Summary Mark participated in Season 7 of History Channel's hit show ALONE. He grew up in Orange Park, Florida, where he spent his free time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. At 22, he joined the Marine Corps in pursuit of a new career. Mark spent close to 10 years conducting Special Operations for the reconnaissance and scout sniper communities, where he pushed himself mentally and physically the entire time to make sure he was proficient at his job. During this time, he spent four years in Southeast Asia and another four in Bridgeport, California, where he instructed mountain cold-weather operations and survival for snipers and other military members around the world.
After getting out of the Marine Corps in 2017, Mark started International Mountain Survival. His business concentrates on sniper, survival, tracking and rappel courses. He instructs snipers around the world from both military and law-enforcement backgrounds. Mark is also the lead shooting/outdoor instructor for Branded Rock Canyon, a world-class hunting and shooting facility located near Grand Junction, Colorado.
When Mark isn’t working, he can be found hiking the backcountry with his one-year-old son Max, and scouting for his next big game hunt. Mark and Max now reside near Portland, Oregon

Summary: There's never been more temptation to take you off course than there is now. Everyone wants a piece of you and you want a piece of the action you see. Unless you want caught in a whirlwind of starting and stopping, pick one thing and complete it. You will feel at peace and fulfilled when you know you are working towards one mission. The worst feeling in the world is starting something then getting pulled in a different direction then starting another thing then getting pulled in another direction. Expertise comes from years of experience at a specific thing. You can be successful at anything but you have to stick with THAT thing. Transcript: It's really easy when you're trying to build something to get pulled in different directions whether you'retrying to build your health build a business family things i'm going through right now and a lot ofpeople do i think it tears at the soul of anyone who's tryingto make a long-term improvement because you think i really want toget to this result and then you start to be results focusedand you look at say i want to get to you know ten thousand dollars a month in my business or whatever it isanything right now i'm at zero so every day you think about that ten thousand dollar numberif so day one i'm not a ten thousand day two i'm not a ten thousand day three i'mnot a ten thousand or you're three hundred pounds and you wanna get to two hundred poundsday one you go to the gym you're three hundred day two your 301day three year 299 and every day you think about that ending resultit kills you on the inside a little bit more and more and more because you're thinking about i'm where i am right nowbut i'm not where i want to be so instead an ideawhich i've been thinking about a lot from reading atomic habits and a lot of other books and justthinking about how i feel about things is be more process driven more habit-driventhink you know today i didn't hit my goal where i want to be two years from nowthree years from now but i did the things necessary to get to that goaland when i think back to times in my life when i've been really successful at things you know i remember i was amusic major in college so i played saxophone all the time and i won concerto competitions i wasvery successful at the saxophone because that was my everything i was obsessed with at the time i was only concerned about beingthe best saxophone player i could possibly be i want to be the best in the school so i would be practicing four eighthours a day on that and i remember loving the process justloving going into the practice room every single day whether people knew i was practicing ornot i would just go in there and practice for hours and hours and hoursfollow my chart follow my bullet bulleted list of things i had to do and if i got through that list that day ifelt great inside i felt peaceful it was just at ease i feltlike i was fulfilled i was completing my mission because my mission at that time was just to get really good at saxophonei wanted to win certain competitions and even if i didn't win the competitions as long as i was enjoying how i felt as iwas playing i felt good about myself at that time so i was enjoying the processi was enjoying the daily work that happened and i think as you know you i could you can't dothat forever this isn't the 1920s where you know you can go to clubs and play in big bands and all that so whenever yougo on to new things when i go into new things for me personally you know i have tothink okay i want to get to this point i'm not there right now it's okaydid i do the things today that got me to that point yes and the thing that's tough it'stough for me stuff for a lot of people is whenever you see someone else doing what you wa...
