Tune in to hear me talk about my thoughts and reflect on my day to day, from school work to personal health. Welcome to this week’s episode! 🌟
Today, we're diving into Part Two of 'How to Be Selfish' a topic that resonates deeply with me as the oldest immigrant daughter. We’ll continue exploring what it truly means to prioritize yourself, even when it feels uncomfortable or "selfish." From setting boundaries that protect your peace to detaching from the guilt of disappointing others, this episode is all about reclaiming your space.
I'll be sharing personal stories about my journey to self-prioritization, the challenges of putting myself first, and why saying no has become my favorite form of self-care. We’ll also talk about recognizing energy drainers, cutting back where it matters, and understanding that being selfish can actually make you a better, more present person for the people you love.
Join me as I unpack why being selfish isn’t a bad thing, it’s an act of self-love that allows you to show up authentically.

In today’s chat, I’m getting personal and unpacking why I think I’ll be single forever. From the fear of getting close to someone to the growing difficulties of dating in today’s world, I reflect on how my own insecurities and past experiences have shaped my views on relationships.
We’ll dive into the struggles of finding genuine connections, the frustrations with today’s dating pool—filled with toxic attitudes like the “Andrew Tate mentality”—and why I’ve started to question whether it’s even worth the effort. I’ll also share stories about friendships that got complicated by flirting and why sometimes being single is the best choice for peace of mind.

Today, we're tackling a hot topic: Has our generation become too soft? I explore how shifts in cultural attitudes, social media trends, and growing sensitivity have shaped the way we respond to tough situations. From participation trophies to 'cancel culture,' we’ll look at the challenges and debates around resilience and toughness in today’s world.
Drawing on personal experiences and real-world examples, I break down whether we're getting more sensitive or just more empathetic as a society. Plus, I dive into a recent viral story that got me thinking about these questions—trust me, you don’t want to miss it.
Leave a comment for a candid discussion on whether our generation needs a wake-up call or if we're just evolving with the times.

In today’s chat, I dive into the harsh realities of fame—why I never want to be famous and the hidden costs that come with being in the spotlight. Using recent backlash against Blake Lively as a starting point, I explore how quickly public opinion can turn and why the world of show business is filled with fake personas.
We’ll discuss examples of celebrities who’ve been scrutinized and shunned for speaking their minds, like Colin Kaepernick and Enes Freedom, and why the pressure of fame often leads to losing yourself. I also touch on the dangers of cancel culture, the mental health toll it takes, and why protecting my peace is more important than any fame or fortune.
Join me as I peel back the glamorous facade of fame to reveal its darker side and why, at the end of the day, I’m happy just being me—unfamous and free.

In this eye-opening episode, we dive into the provocative question, "Why is everyone naked?" and unravel the layers of meaning behind the visual and cultural phenomena that surround us. From the historical origins of the male gaze and its pervasive influence on art and media, to the iconic image of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the ways they’ve shaped and reflected societal attitudes, we examine how sexuality and representation intersect in complex and sometimes controversial ways.
Whether you're interested in the dynamics of gender representation, the impact of popular culture, or the role of art in societal change, this episode promises an engaging and thought-provoking discussion.
Tune in to get a fresh perspective on the ways our cultural narratives shape—and are shaped by—ideas of nudity, empowerment, and artistic freedom :)

Have you ever heard that you are too nice before?
If that sounds familiar, I am sorry to say you are suffering a classic symptom of Nice Girl Syndrome. The easiest way to define rhis syndrome is "The idea behind this behavior is that you are responsible for other people's feelings."
As someone who personally has dealt with this, I apologize to everyone who has taken advantage of you. However today, I will talk to you all about when I I first realized I was suffering from being the nice girl, learning to deal with it, and ultimately beginning to feel comfortable within myself again.
(P.S if you are unsure if you are a nice girl, look at this article to help you discover if you are in the same boat as me 🫠)

I know the title may seem daunting but hear me out.
Hello everyone! I hope you guys are all doing well :)
The title for this episode does sound a bit interesting to say the least but, hear me out. One of the first episodes on my podcast was about learning to love yourself, and I recently realized that I forgot the most important thing. To learn to love yourself, you have to first learn how to prioritize yourself first. Some people, however, would say that it is selfish which I wholeheartedly disagree with. As each of us has only one life to live and if you cannot prioritize yourself, how do you expect to grow? Accomplish everything in life that you have ever wanted to? Today's episode is all about how I am learning to be selfish and sharing all these tips with you guys! With school just around the corner, you have to remember that your academic studies come first before any social events with friends, work, etc.
Hope this episode is helpful!

