From addiction to expansion...Richard Atherton is an executive coach in the structure he founded FirstHuman. He also hosts "Being Human"—a podcast I admire with over 300 episodes 😮But what struck me the most was not his brilliant and eclectic career (from management consultant to cabaret owner and system coder... you won't believe what Richard did in his life). It was what he shared in this episode.Without filters.Without hiding.Check a few golden nuggets: 🍷 Richard started drinking at 14.🎓 He had a brilliant academic track.👎 He got fired from his first job for being too shy.🤩 He lived a full, rich life… while struggling with alcohol and other addictionsFor years, the hangover was the only thing that helped him slow down. His mind was too fast. Too busy.Alcohol numbed the noise.Later came more layers:➡️ Alcoholics Anonymous➡️ S#x and Love Addicts Anonymous➡️ Co-Dependents Anonymous➡️ Landmark Education➡️ John Bradshaw’s book Homecoming➡️ Deep childhood therapy➡️ Primal scream workAn SO. MUCH. MORE.Richard went deep. And through that depth, he came back.Clearer. Softer. Freer. He now helps leaders turn away from the illusion of “When I’ll finally get X, I’ll be happy.”Because joy and connection are not at the end of the path. They’re here.Available.When we stop running. It’s one of the most open conversations I’ve ever had on this podcast.Check the full episode HERE: https://lnkd.in/dYejCFSE ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

Fellow podcasters are always awesome to host on the show. And when Dennis Wakabayashi, CX influencer of Expo 2020, founder of CX in the wild, podcaster, public speaker, CX strategist and consultant comes in town, that's even better. In short, Dennis is a big figure in CX. During our conversation, we talked about fascinating topics: 🇺🇸 Dennis had a modest upbringing in the US and went through stigma and racism👨🏼‍🎨 He became a graffiti artist at the age of 16 and his parents learned it... waaay later❌ He did not finish high school🤩 For him, life is a suicide mission where no one made it alive, so... UNLEASH your potential📏 Measuring CX is a disadvantage when it becomes a focus🎯 Obstacles to team work are: absence of Unified, Clear and Simple goals 🎻 If businesses were an orchestra, the biggest mistake they do is to focus on the music instead of the space in between the notesAND MUUUUUUUCH MORE!!!!Dennis, it was a true joy welcoming you on the show. Thank you for passing by and let's do this again!ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

Managing my energy... Here is a difficult topic for me. How to understand my energy? How to sync it with others? Which signals should I pay attention to? What can I do to bring a high level of energy? These are few of the many questions we cover in the next Episode of the podcast with the great Josefine Campbell, executive coach and Author of the book Power Barometer https://josefinecampbell.com/book-power-barometer/.During 2 hours, I had a fabulous conversation about Josefine and her upbringing, the importance of martial arts in her life, the multiple jobs she had, until she became the executive coach and author she is now. Here are a few gems we talked about: 🥋 She is a quadruple champion of Japanese Jiu Jitsu in Denmark☝️ Rather than Personal 🆚 Professional, try Private 🆚 Professional because everything is personal🗓️ It takes 7 years for ALL our cels to have changed in our body 😳👾 She sees the mind of people like a suite of algorithms or mini programs and it helps her a lot to coach better⚡️ You can check your energy level before starting a meeting (it's all in the book!)🎯 We can have multiple purposes - one purpose alone does not reflect our richness and complexityAnd MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE !!!ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩 !!!

You might not be ready for this episode. I spent well over 2h with the incredible Aurelio C. Hammer, a sound healer and explorer, an artisan crafting instruments that impact us through specific frequencies.Aurelio lives in Auroville, the last standing utopian community of that scale (where the first ever computer company of India was born) and created a company called SVARAM Musical Instruments & Research (https://svaram.org/). One of his specialties? The mathematics of music (I did not know such a term existed). You won't believe what you will learn about the powers of sound and its major impacts on our physical, mental and spiritual health. Here are some extracts of what we talk about in this episode 40:🫀 Each instrument touches a different layer of our being (for ex: specific frequencies trigger specific organs in our body)🤩 There are NO ideal circumstances in life: we all go through struggle🌪️ Nature can be brutal, far from the romantic idea he had of humans living in symbiosis with nature❓ We always need to be ready for the unknown⏭️ The future is more exciting to explore than the past👲 Back in the Chinese empire, music had a role in social coherence🧠 Music opens your feeling, your sync and capacity to work with others AND your intellectual capabilities (you read that well)🙏 There is NO religion nor spiritual tradition without music I could continue endlessly. This episode is so rich that it will probably challenge pre-conceived ideas you might not even know you have. If you want to feel the joy of exploring new territories, you will enjoy this episode TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

