Today's episode sounds a bit dark, but if the discussion is heard, it should be a ray of light to those of us looking optimize our experiences while we are here. Unfortunately, many of us unnecessarily operate in survival mode in many aspects of our lives. Ensuring things stay afloat, but never venturing far from shore, leaving so much undiscovered experiences, joy and happiness far out of reach from our lives. One way to be able to tell if your are to take a look at some of the most common regrets shared by those who were at their end stages of life. While all different people with unique stories and experiences, their regrets echoed many of the same shared sentiments and it is my thought that most of the behavior tied to the regrets was due to lives lived inside "the box" for the sake of survival. Well, if you don't know by now, I want us to THRIVE. Let's talk about the wisdom of those that came before and not let the wisdom they shared with us go to waste. I hope you enjoy this thought provoking discussion!

It's the new year and many of us  resolve to take action towards a new goal or maybe even towards quitting a bad habit, but not all activity is productive, positive or transformative. There is a power in the stillness and even in the anxiety of not knowing or doing anything...better yet there is power in the BOREDOM that many of us avoid at all costs. Don't think you're ever bored? Well...not so fast, it's not as easy to identify as you may think and once you do identify it and harness the power in it, a world of opportunity awaits. Let's take a look at what scientists say about the phenomenon of boredom, its impact and how it shows itself in unexpected ways in our day to day lives. Let's also take a look at how we became the society that drills into us that inactivity is to be avoided at all costs and that displeasure with the work at hand is a cardinal sin that means simply that you are lazy or undisciplined. Often times that's not the case at all, but that's what we have been taught. When we can identify these moments of dissatisfaction and sit with them, we can better reclaim our thoughts and our time and reflect that energy back inward allowing us to become better versions of ourselves in the process. Don't believe me? Yeah...let's just talk :)

Welcome to my podcast! I just want to officially say I AM SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU! As a result of many of my own personal experiences with health, I have always been interested in learning more about natural health, herbalism, prevention...anything that might help improve health with the least amount of outside intervention possible. I even built a YouTube channel around the subject matter, but what I have realized is that while physical health is extremely important, it holds very little value if equal effort isn't placed on optimizing mental health, improving relationship dynamics and expanding awareness of self. Without ALL of these aspects in balance, we are ultimately still unhealthy and still bound to repeat or fall back into self destructive habits and ways of thinking. Ultimately, what we don't address on the inside (mentally and spiritually) will eventually rear its ugly head on the outside (physical health and habits). We always hear that real change starts from the inside out and it's so true! But what exactly does that mean? Personally, I believe that it's a journey of unraveling old thought processes and developing healthier ways of coping, thinking, relating and being. I mean...it's definitely A LOT of work and there are no shortcuts, but I'm here in hopes that we can discuss and figure this thing out together and that you all know that at all times no matter the discussion, subject matter, debate or point of view, it is always done in the spirit of love and in the pursuit of a healthier mind, body, soul and collective.
