From the dawn of time, or at least since the dawn of the calendar, Monday has been known as the most dreaded day of the week.
This is why it’s perfect for what a Joke.
It’s a comedy podcast true to its name where I, your host, Bayo Oduwole, make you laugh, teach you stuff like weird history and crazy politics while making you laugh, get your blood pumping, fix up your life, force you to think about important things, and call you out on your bs, all while still making you laugh.
It's a pretty big promise, now listen to me deliver it all in under 20 minutes.
the final episode of our very very long and weirdly uninterrupted episode run is here. Yes, Season 5 is over and Bayo is taking a break.
Before you panic, hear what he has to say in this very very very chaotic episode.

I know you guys aren't scared of it anymore, but The Bermuda Triangle used to be one of the scariest things out there. Now it's like one of those big bosses who becomes your ally after you defeat them. Utterly unthreatening.
Anyway, I thought I'd do an episode either wayyyy.

Assassinations!
We've all heard the word, and yes they aren't just stuff out of an action block buster. What's even crazier is that even today, they happen quite frequently.
But as with everything, you can't always get it right, and sometimes failure means no second chances. Today I present to you some of THE absolute worst fails of assassination attempts in history. Episode written by Ife Olutayo.

Last month marked the end to the long political cycle in my home country Nigeria and it saw certain men and women victorious across every level. What a Joke congratulates them and I hope I don’t get thrown in prison because while I won’t insult my nation… the jokes are going to be too hard to keep away
There are so many things I could say, but they don't quite capture the feeling that's hanging in the air right now.
This week is our second anniversary, or 'podversary' and I decided to do something a little special.
Thank you for making the last two years an especially amazing journey, and cheers to lots more jokes, lessons and everything what a joke. Happy anniversary!
PS, listen to the entire episode for a special treat. We're doing a giveaway too (thank you Jamit)!

England once had a King named Henry… eight times. The eighth and final Henry, until further notice, was a man who will be remembered for many of the wrong things such as his gluttony, obesity and so on. But he will be remembered most… for his wives.
Three K(C)Catherines
Two Annes
And one Jane
King Henry VIII married six women but only ever had one wife per time
Sit back as your host, narrator and sole cast of this episode, takes you on a journey back in time, to Old England.

Bayo: Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the most badass author of them all?
That would be Agatha Christie, of course. A woman who's head, shoulders, knees and toes above the rest.
On today's episode, however, we talk less about her achievements, and more about a few weird things that happened in her life. For example, if it was up to her mother, Agatha would have remained an illiterate for a looong time.
Listen to the full episode and don't forget to share it with your friends, enemies and loved ones. Share the funny!
We should all know more about periods -
Bayo, 2023.It's Women's History Month and Bayo decided it was time to get serious (for real, it's a very serious episode and you totally shouldn't laugh at every joke he and his guests make).
In this episode, Bayo and his guests brush over the bare minimum you should know about periods, hoping to start a conversation that continues even off the mic.
Share this episode with anyone you think needs to hear it. And if you want to take it a step further, you can post a video on your social media promoting the episode.
Period education is something everybody needs to have, because for some it's the difference between compassion and ignorance.
For others it's the difference between utter confusion and avoiding embarrassment, and that's on periodt.

What happens when you let AI write an episode of What a Joke?
The results are a little… too accurate.
(Episode was released a day later due to the ongoing Nigerian presidential elections)
From generation to generation, we've seen great events, curious happenings and so on.But hold up, what exactly is a generation? Well, Bayo, Prof, Kabiru, Shalewa and lil B break it all down in a round-ish table discussion.
So buckle up as we break down generational borders.

The smallest too.
Well, you’ve probably heard that isn’t the case anymore. So what happened?

Long ago in a distant land, unless you’re already in North America, a war was threatened, between the British and the Americans over land they didn’t even own.
No no, not that war. This was a much much muuuch smaller one, on an island far in the west. Tensions rose and guns were at the ready. Vengeance, Honour, Restlessness and a death in the
family, mixed together for a scary powder keg of masculinity.
Grab your seats kids, this is the legend of The Pig War!
Shalewa Holmes and his assistant, Watson, are back with another cracking case, but this one hits close to home. It’s the case of Elizabeth Holmes! Is she Shalewa’s distant cousin?

Quite literally, I’m not even exaggerating in the slightest.

Back in the USA, when it was still just a few states called America, a young Russian immigrant built an entire empire capable of going toe to toe with the American government.
This is the tale of the Banana Man, who would make even John Wick shiver.
PS, wanna guess why he’s called the Banana man?

