Taichi Uemura has been Chihiro and Phuong’s friend since university. He has a passion for communicating with people and Business. He is now a CEO of his own company, GIFTLINK (https://gift-link.jp/), a young company of design and solutions for vacant space housing in Japan.
In the second part of this episode, Taichi shared his opinion on his passion: design, which later led to his decision of founding his own company. Giftlink focuses on designs and creativity, and vacant house business. The unique thing about Giftlink is that they provide their products for not just Japanese people but also international customers.

Hi, how are you doing ? It has been so long since we have uploaded the last episode. We don’t want to waste your time more, we are very excited to announce our new episode and our new guest.
Taichi Uemura has been Chihiro and Phuong’s friend since university. He has a passion for communicating with people and Business. He is now a CEO of his own company, GIFTLINK (https://gift-link.jp/), a young company of design and solutions for vacant space housing in Japan.
In the first part of this episode, throughout our questions, Taichi told us a story about his highschool life and how his life changed when he entered university. By living with exchange students in the dormitory, Taichi developed his interests in learning English, and this led to his decision to experience working in Australia later. Taichi shared some important experiences that he started communicating with people BEFORE learning English. The next interesting story is Taichi’s journey of managing a guest house in Kamakura, a famous tourist city in Kanagawa prefecture. You must be wondering how he found the chance and what are the joy and the challenge of managing a guest house !

In the previous part we introduced our guest, Kawachi sensei. She has shared her background stories about her experiences overseas and how she became an English teacher at university. As Kawauchi sensei said, she took her Master degree in TESOL ( Teaching English to Speakers of other languages ) in America. In this part, she shares more details about her experience studying a master degree, and how she found the school which matched her so well.
Also, according to statistics, Japan has ranked 120th out of 156 countries in gender equality. Relating to this fact, Kawachi sensei shares about her experience as a woman working in a higher position, and her views about gender equality.

Happy New year ! Sorry for being on hiatus for a few months !
We have been editing and thinking about the journey of Escapade in 2022, so now we are finally able to bring you a new episode. This episode was recorded in December 2021, featuring one of our professors at university, a passionate mentor who helped us to improve our English and inspired us to found Escapade.
Tomoko Kawachi ( Kawachi-sensei ) has been teaching at Kanagawa University for almost ten years. She has been focusing on teaching Communication in English, in order to help students communicate well using the language in daily conversation and presentation. Also, she started English Cafe in Kanagawa University, an event where students presented various topics in English and discussed.
In the first part of this episode, we interviewed her about her views on education in general, and she gave us a lot of interesting points about Japanese education and other countries based on her own experiences as a Japanese Returnee ( 帰国子女 ). Also, she shared with us the stories of why she decided to become an English teacher and why she decided to get a Master degree..

Good evening, how have you been doing?
As you know, this year the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to three scientists, and one of them, Syukuro Manabe, is given for his work contributing to understanding how the Earth’s climate is changing and making it clear what human’s effect on climate change is.
Hearing this topic, we decided to invite a young girl who has a great passion towards Climate change, who has been turning her knowledge about the problems into actions.
Hikari Matsumoto has been a member of Friday for Future of Japan for one year, and she has been actively participating in a lot of events which protect the environment.
In the first part, Hikari will share something about her English learning journey and her studying abroad experience in Malaysia too.
In the second part, she will talk mainly about her activities as an environmental activist, and she will share with us what we can do to solve this problem.
