From the south and west sides to the suburbs, this podcast will highlight the stories of those changemakers, educators, and historians who are fighting for change, providing resources for their communities and preserving the history of their beloved home, Chicago.
Chicago is a well known city filled with culture, history, businesses, and more. What people may not know is that there are small suburban towns on the outskirts with just as much history, culture, and pride. In this episode Lauren travels to Robbins, Illinois to visit its history museum and speak with the Executive Director Tyrone Haymore about the struggles they've faced and its most prominent residents.

Johnson Publishing Company is best known for JET and EBONY magazines. Both magazines showed Black American life in a positive light and became a staple in the community. We take a look back at the history of this monumental company and the legacy it left behind.
