SCRIPTURES & QUOTES:

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

In honor of the life and passing of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Enriquez wanted to share this quote which can help to center our 2023 resolutions:

“What is truly great grows outside the limelight; and stillness at the right time is more fruitful than constant busyness, which degenerates all too easily into mindless busywork. All of us, in this era when public life is being more and more Americanized, are in the grip of a peculiar restlessness, which suspects any quietness of being a waste of time, any stillness of being a sign of missing out on something. Every ounce of time is being measured and weighed, and thus we become oblivious to the true mystery of time, the true mystery of growing and becoming: stillness. It is the same in the area of religion, where all our hopes and expectations rest on what we do; where we, through all kinds of exercises and activities, painstakingly avoid facing the true mystery of inner growth toward God. And yet, in the area of religion, what we receive is at least as important as what we do.”

The church and the world offer drastically different takes on marriage, sex, birth control, and children. Many young women have questions, but it’s not always obvious where to turn for answers.

Today we explore some of the hurdles facing young women and married couples as they navigate Christian approaches to sex and children in a secular culture that has completely missed the mark.

Spoiler alert: God’s design is more liberating, more fulfilling, and more empowering than anything secular culture can offer on these points.

Words matter. They signify realities and allow us to pursue truth together with others. So naturally, one of the easiest ways to subvert truth and divert our quest for THE Truth (God) is to gut language. And that’s exactly why today our culture is engaged in a battle over the meaning of words.

Today we’re going to talk about why words matter, how they’ve been strategically redefined, and what we can do to hold the line and defend the truth.

The question we want to tackle in today’s episode is: should people of faith be on social media? Are we contributing to people being drawn in and away from real life? Are we contributing to people just staring at their phone versus engaging with the world around them?

And if we should be on social media, then how should we, as people of faith,  be using it?

We’re both still working through how we feel about social media. And we definitely aren't trying to tell you how to feel about it. We're just sharing our experiences, and we hope it’s food for thought.

Welcome back to another episode of Wild + Beautiful. In today’s episode we are talking about God’s love letter to His people and to each of us individually: Scripture.

We love Scripture. It’s a big part of our personal lives. And we are hoping that this conversation will help to provide some ideas to enhance your reading of Scripture, or maybe even inspire you to make Scripture a habit for the first time.

It may seem obvious that reading the Bible is important, but we want to drill down on that a little bit because there's so much opportunity for information consumption. And as people living in the age of information overload, it’s so important that we know how to look at culture through God’s lens of Scripture.

There are 101 different ways that we could take a conversation about abortion. But since this is our first episode tackling the topic, our intent is to actually lay the groundwork because not everybody necessarily knows as much about abortion as we do. Combined between us, we have 25 years of experience in the pro-life movement. And so we come at this topic and episode with a whole lot of advocacy, intellectual experience, and personal experience.

There is a lot of misinformation when it comes to the issue of abortion; medical misinformation, legal misinformation, psychological misinformation. But first we want to explore what civil disobedience is from the lens of Christianity.

There’s no easy way to back into this one, let’s dive head first.
