to Jesus and touching His robe. Jesus continues to teach in the villages and sends out His disciples for Kingdom work.
Episode 20 - Reading through Mark chapter 3 and 4. Jesus explains heavenly truth in stories and parables to enlighten and awaken people.
Episode 19 - An introduction to the Gospel of Mark and Reading Mark chapter 1. Jesus starts His ministry in Jerusalem.
Episode 18 - Reading through Matthew chapter 28. Jesus rises from the grave. He meets His disciples and gives them a charge to share the good news to the ends of the Earth.
Episode 17 - Reading through Matthew chapter 27. Jesus is in session with Piolet and being falsely accused by the crowd. Being warned by his wife not to get involved with Jesus' death, piolet washes his hand off all responsibility regarding Jesus. Jesus is crucified and buried in a brand new tomb. Guards are placed to His tomb as a precautionary measure, to stop the disciples from stealing Jesus's body.
Episode 16 - Reading through Matthew chapter 26. A woman anoints Jesus with an expensive bottle of perfume. Jesus and His disciples' fellowship over the Passover dinner, Judas plots to betray Jesus. Peter denies Jesus at the courtyard...
Episode 15 - Reading through Matthew chapter 25. Jesus portrays a picture of the ten virgins who went out to meet the bridegroom. He also relates the story of the talents and talks of the little things we do for even the least of people.
Episode 14 - Reading through Matthew chapter 24. Jesus answers questions about the end of times, the signs to look for, and the second coming of Christ.
Episode 13 - Reading through Matthew chapters 22 & 23. Jesus gives the most important command. He also calls out to the Sadducees and the Pharisees for performing religious fashion shows.
Episode 12 - Reading through Matthew chapters 20 & 21. Jesus prepares His disciples for His death and crucifixion. He is welcomed into Jerusalem as "Son of David" and also turns tables at the temple.
Episode 11 - Reading through Matthew chapters 18 & 19. Now the disciples of Jesus are curious about the Kingdom of Heaven. They ask Him about Kingdom ranks and positions. They question Jesus as to what they must do to enter the Kingdom. Jesus answers plainly, the first comes last, the last comes first. This is The Great Reversal.
Episode 10 - Reading through Matthew chapters 16 & 17. Jesus explains how we have authority through Him and that He is driving our lives. He also transforms on a high mouintain.
Episode 9 - Reading through Matthew chapters 14 & 15. Jesus performs astonishing miracles and walks on water.
Episode 8: Reading through Matthew 13. Jesus Himself tells us stories about the Kingdom of God, His home. He wants us to understand that we will be part of this Kingdom if we accept Him as Lord and believe in Him.
Episode 7 - Jesus reinforces His authority over the Law of the Sabbath and the Law of Moses. He heals a demon-afflicted man who was both blind and deaf. Jesus speaks of His death and Resurrection when asked for proof if He was from God.
Episode 6 - Jesus prepares His disciples and charges them with the divine task. They had to proclaim the good news of God's kingdom, heal the sick, and touch the lives of lost people. He reassures us about how we can recover our life, by walking with Him. This is the unforced rhythm of His Grace.
Episode 5 - Jesus said, "Become What you Believe." As we read through Matthew chapters 8 & 9, we see Jesus getting extremely busy with kingdom work. Multiple individuals prove their faith and receive their healing according to their belief in Jesus. Jesus is compassionate to these lost souls.
Episode 4 - Blessing is yours when you start to know Jesus. Reading through matter chapters 6 & 7, diving deeper into precious teachings of Jesus. How to pray, how to behave, and trusting God with our day-to-day life.
Episode 3 - Reading through Matthew chapter 5. Jesus dives deep into the Law of Moses and challenges them to higher standards.
