Many of us dread having to convey our ideas to others, often feeling ill-equipped, anxious, and awkward. Public speaking experts help by focusing on planned communication experiences such as slide presentations, pitches, or formal talks. Yet, most of our professional and personal communication occurs in spontaneous situations that creep up on us and all too often leave us flustered and stumbling for words. How can we rise to the occasion and shine when we’re put on the spot?
In Think Faster, Talk Smarter, Stanford lecturer, podcast host, and communication expert Matt Abrahams provides tangible, actionable skills to help even the most anxious of speakers succeed when speaking spontaneously. Matt provides science-based strategies for managing anxiety, responding to the mood of the room, and making content concise, relevant, compelling, and memorable. Drawing on stories from his clients and students, he offers best practices for navigating Q&A sessions, shining in job interviews, providing effective feedback, making small talk, fixing faux pas, persuading others, and handling other impromptu speaking tasks.

Gen Z has gotten the worst reputation possible by managers in the workplace. Calling us entitled, lazy, every name under the sun. But is it really a problem with us, or is it a problem with our leadership and the structure?

A successful relationship with God is something that alludes many of us. Far too often we find ourselves slipping away from God, struggling to hear him, and hiding away from him due to our own shame.
God wants nothing more than for us to have a successful relationship with him, and overcoming our past and our shame is one of the key steps to building that successful relationship.
This week I am honored to be joined by Whitney Roehl - Co-Founder of Steadfast Life Coaching and author of Reckless Grace.
In our conversation - Whitney talks about the power of overcoming the struggles of her own past - a difficult relationship with her father, bad relationships with men, negative thoughts, and the shame that came from all of those experiences.
We should never be ashamed of our past. Our shame should never hold us back from achieving success.

This week I am honored to be joined by my friends Matt Singer & Devinder Carson.
Growing up it's inevitable that friends will go their separate ways and that we will lose touch. But just because communication was lost for a while that doesn't mean it has to be lost forever.
I was very fortunate to be able to reconnect with my friends after 6 YEARS of not speaking to each other, and the conversation we had was incredible.
We cover everything from dealing with our new jobs, male loneliness, struggles we've overcome during this time apart and more.
I hope this episode encourages you to reach out to a friend you haven't seen in a while. They might just be waiting for you to call.

To anyone who is only vaguely familiar with Isobel's work, they may have seen one of her day in the life TikToks which people seem to love. While I love them as well, as I continued to consume more and more of Isobel's content I quickly realized she is not just like every other creator - she is an artist.
Her work on Youtube particularly strikes a chord with me every time I watch. Her ability to take what other people would call "mundane" or "normal" and turn it into beautiful art is unparalleled.
Her videos never shy away from any topic of the human experience - love, loss, anxiety, worry, joy, happiness, you name it, it's there. I know anybody in their 20's will truly resonate with her work as she is a master at being able to find the beauty in all moments of life.

Today I am honored to be joined by Colin Campbell.
Colin is a writer and director for theater and film. The short film he co wrote and directed with his wife Gail "Seraglio" was nominated for an Academy Award.
But, if you ask Colin how he would define himself, first and foremost he would say he is a father.
On June 12th 2019, Colin's children Ruby and Hart were tragically killed by a drunk driver.
As Colin was thrown into grief, he found that the existing dialogue around grief did not provide the support he needed. He was told grief is a private and mysterious process and that the pain is so deep that there are "no words" to describe the pain.
Colin decided to take action and he offered out a new path for processing pain that is active, vocal, and truly honors Ruby and Hart.
In his new book "Finding the Words", Colin teaches readers how to engage their community, engage in mourning rituals, and find ways to express their grief so they may live more fully while holding on to the ones they love.

What is the meaning of life? Why are we here? What is the purpose of any of this?
The perfect trifecta of existential questions you and your friends contemplate at 3 am while eating a Big Mac that's hitting the spot extra nice because McDonald's was the only thing open... oh the good old days.
From college kids in their dorms, to the world's most renowned thinkers, these questions have been debated for generations, with no definitive universal answer. Only individual answers.
My individual answer - the purpose of life is just to live. Confused? Allow me to explain.
In today's episode, we discuss how the act of living is all it takes to appreciate all the good that is in our world.

Before time chooses to heal all wounds, time initially chooses to make minutes feel like days as we struggle to get through difficult periods in our lives.
The time period as we transition from the world of being a student to the "real world" is one of those periods.
Unfortunately, we can't embrace all shades of blue with open arms, and the Post Grad Blues fits the bill for today's discussion.
In today's discussion, we acknowledge the bad so we can focus on how to find the good. We walkthrough a list of actions we can all take to change our mindset to focus on the joy of what is yet to come while appreciating all the joy we had as students.