He was not great at school. Nor did he know what you wanted to do with his life by his early 20s.Until he stepped in #kendo dojo.Werner Karnadi, a Data warehouse specialist, is above and beyond the coach of the kendo Dutch national team.If you love sports you will be hooked by what Werner talks about during our conversation. And she loves figures you will like the way we discuss data and how to approach it with a human focus.A truly fabulous conversation for this Episode 39.Here are some extracts of what we talked about:💔 He underestimated the emotional impact of being laid off, and spiralled down🗣️ A few words from strangers have significantly impacted his life multiple times🧐 "Don't take things personally" is absurd. How else do you want to take things?❓You always have to associate a powerful WHY to your goal🥋 Winning a match is NOT a goal. What you do to get that point IS a goal🤷 If I haven't figured it out, then others might have not understood it neither -> I need to explain better.AND MUCH MUCH MORE 🤩🤩🤩!!!Thank you Josh Bishop for the connection 🙏❤️ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

Authenticity. A word I have always struggled with. Overused. Misunderstood. Damaging, especially when used to judge people: "He is not authentic..." And then I received on the show Troels Mark Meyer, the author of the book The Art of Being Authentic (available here: https://a.co/d/8jQuyCb)I enjoyed the book and yet did not agree with all of it. I enjoyed even more exploring our respective approaches during the episode. We both learned a lot. What a great moment of flow, what a joy to move forward with Mark during our conversation! Here are a few nuggets of what we discussed during the episode: 🥅 Goal driven and Purpose driven are 2 very different ball games with 2 different destinations😞 Trauma is not a matter of "how big it was" but "how you perceived it"📣 Changing language when sharing your emotions can have a massive impact. Example: Transform "I am angry" into "I feel anger" and see for yourself!🧑‍🤝‍🧑 It is not just about you. Others play a prime role in the way we live our lives🪄 There is a strong difference between Intentions and ManifestationsAND MUCH MUCH MORE 🤩🤩🤩!!!I enjoyed the conversation with you Troels Mark Meyer. And there it is. The PART II of my conversation with Josh Bishop 🤩🤩🤩I received a lot of feedback on PART I. The story of Josh touched and resonated with quite a lot of you.In that second conversation, Josh and I dive a bit more into the world of film-making and Josh's career. Here are some of the things we talked about:🎬 There is a deep difference between US movies and European ones: European movies are NOT made for commerce🤝 It truly is about who you know🙃 His first documentary Made in Japan was supposed to follow a stellar path and it did not eventually, which was a big let down🔗 You do movies because you HAVE TO (as a personal necessity), not because you WANT TO≠ Career and purpose are two very different thingsAND MUCH MUCH MORE!!!!ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

Head of Partnerships. You might laugh but I did not even know this was a position in a company.

Then I met the great Dounia Jouron, PhD. And a whole world opened up.

Dounia works in a payment company, Adyen.

When we met and decided to record an episode together, I did not know what to expect.

I met a person who is driven by great principles and an obsession of the big picture, might it be at work or in her life. A truly fascinating conversation.

Here are a few things that struck me during our conversation:

🤲 Partnership is not a job, it is a mindset 💥 Trust is not based on stories and promises, but on actions 👍 Failure is a part of a process, not something to avoid 🤔 Intuition plays a big role Dounia's way to manage her partnerships ❓ When considering a partner, see how they treat THEIR customers

I do not know how to introduce this episode.

Josh Bishop will probably impact you just like me: deeply.

He is an award-winning director specializing in feature documentaries. Check what he has done here 👉 https://lnkd.in/drDJYqmf and here 👉https://lnkd.in/dNEfUYbQ.

But Josh did not have it easy.

He has one of the most incredible lives I have known so far.

A hectic life. Sometimes really tough.

Josh might not agree, but to me he is a true survivor. A miracle.

This episode is the Part 1 of our conversation. That's a first since I created the show.

Part 2 is in the making.

This is a unique episode:

  • You will embark on the incredible life of Josh. A hectic journey. Tough. Full of ups and mega downs.
  • You will not believe what Josh shares with us. Nor how he is alive and the great person he is today.
  • You will be touched by the man, the artist, the father, the husband, the son, the brother, and more. All imperfect. All like you and me. Just real and beautiful.

My bet is that you will be changed by that episode.

And that you will desperately wait for Part 2.

ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

Thank you William Cunningham (IG profile: wjcunn1ngham) for introducing me to Josh ❤️

Mindfulness ❌❌❌

I could not hear this word anymore. Full of fluff. I had the sensation that everyone used it at all times for everything.