Hello everyone!
I hope you guys are doing well! With school starting soon, I decided to share some tips I wish I had known before entering college. I am a first-generation college student with few cousins in my age group, so I had no one to turn to about any questions I had. Whether it was about something specific like where I should live on campus, clubs to join, or how to meet new people. Today, I decided to be the person I wish I had when attending university, and share these tips with you guys! I hope these tips are helpful for you guys and let me know if you want a part 2 to this!

I hope you guys are having an amazing day today! I believe I mentioned on instagram that I had family staying with us for a week and they have now left which means I have time to record an episode for you guys!! I also realized that I am moving back to campus in T-10 days so, I am very stressed atm😅. Today's episode is all about what I have to prepare before I head to campus, how employment searching has been, nursing school plans, etc. It is all over the place, but I feel as though you guys can relate right? With school just around the corner, trying to start this new school year with my best foot forward is going to be a challenge. Hopefully, I can not only share with you guys things I am doing to combat this but, help you guys in the process :)

With me being all vulnerable in the past few episodes, I thought to maintain that train of being open and am talking about one of my insecurities today. Hello everyone!👋
I hope you guys had a wonderful week!!
This week was spent meditating and let me tell you, I have never felt more at peace I don't know if it was meditating or just journaling afterwards but it was very helpful for someone like me who is always thinking whether it be about the future or present. Sitting in silence and letting your brain relax for the first time is a feeling I never knew was so important. I was always that person who thought that whilst I am awake my brain has to be in overdrive and the only time my brain relaxes is when I sleep. Doing this challenge for a week opened my eyes and I hope you guys try it out as well, whether it be for a day or a week!
Overall, I hope you guys enjoyed today's episode and let me know if you have any questions or comments!! 💕

I have currently been taking some much-needed time off and have just been focusing on myself as well as relaxing. Hi everyone!
I hope you have had an amazing day today! The past week has been extremely busy for me as I have had to renew my BLS certification, submit my volunteering applications as well as plan my friend's surprise birthday party which is happening in about an hour🥳!
Today's topic is all about why our generation thinks too much! When coming up with topics to talk about on my podcast a few months ago, a few friends and I were discussing why there is so much pressure on our generation to do great things. We ultimately came to the conclusion that is was because of choice overload and paralysis analysis which are the two concepts I talk about in today's episode!
Once again want to thank you for taking the time to tune in to this episode!

Hello everyone👋!
I know it's been a few weeks, but anyone who is a university student understands that the first week of starting the new semester is always the hardest as you have to once again learn to balance your overwhelming courseloads with family and friends right at your doorstep. So please do not be too upset that I did not have the time to upload as life takes you on a journey that no pre-planning can prepare you for ❤️.
Nevertheless, today's episode is all about what I have been up to with this new semester regarding becoming more social recently as I have been spending a lot of time with friends from the past, the feeling of being overwhelmed by coursework, applying for internships as well as for working positions on campus. Also sharing some funny moments that have happened to me with a certain someone this semster👀.
I hope you guys enjoy this episode and please stay tuned as I convinced one of my friends to join me to record an episode😊

Thank you for taking the time to hear it and stay tuned!

(P.S I know this episode can be a little touchy as I am talking about religion but I want to preface that I am not trying to push my beliefs onto anyone. Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope you guys attended a fun get-together with friends and family! My family and I usually do not attend any crazy parties. All we do is stay up eating ice cream and watch the fireworks on TV as well as sit outside as our neighbors usually release fireworks.
However, with us traveling this year I am currently sitting in the hotel bathroom trying to record this before heading to the airport as the flight back home is on December 31st. With all that to say, each year is very different and I hope this year we can follow through with our resolutions so we can become the best versions of ourselves❤️

Today I am talking all about pretty privilege. The definition, how it came to be, do I believe it to be true, have I ever experienced it, and what we can do to not hold biases against one another.
I hope you guys enjoyed today's episode and stay tuned for more as my friends are going to be joining me on future episodes💕

Hi everyone👋
See I told y'all I was going to be consistent 😤
Anywho, I hope you guys enjoy today's topic. It was something out of the blue and just a good old interesting topic that I could honestly still talk about now (which definitely means there is going to be a part 2 coming 👀)! Overall, today's topic is about what is the reason/objective on women having a greater variety of clothing options compared to their male counterparts? I did not do much research for this episode but, have realized the multitude of articles published that talk about this dilemma and am definitely going to dive into them when recording part 2!
What do you guys believe is the reason behind women having greater interest/clothing options? Tell me your opinions first then we can read the actual facts and reason behind it! Be honest and tell me what y'all think 👀
Also, I might be out of town from Dec 25 - 31st so if I do not have an update in the next few weeks just know it isn't because I am skimping about with the content. I just got busy with family ❤
I hope you guys enjoy today's episode and see y'all next week✌

Now I don't know about any of y'all but now that I am in college, I have realized how difficult college is which means that there are many times my friends and I talk about such as how stressful college is. But why are there are so many people who think college is the next step after high school?

