Episode 30: 30 Milestone Questions I did it! 30 episodes! What a big milestone for me and this appropriate list of 30 helped me reflect on my last few months in this project. I have a few more episodes planned, but I think I’ll experiment with new formats moving forward!

Episode 29: 30 TEDx Themes If you’re hosting a TEDx, consider some of these different overarching themes. I think this is one of my most frequently viewed blogposts. The “Vision 2020” one definitely didn’t age well. List: https://www.listsof30.com/p/30-tedx-themes

Episode 28: 30 Steps Projects Become Products Projects often get started, but never make it to a real product. Based on my experience trying to bootstrap a few ideas into products, you can follow this list as a guide of deliverables to reach more users.

Episode 27: 30 Conference Go-er Tips I miss conferences. It’s just not the same without the networking and stranger conversations. Hopefully we’ll see some resemblance of travel again in the near future. List: https://www.listsof30.com/p/30-conference-goer-tips

Episode 26: 30 Talents I’d Learn if I were Stuck in Groundhogs Day I wrote this list in my 20s when I just wanted to show off tricks. Lockdown isn’t groundhogs day when you have a family. This was still a fun exercise to think about the less important little improvements and hobbies. I’ll post a separate list of what I actually learned while in lockdown.

Episode 25: 30 Most Attractive Traits I made this list of attractive lists not to judge other people, but instead to think about what I can do to make myself more attractive. Changing myself is the only think I can control. Improvement: Helped my wife setup her podcasting equipment. Making plans for the evolution of this project.

Life in Lists of 30, Episode 24: 30 Questions for Professionals
Throughout my career, I’ve asked these questions of my mentors and myself. I think they’re revealing to how people approach their professional and personal philosophy. These might also be good interview questions.
Improvements: I was able to record this one pretty quickly because my basement has radon. I wound up editing it separately upstairs from the equipment. I’ll probably need another place to work for a while.

Episode 23: 30 Non-TV Toddler Activities It’s easy to just get lazy and plop the kiddo in front of a TV. I’m trying to enjoy the process and promote as much independence and daydreaming as possible. At my recent beer club discussion, there was a Dad who interviewed a new babysitter. She didn’t use her phone at all because her parents were so obsessed while she was growing up. I’d love to have this as an etiquette and habit for the new generation.

Episode 20: 30 Things I Suck At I admittedly suck at a lot of things. Probably more than 30. Highly recommend writing this list to analyze those little things that could be improved by implementing better systems (or maybe you just accept your flaws and live life).

Episode 19: 30 Survival Skills In case there’s a zombie apocalypse, I’ll probably need to learn some of these skills. I should definitely do a 30 day challenge on learning these skills. Improvement: Single take reading within 6 minutes. I don’t know how it happened, but got everything done within 15 minutes.

Episode 17: 30 Ways to Disconnect It’s hard to be disconnected from your phone since it’s the only window to a social life during this pandemic. It’s also healthy to take a break and try to be more present. Oddly, watching some Netflix without looking at your phone might be healthier.

Episode 14: 30 Ways to Evaluate News Reading news should be approached with context and skepticism. To stay informed, but not swayed by bias pieces, I try to read between the lines and sample multiple sources. A well researched late piece is better than the FUD and emotional rollercoaster of tweets.

Episode 13: 30 Suburban Life Changes Loving Denver and all these little changes. Some of these observations are just moving from apartments to houses and owning a car. Changed publishing of blogposts to Monday/Thursday and podcasts to Tuesday/Friday. Saving y’all some reading time for my ambitious schedule.

Life in Lists of 30, Episode 11: 30 Names for this Era
Wrote this back in April 2020, but I think it’s still relevant. The names suggested could be headers or chapters in a history textbook.
Improvement: I realized I listen to everything at 1.3x speed, so I made the music just a tiny bit slower beat and tried to pause a little bit more. I also got a mic stand that you can see on the YouTube recording.

Predictions of things that will likely be a part of the “new normal” written back in September. I’m hoping the vaccine proves me wrong.
Improvements: Removed dead air time at the end. Added YouTube video for this one to show me reading from my running log transcript. I’ll backfill other episodes. Life in Lists of 30 YouTube Channel.