In fact, I just did not understand what mindfulness was.

Terri Allen helped me view mindfulness in a completely different way.

Because, after living the high life, creating the Dubai Fashion week 2 decades ago, working in fashion and beauty, she operated a radical change.

Terri is an incredible human being: her life is dedicated to give Children a Voice and enrich their education by TEACHING mindfulness ❤️.

She wrote 2 books 📖 (in fact 3 books, you will hear that in the episode next week) for kids (find them here: https://lnkd.in/djq3T4My), has a foundation and coaches kids and parents who want to navigate the adventure of life with strong roots and landmarks.

I spent the whole conversation learning and opening my mind with Terri, broadening my horizons on a topic I found boring and misused.

Thank you Terri 🙏❤️

Here a few things we talked about 🎙:

❌ Mindfulness is NOT about being perfect and be exempt of the hassles of life 🔌 Mindfulness IS about awareness and connectedness ⚓️ It helps you navigate the adventure of life with solid roots 🧒 Teaching mindfulness to children has a huge impact on their upbringing ☯️ Mindfulness helps you balance THINKING with FEELING and PRESENCE 🎬 We are the writers, actors and producers of our life 🔁 Unpleasant Patterns are a sign to stop and uncover the dust under your carpet

AND SO SO MUCH MORE 🤩🤩🤩!!!!

Philosophy. If you are turned down by the word, don't waste too much time on this post. But if, like me, you see in Philosophy an art that we need more than ever in today's world, you are about to have a goooooooood time.Meet William Cunningham (IG profile: wjcunn1ngham), a professor in philosophy and ethics at The University of Notre Dame Australia, a brazilian 🇧🇷 jiu-jitsu instructor and a man in life-style transition - from urban to nature. This episode is unique. In the 32 episodes of the podcast, I always took the time to deep dive into the life of each pf my guests. At the end, the audience and I felt we knew each guest better, sometimes intimately. At the end of THIS episode, I still had no clue about Will's life. But I had the feeling I knew him very closely. Like a long-time friend. This is the power of great connections. We dived directly into a conversation about touching the Sacred and we journeyed from that point, in a free and deep flow, full of joy and mutual care. Here are some of the things we talked about: 👪 What we believe in is vastly inherited❓ Being open to questioning our beliefs is a critical skill to a fulfilling existence🔨 Experiencing is key. Thinking alone leads nowhere🙏 Gratitude is a super power⛰️ Plato's cave myth is a very useful story to understand key dimensions of life❤️ I think therefore I am (Descartes) -> I love therefore I amAnd MUCH MUCH MORE 🤩🤩🤩!!!I often say that the most difficult battle and deep desire in my life is to truly LOVE myself. At the end of the episode, I was thinking that maybe my true desire is to LIVE myself. It was a fascinating conversation. Dive into it with the curiosity and joy of an explorer.ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

If you love any type of Martial Art, if you were an immigrant child who had to go through integration - and its pains and terrors, if you are interested in health, nutrition, autoimmune diseases, this episode is really for YOU.I had an epic discussion with an incredible man: Marko Papuckovski, founder of Humanli Wellness and ex-MMA fighter who trained with the same coaches as the legend Georges St Pierre, a major Ultimate Fighting Championship champion.Marko was born in Macedonia https://lnkd.in/d2D4qV5s and immigrated in Australia at the age of 9, with no English knowledge... Imagine what he had to go through. He started Martial Arts at the age of 5 and that changed his life. Here are some of the things we discussed during our intense conversation:🥋 Martial arts is about who you are, not what you do.😔 The two major emotions he experienced when he started his life in Australia were embarrassment and shame.📣 Mistakes are not mistakes. They are feedback.🤩 You reach unbelievable levels of performance when you normalize the extraordinary (this sequence is memorable).🙌 To fulfill your ambitions and express your true self, you need to SHOW UP and CHOOSE THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENTand MUCH MUCH MORE 🤩!!!I feel so grateful to have spent time with you Marko.ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩 !!!

