Lately, AYYBO has been living life by three letters: GDB. What do they mean? “Goddamn, baby,” he clarifies for Gray Area with a laugh. It was initially a joke born from a dream in which he yelled the phrase on a mic during a show. Somehow, it stuck. “I just started saying ‘GDB’ to all my friends,” he says. “Anything good that would happen, I would just say ‘GDB.’ Then all my fans, when they say ‘GDB,’ I respond with ‘GDB’ as well. Rony Seikaly's life story is something out of a movie. Born in Lebanon, Rony moved to the USA at age ten for four years before moving back to Greece at age 14. While in Greece, he discovered disco and basketball. So he began hosting a "club" in his parent's garage, inviting his friends and teammates over to party while playing any sort of house music he could. Despite never having played before, Rony used his incredible athleticism and drive to quickly become one of the worst-kept secrets in Greece. He attended a high-level basketball camp in the United States and got recruited by Syracuse University.

In this Spotlight, we're joined by Peruvian DJ & producer TolinchiLove. TolinchiLove never intended to be an ambassador for the Peruvian house music scene. He didn’t even intend to be a DJ or producer, “I only wanted to dance. I just wanted to party and connect with people." His career as a DJ is that dream realized. The mission to bring the sounds of classic house to Peru and South America began to materialize when he first stepped up to the decks. And as he looks back on his journey from raver to DJ to international producer, he’s happy that he’s been able to spread the good word of house music to so many people.

In this Spotlight, we're joined by Ukrainian DJ and producer Korolova who's career in electronic music has recently been reinvented as she's changed direction with her sound. Korolova spent most of her career playing EDM under the name DJ Da Queen, but it wasn't until her set at Daydream Festival in 2017 that she realized she was ready for a change. In this Spotlight, we're joined by David Wheatcroft, aka Wheats, an exciting rising house artist from the UK who's making his imprint on the club scene. Despite growing up in Portsmouth, a home education in house/techno and a close proximity to Southampton and Brighton gave David all the tools he needed to launch his career. David’s Al Shrill EP (released in 2017) marked the first real development in his style. The EP came out on Amplified Records, a local brand for which David was a local resident with in Portsmouth. Around the same time as the Al Shrill EP, David connected with Toolroom Records and proceeded to make the label his home. The future is bright for David and he plans to dream big when it comes to the next phase of his career!