Queen Cleopatra. Whether or not you know her story, you’ve most likely heard the name of one of history’s most famous monarchs.
On this episode, Bayo brings back the Sowemimo twins for a what a joke style Game show in Two Truths and a Lie about Cleopatra
For the un-twinned and for the culture, Bayo and his guests, the Sowemimo twins, continue in the second part of this double feature, as your host tries to unlock the secrets of twinhood and, per the usual, bring along the laughs.
There’s something about twins. For one, there’re two of them. But what else? Are they telepathic? Do they feel each other’s pain? Can Bayo famz hard enough to someday have his own twins?
In the first part of this double feature, join Bayo and the Sowemimo twins for a what a joke Monday like never before.
For a country that cracks down so hard on piracy, it’s funny how America owes its existence today to a pirate.
A daring entrepreneur, one of the greatest captains the seas have ever seen, a whole snack, and the savior of America. What a Joke, meet Captain Jean Lafitte.
It started with an idea… to create the most high profile party the world has ever seen. Something “on the brink of your wildest dreams and virtually impossible”.
But it all went wrong, and it was one man’s fault. This is the story of the Fyre Festival.
7.9 billion???
Parenting isn’t easy, but you know what should be? Not giving birth to nine children! I mean, all you have to do is not do it, right?

Listen to the dramatic tale and learn alot more about elevators than anybody needs to know, on the episode 'Elevator Baby'.
Sexy goats, babies on the river, random floggings and secret weddings. This is the story of Valentine's like you've never heard it before!
In today's Bonus episode of What A joke, Bayo your host talks about the brief history of Banks in Nigeria.
Most people wonder if the Naira will ever return to its former glory, and even if not, whether or not it has a chance of rising at all.
In an interview (purely for banter) with a 'certified' professor of Economics & Yahoonomics (Asher) from the university of Plaklinsçly, Bayo and his guest break down how Yahoo Yahoo can be used to improve the strength of the Naira.
If you’ve been awake in the past year then you've probably heard of the term NFT, but in case nobody ever stopped to break it down for you... what are podcast hosts for?

Listen to what A joke on Jamit.fm
When you hear that you might be deployed to war, the same week that your country loses Twitter and almost changes its name, it can feel like your world is about to end.
In 'what a joke' fashion, Bayo covers the most unnecessarily dramatic week in recent Nigerian history, the first week of June 2021.
And he does it three Act style
Australia, earth’s maximum-security prison for everything dangerous. Long ago, when it was still just a baby country/continent, they faced the greatest foe in the history of their nation in an all-out, guns blazing, feathers flying war... and lost.
This is the story of what is known as ‘The Great Emu War’
(PS, if you thought the war of the bucket was bad, wait till you get a load of this!)
Almost a year ago, the nation of Nigeria went through one of its most trying ordeals in recent times. In this episode, Bayo and his guest, Asher, attempt to follow the clues and uncover who was behind it, as Detective Shalewa Holmes and Dr. Joromi Watson.
Now, for the moment you've been waiting for... if you care at all. How does this all relate to Nigeria?
Well, in movies, we've all noticed that when aliens want to invade the world that means those of us that don't live in New York, Washington, London, Tokyo, Beijing, and maybe Paris... did I miss anywhere else? Moscow?
Yeah, the rest of us are safe. Because aliens and their saucers don't rate the rest of us.
Listen to What A Joke on Jamit learn about new and exciting stories.
With the independence Day celebration of his come country, Nigeria, being just days prior, Bayo starts the second season with a lot of opinions and a very important question.
Is this Independence really all that?
It's been several months since what a joke season 1 ended and then Bayo just vanished, disappeared, went kaput!
What's he been up to in that time?
From a poor Columbian baby to a 17-year-old Billionaire weapon smuggler to a middle-aged Saudi-Arabian Prince. Anthony Gignac had lived more lives than most could boast of in a hundred years, and he's barely cracked fifty.
The world saw him as many things, but who was he, really?
The biggest, baddest, laziest con-artist in the west.
Lies are one of the most natural things to humans, but how much do you know about this little reflex of yours?
Bayo thinks... less than 20%. Now, is that a lie or not?
Ft. The Biggest Liar!
Imagine a world where every bad thing could be blamed on the air being bad?
eg. Mr President, Boko Haram kidnapped...
Ah, it must be that bad Miasma.
It's a pity.
That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but this was the world before the late 1800s. Thank God for scientific advancements.
Bayo recounts one of his many daring adventures (no cap, it's a jungle out there) with transportation in Lagos.
The Okada is one of Nigeria's most tried and tested methods of transportation. Sure, it probably has a higher recorded accident rate than other vehicles and has claimed a lot of lives, it's still a very important and grossly underestimated part of...
I took an Okada, okay? First time in years and it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. But a lot had to happen for me to get on first.
Have you ever wondered, why it’s called “Yahoo Yahoo”? I mean, sure there’s an obvious connection to Yahoo mail (oops, spoiler), but it’s gotta be deeper than that right?

Listen to this hilarious episode of What A Joke as Bayo serves you la hot.
On this episode bayo your host Bayo debunked theories behind the coronavirus, like 5G network transmitting the virus or a bat behind the carrier of the virus. it’s 2021 and either Covid-19 needs a new name, or it needs to get the heck out. People have gone from not caring, to caring too much, to forgetting why they cared at all, and along the way they’ve believed some very “interesting” things.
From the dawn of time, or at least since the dawn of the calendar, Monday has been known as the most dreaded day of the week.