You can lose a lot of friends when you transition professionally. I will start this one with a disclaimer.Warning: This podcast includes content that may be disturbing to some listeners because of war violence stories.Nicholas P D Seedsman is a human being like you will not meet in a long time.He entered the Australian Navy at the age of 17 and the SAS (Special Forces) at the age of 21 https://lnkd.in/djXmxmq8. This is unique at such a young age.During more than 3 hours, we re-visited Nicholas' life experience from his childhood to now - where he manages his investments, consults for Family Offices and resides Latin America where he operates his global foundation for war veterans.Nicholas' choice to live a life of extreme fortitude and endurance led him to a complete collapse. This episode explores the renaissance following the nightmares of mental agony and physical powerlessness. You will discover details about top soldiers in the world that you could never imagine. Their training, their exposure to risk, to death, to brotherhood and high principles. To injustice. To light and darkness. Here are some nuggets of what we talked about:🥱 At SAS you learn how to learn in extreme fatigue❌ Most of the people pushing themselves to the extreme of SAS have likely experienced significant vulnerability as a child in any shape or form.🌪️ You can make yourself numb to escape the emotional storm in you. However it will fire back like a tsunami and force you to listen.🙏 Start with your mental health. Then your physical health. Then your soul health.😖 "You're never good enough" can take you very far in life. BUT if you don't love yourself eventually, your body will stop operating and you'll die of it.It is one of the most intense conversations I've had. With an exceptional human being.Nicholas is a true warrior. Some people have an insatiable curiosity. Of everything. And everyone.

I found one: please meet Corina Goetz 💫

Corina is the founder of Star-CaT and her purpose is to give you all the tools you need to succeed in the Middle East.

As a child of East Germany - that used to be under Soviet influence, the comment she often got was:

"Oh you are from the East?". With sometimes superiority or despise in the voice. And it hurt.

"Oh you are from Saudi Arabia?". Same question. Same eyebrows raised. Pre-cooked images in the mind of people (including mine for so many topics).

Corina refuses prejudice and early judgement. And she actively works for the understanding of people from different cultures. That is a part of her job and she does it brilliantly.

You will LOVE our conversation and Corina's energy and immense expertise.

Corina talks about:

❌ Why most of the things we THINK we know about Middle East are probably wrong 👐 How curiosity helps you create real bonds with people of all walks of life 🇸🇦 Why KSA (Saudi Arabia) is THE place to discover in the world today 🏨 What it is like to be a woman in the hospitality industry and why it need to CHANGE 🥶 BONUS: Why cold water showers and swims are her recipe for health and happiness

And MUCH MUCH MORE 🤩!!!

I ended the recording of the episode FULL OF ENERGY 🤩 and positive vibes.

This one caught me by surprise.

An epic conversation with Dr. Harvey Schuck about doctor and patient engagement became a CX and EX masterclass 🤩

Harvey is a physician working in 'Extended Urgent Care' in Atlanta, Georgia, a unit that sees patients who can't / won't go to Emergency Room in a public hospital.

What I learned through the 35 years of experience of Harvey is simply magnificent and I hope you will find the same depth in our conversation than I did.

One element will stay in my mind forever after our chat: GET INVOLVED AND INVOLVE. This advice is gold.

Here are some snippets of what Harvey talks about:

❌ The Healthcare American System is broken ⏱ You have 30 sec to connect with a patient 🧑‍⚕️ Medicine is more an art than a technical job ❤️ Why his role is NOT to make people better BUT to make them FEEL better 😣 What burnout really is 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Why 'nice doctors have nice teams'

And SO MUCH MORE 🤩🤩🤩

If you work in the medical / healthcare field and in any service job, you can't miss this conversation: it is full of gems 🌟 you can use in your daily practice, right away.

Today's Moment of Gratitude is dedicated to a woman I love and respect so much, Paula Thomas 🙏.

Paula is the host of one of the best shows in Loyalty Marketing: Let's Talk Loyalty.

She is the one who made me realize I could do my own show and she helped me set it up.

Without her, People, Not Numbers would not have existed as an idea. Thank you Paula.

Follow Paula's show on any major platform. My two fav episodes:

I usually love to find a punchline to introduce my guests. This time, I couldn’t: there were too many options!

Christopher Lembke is THE guest you want to discover in this episode if:

📈 You believe we should change the way business is done

❌ You sometimes have the feeling you don’t fit it

🌌 You understand / feel we are multidimensional beings evolving in multiple dimensions at the same time

⚡️ You want to know how to change your level of vibration (or you are curious about the notion) and thrive

🤩 You want to stop resisting the flow and touch your full potential

BONUS: 😤 You experience road rage (like me) and want to learn practical ways to master it

The list is endless [I made a huge effort to stop it here 😅]

I had a few breakthroughs during our conversation. One of them will stay with me for the rest of my life ❤️:

“Pain in inevitable, suffering is optional”.

Chris shares with us very concrete tools 🛠 to navigate through life. He is all about abundance, joy, connection with self, others and everything that surrounds us.

Sit down and relax, you are about to embark into a delightful conversation 🤲, fluid, human, deep, rich, so real.

