In this episode, we bring on our favorite OMM professor, Dr. Hawkins Mecham. Dr. Mecham grew up in Utah hiking in the mountains and helping raise animals on his family's small farm. He completed his medical education at Des Moines University COM and went on to specialize in neuromusculoskeletal medicine.

We get vulnerable and talk all about Dr. Mecham's journey to medicine, his mental health struggles, and how he "bounced back". This episode was a great reminder to us all that having a support system in who you can confide and be the authentic you is of great importance. He dropped out of high school to become a taekwondo master! After returning, he went on to obtain his Master's from Brown University.
