Germain originally asked John to call the new system "Shamballa Reiki" in order to take advantage of the fact that many people had already heard of Reiki. Germain had brought through the original 20 symbol system in Atlantean times, from which Reiki was partially taken. He planned to quickly take people into new and higher frequencies, way beyond Reiki. 13 Dimesional Shamballa MDH was born. Later on Basic Master and Basic Teacher as well, and finally 13D Teacher.