She has set a clear goal for herself 🎯: spread the kindness revolution and change the world in a positive way. Barbie. Has. No. Limit. 🦸‍♀️

This episode is deep and rich conversation with an exceptional woman:

My guest today is controversial, and this is what I loved most about Dr Thomas Oosthuizen when we recorded our conversation.

If you are into marketing and believe, like Thomas, that 99.9% companies do NOT offer a seamless experience, you will be hooked by what he has to say: 👇👇👇

🏃‍♀️ Consistent mediocrity is better than inconsistent brilliance 🎯 The marketing recipe is simple: put you customer are the center of ANY board conversation and ask “what would she/he/they say?” 💎 Marketing is NOT about the problem you solve or the service you render: it is about “What makes you different from your competitors?” 🤲 Most chat boxes are totally useless: humans need humans, people need people 🤸‍♀️ Don’t worry, if you don’t do anything, you won’t make any mistake…

The sharpness of Thomas and his sense of humor seduced me from start to finish 🏁.

This conversation is a journey, a journey full of depth, joy, and fundamental concepts to have in mind if you want your marketing to be meaningful and successful 👍.

Nicholas Janni (whose name I mispronounce in the first 10 seconds of the teaser 🙈 - think "Yanni") is the author of the recent book "Leader as Healer".

He chose to be with me on the podcast on the very day of his book release on March 24, 2022 😮 🙏.

What a gift it was 🎁.

For Nicholas, we, human beings, became numb to our and others' emotions and forgot that we are creatures who FEEL, SENSE, INTUIT and THEN THINK and DO, not the other way around.

Nicholas coaches now some of the top CEOs on this planet. He tells me all about his experience in creating #engagement when you are a leader and how you can heal yourself and those around you. Check this out:

👇 being #present is accessible to all of us - and it is a game changer 🪚 without sensing, feeling, intuiting, we operate with one hand only 😶 our meetings, as they are, are dysfunctional ❄️ non expressed #emotions = frozen energy 👩‍🔧 a 'leader as healer' repairs fragmentation - they don't save anyone

During the podcast, Nicholas made me try a simple #meditation exercise 🧘‍♂️ to be fully present in the moment. You will have a chance to practice it with me 👍 (not in your car please 🚗 🙈).

ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

Thank you Tom Young MCC for introducing me to Nicholas 🙏.

I am offering you a powerful episode today.

Nathalie Sejean (IG: @nathaliesejean), a Story Fabricator, a Maker, is on the show to talk about engagement and how, through the stories we tell and through 'making', we can impact the world around us.

Check this out:

🔈 Everything on this planet is a story ⟳ Our life is a process: there is no mistake, just the normal flow of any process 💥 What matters is the IMPACT we make 😱 We choose to share the things we dislike. We can choose to do the opposite 🦸‍♂️ The current narrative tells us that one day, one man, will save the world. This is the best way to keep us asleep and numb in front our TV 📺

If you want to nurture your approach of engagement with power and clarity, make sure you don't miss this episode.

🙏 MY MOMENT OF GRATITUDE🙏: This is the start of a series where I want to thank people who made a difference in my life.

It might be because of who they are ❤️, a book they wrote 📖, a podcast they host 🎙, their art 🖼, something they did or said 📣, anything really.

I hope you will enjoy this format and find some source of inspiration through the amazing 🤗 people who I will acknowledge and thank along the way.

Matthieu Stefani is the first of this series 🥇. He is the host of two major podcasts in France: Generation Do It Yourself [GDIY] and La Martingale.

My revelation about podcasting came from Matthieu and his work is the reason why I started my own show.

GDIY is also, and by a large distance, the best learning gift 🎁 I offered to myself. I feel I am attending the best MBA of all times 💥: the guests of GDIY have taught me invaluable lessons about life and business.

⚠️ To Men who struggle with emotions ⚠️ ⚠️ To distant Dads who live far away from their kids ⚠️ ⚠️ To all of you who want to discover more about the inner world of men ⚠️

This Episode is for you ❤️

Here is the gift of the day: 2h of conversation with the Master-coach Tom Young 🤩

As boys 👦, we are often encouraged to "be a man", not to cry, not to love pink 🎀, not to "run like a girl" 🏃‍♀️. When we reach teenage hood and adulthood the result is often a strong fear to embrace our emotions. An incapacity to love our inner complexities, our masculine and feminine facets, our shadows and lights.

Dive into this delicious conversation 🎙 with Tom and explore with me what we, as men, can do about what we feel ❤️. Discover stories about distant dads 👴 who live far away ✈️ from their kids and gather to share their struggles instead of isolating themselves 🔒.

The recording session passed by like the blink of an eye 👁, smooth and deep, effortless. Thank you Tom!
