Starting a Youtube channel last year was one of the BEST decisions I've made in my business and certainly the best decision recently for visibility! What was holding me back from creating a channel for so long was the fact that I didn't see myself as an influencer.
But what a lot of people don't know is that using Youtube for business is a super strategic move. The truth is, you don't have to share your entire life or vlog. Youtube is a great way to build credibility with your audience with free and valuable education. It's also a search engine, meaning it's an incredible way to reach so many new cold leads!
In this episode, I talk about who Youtube is ideal for, how and why to use it in business, and the simply steps to get started with equipment and software. The whole process is a lot easier than you might think!

I'm sharing how I made over $1k in passive income alone, working less than 12 hours over the course of 2.5 weeks! I think it's so important to share the small beginnings and the power of long-form content even with a small following. We always hear about the creators with 100k followers or 1 million subscribers. But I was able to achieve the same amount of money with 84 subscribers and less than 400 views on a single video that would have taken me getting 350-500k views with youtube adsense! And you can 100% do this in your business too.

I recently had a birthday, and I dubbed the week leading up to it as "birthday week." The idea wasn't anything crazy or expensive! I just sought to create little moments throughout my days where I focused on the good and fun aspects of my life and treating myself along the way. That got my thinking about the idea of romanticizing your life! I have lots of thoughts for you today.
Romanticizing your life is a form of mindfulness. It's about taking time to slow down and bring awareness to the moment. It's about living the life of your dreams right now. Let's face it, our lives have a hugh impact on how we perceive our lives. What if we directed our typically negative energy to believing the best about our lives?!
Ask yourself, "What's the best that could happen?"
Main character energy is investing in and advocating for yourself and doing things that make you happy. It's about taking life and yourself a little less seriously

As 2023 begins, it's been important for me to take some time to reflect, not only on my goals but how I want to feel. I want to prioritize romanticizing my life and FUN! This year. The start of this year is also different in that it's the first time I'm starting a New Year working for myself full-time. We talk about some of the anxiety and emotions around that in this episode.
The main things I really want to focus on and cultivate in 2023:
- You can take up space. This means giving yourself the credit to use your voice and have value and belong in every room you're in.
- That's not mine to carry. Leaving the responsibility of other's action or inaction on them. Not trying to shield or shelter other's from discomfort. Asking for what I need and allowing others to fulfill that for me.
- The year of FUN and personal enrichment. I've started doing things just for the sake of doing them. It's been freeing not having to always ben productive! Some of my favorite things have included: playing piano again, starting a 1,000 piece puzzle, learning French, starting a workout app program, and roller skating!

Another year is coming to a close, and like everyone else in the world, I'll say, "Where has the time gone?" The days are long, but the years are short. I matched my attorney salary in less than four months. Yep, you read that right. In less than four months since quitting my full-time job (as an attorney), I've now matched that same attorney salary as a wedding photographer. How, you ask?
We're chatting about the topic no one likes to talk about… MONEY! 💰 We all tiptoe around it, and most of us have a lot of formative beliefs about money that affect how we interact with it.
I experienced financial anxiety when I went full-time in June. Would I make enough money to support my family? Would I have to start working Doordash? Even though I wasn't financially where I wanted to be, I knew I needed a change, and that still meant quitting.
So I set some aggressive goals for myself. I pulled out pen and paper and wrote it down!
"I will make as much money working for myself as I did being a full-time attorney by the end of the year." - Me in June
And then I got 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 work 👏🏻. In less than four months time, I'd doubled the income I had on the books for 2022 when I quit back in June. In fact, I matched my attorney salary! This milestone deserved its own ✨moment✨.
But not only that, I want to prove to you that YOU can also achieve the financial (and other) goals of your dreams. I'm walking you through how in today's podcast episode.

I watched the Elvis movie recently, and loved it. But it actually taught me about life and my business too. We're also studying the book of Ecclesiastes in church. And strangely enough, it's been teaching me the same things. Mainly that it's not that deep. Let me explain...
“What's your definition of success?”
This question hit me like a ton of bricks at the end of the movie. Elvis is one of the most (if not THE most) famous people who ever lived. But his life ended tragically, chasing after things that didn't really matter. He died alone and very unhappy even though, on the outside, he seemed to be doing really great.
In the same way, the book of Ecclesiastes points out the fleeting nature of life. “A chasing after the wind” describes it perfectly. All we really have is the here and now. And what we are striving for daily is not always what truly matters. It's not that deep.

As solopreneurs, taking time away can be daunting on multiple levels. For one thing, it's likely just you in your business, which means the success of your business rises and falls on your efforts alone. Secondly, it can feel easy to be pulled into the lie that rest is not productive or you simply can't take the time to be away because of guilt. Several weeks back, I had been feeling unproductive, on the path to burnout, and tired. The boundaries between life and work were becoming blurred. And even though I'm a night owl and love working on my business in the evenings and sleeping in late, I knew something had to change. You know the cycle. Staying up late, sleeping in or staying in bed on my phone, and repeat. I didn't quit my 9-5 job a couple months ago to spend less time with my family. Since then, my business has been transformed with two minor tweaks! 1) Working out consistently! (more on this next week), and 2) Scheduling EVERYTHING on my digital calendar. Curious?