What’s up everyone? Today I talk about why I didn’t upload last month, starting my summer classes and advice given from my friends and I to any incoming/current high school students. It was really interesting to read what my friends had to say and know that most of what they had to say was similar to one another. It honestly just proves the point that even though you think everyone is judging you, they are more worried about being seen as a outcast themselves. I hope you guys still enjoy this episode nonetheless and if you have any questions feel free to send then my way!!

This week was busier than usual with school and visiting family. Which, meant I didn't have a lot of extra time to read, and let me tell you I was upset! I usually read one to two books off my phone but this week was only able to complete three books. I know with school starting soon making time to read will be a challenge but I hope I can schedule myself to read books other than required textbooks as a way to destress. I have linked below some books I have completed during this challenge and if you guys want any more recommendations let me know :) I hope you guys became as interested in reading or finding a habit that you can continue while in college!!

Hi everyone :) I asked my sister to join me today to talk all about defining our character and what makes a good friend! Growing up with immigrant parents, it was hard for us to have friends that could relate to our home life such as not always being available to go out late at night or visit each others houses. Now that we are older and understand our parents concerns, we are able to relate and grow to find friends that can either relate or aren't as demanding. As well as, discussing specific characteristics pertaining to each of us and how we interact with our friends. Once again, thank you for listening to today's episode! 💗 If you have any comments or concerns, message me with any social media mention below!

What's up party people! How has your summer break been? Mine has been good so far, my summer courses haven't started yet which has allowed for me to spend more time doing things I enjoy like posting consistently on my podcast :) Now to jump into today's episode, I have started my summer series in which I test out a new habit every week!! This week is all about exercise, and I haven't exercised in a long time so I was extremely nervous. However, by the end of the week, I found a few of my favorites and I hope that it interests you guys enough to also start working out as well !!

Hey guys!
Today's episode includes my sister as my guest!!
I was really nervous to have her on initially because I always thought I wanted to keep this space private. However, with all of you listening and sending me positive messages I thought why not bring in my sister! If you haven't listened to my introductory episode let me briefly introduce my sister to you. She is 19 years old and is also a freshman in college like myself. We have honestly always been close, including my 17-year-old brother. I think it's because even at a young age we knew, we could always rely on each other no matter what. All of this to say, Today's episode is all about her aspirations for the future, childhood memories, and much more!!
Question of the Day: Do you have any siblings? If yes, what would you say was your favorite memory of you guys together?
P.S I know it's been a while since I last posted a new episode but my only excuse is life. It's been a rough couple of months, not going to sugar coat it. But, I have been starting to feel better as well as wanting to upload more content now that school is almost over!!
So again, I do apologize for the extremely inconsistent upload schedule. I will soon post the schedule on my Instagram which will be linked below if you guys want to check it out!!

I talk about the definition of self-love and share the list of "22 Ways to Love Yourself More" from Sharon Martin which I have been using to combat this struggle. I go through this list and talk about which topics I have 100% gotten over and others which I am still not over with as well as a goal I want you guys to accomplish with me at the end!
(P.S. This episode was cut down because it was originally 43 minutes long, if you ever want me to post the second portion let me know by contacting me with the social links below!) Link for the 22 Ways to Love Yourself More: https://livewellwithsharonmartin.com/how-to-love-yourself/

Today is all about my parents! From how they met, to their strikingly different childhoods and much more!
This topic has always been an extremely amusing in our family because when my parents first met, my dad thought he saw an angel and told everyone from his friends, coworkers and family members that he was always going to marry my mother. Let me already tell you, my mother did not feel the same way at that time, nonetheless they ended up getting married and have three amazing children!!
Also, I included some more of my childhood as well as high school stories!!

The epitome of every teenager living in a foreign country, has thought what is the "Real American High School Experience Like?".
I can arguably agree that certain things in movies such as High School Musical and Clueless have gotten some things right such as cliques being a thing, athletes such as football players always date either a cheerleader or another athlete. However, there are still many things they have gotten wrong. Today I talk about my high school experience, and how I spent the majority of that time. I can already tell you that I was the type to spend my time taking AP classes and joining as many clubs as possible so my college applications could look the best they could.
If you would like to hear more from my perspective, let me knoq!
