Hey guys, how's it going? John and Suzi here from the unbeatable tech podcast. I'm so excited for you to spend some time with us here today. Suzi is going to turn the tables. If you were a part of the podcast, our previous episode got into her backstory and her history of going from a stay-at-home mom to an entrepreneur.
And in this episode, we weren't going to just turn the tables so you can see who else is here. And my story from going from. Engineering to being an entrepreneur with her side by side. So Suzi, I'm excited and nervous to Chuck.
This is going to be very eye opening for all of us to kind of see that raw side of John come out, lift the transition, which I know it sounds like this amazing thing.
I quit my job and all that, but there were some, some wonderful months to go through and transition. But before we get into that and the story of how that all had. Um, can you tell us a little bit about your background? Do you, I know most of you or most all of you,
but there might be some things that. Sneak out and still understand. So tell us about
your background. Absolutely. So I was born and raised in a little town outside of Jacksonville, Florida. So I'm kind of a country. Boy. I grew up on a little bit of land with my two older sisters and had a wonderful loving mom and dad and a fantastic childhood.
Wouldn't change a thing. Very blessed with that. A good, you know, go to church on Sunday thing. Uh, learn music, learn hard work and effort and got a fantastic upbringing. Uh, as far as like the entrepreneurial side of things, my dad was always my steadfast kind of wake up in the morning, go to work, come home, go to work the same time, come home, same time, eat the dinner.
At the same time we had that type of structure. And that kind of was my rock. My foundation of. A man is supposed to be and how he provides for his family. Um, on the other hand, my mom, she. I think similar to your story. She stayed home with the babies. You know, she had a career before becoming a mom, and then she also had this passion, her passion was anything with canines, anything dogs, she would take care of them.
Today I'm thrilled to interview my wife Suzi Whitford, who launched our family out of the world of 9 to 5 job life, and into the exciting adventure of entrepreneurship.
In this episode, we are going to unpack for you:

Hey guys, how's it going, John and Suzi here. Welcome back to the unbeatable tech podcast in this first real episode, not the trailer. I want to dive deeper into Suzi's backstory and you'll hear mine in the next episode. So if you haven't already done so please subscribe to the podcast to hear all of the nitty-gritty details.
But before we dive in Suzi, how are you feeling today?
Thank you. And thanks for making me the first official. Um, episode. I really appreciate it.
Absolutely. I might need to shuffle around the order of some other episodes that are already published, but you are going to be the first official episode on the unbeatable tech podcast.
Super excited to have you, um, like it's been such a wild journey between you and me and the CO's and between corporate life and entrepreneurship. There's so much to unpack here. I felt like we really had to separate this into two separate interviews to get both sides of this.
Definitely. Um, yeah, there's been a lot that happened over the last, um, golly, 8, 7, 8, 9 years.
Yeah. So there's, it's been a lot, it's been a awesome roller coaster with ups and downs and. I'm happy to
share it. Fantastic. And before we dive into Suzi's entire story, if you guys want to get some action plans, some actionable tips and consume some of the content that Suzi has created, you can head over to start them on blog.com.
And what would you have them do once they get over their Suzy
and read every single blog post sign up for every single freebie, um, just, just browse around. And if you find a freebie to sign up for, then you'll be put onto my email list and then you'll hear from me.
That is phenomenal. All right. So let's dive into, we've got a huge story to unpack here.
So take us back before entrepreneurship, before marrying me and all those things. Let's get back to the dark ages. Give us a third one country. Take us back to the very beginning and give us a quick 30,000 foot overview of who you are and how you came to. This version of you
to meet? Well, I woke up. All right.
So I was born and raised in South Africa, beautiful country, very rich culture. Fantastic. And I had a wonderful childhood. My dad started his own company when he was in his early teens. My mom had her own restaurant. She had little side hustles that she had. So it was always kind of been in my blood to kind of find your own way in the world, but never really clicked that.
That's what is in my family. Um, both my grandparents had their own businesses that they started. My one grandpa was a butcher, so he was a hunter. He went out and hunted animals in sold their meat. And then my other grandpa had, um, a construction company that he bought from. So we were born and raised in South Africa.
We moved to the states when I was around 11, got kicked out of the country. Again, went back to South Africa, try to come back again. So it was back and forth. My parents always continuously to try to give us a really good childhood. So they spent a lot of money trying to get us out of South Africa and give us a better future in the states.
And I just really respect them for that for going through all that.
Welcome to the first episode of the Unbeatable Tech Podcast!

I sat down today with Sherif Abuzid, the founder of TranslationPartner.com: a digital marketing agency offering translation services with a unique focus on SEO for their partners. We discuss the journey from employee, to freelancer, to agency founder – including all the lessons learned as he quickly scaled to having 10+ employees in his company.
Sherif as a marketer would fall into a common trap of shiny object syndrome, but he quickly realized that to create a sustainable and thriving business, he would need to create systems and processes that were reliable and consistent for his team.
We dive into the exact steps he took to create a thriving online agency that is able to operate for days or weeks without his direct impact.
“By setting up the right systems and processes, I was able to return back to work days later and everything was running like clockwork. It was eye-opening!” Sherif Abuzid.
