Throughout my career, I’ve asked these questions of my mentors and myself. I think they’re revealing to how people approach their professional and personal philosophy. These might also be good interview questions.
Improvements: I was able to record this one pretty quickly because my basement has radon. I wound up editing it separately upstairs from the equipment. I’ll probably need another place to work for a while.

Episode 23: 30 Non-TV Toddler Activities It’s easy to just get lazy and plop the kiddo in front of a TV. I’m trying to enjoy the process and promote as much independence and daydreaming as possible. At my recent beer club discussion, there was a Dad who interviewed a new babysitter. She didn’t use her phone at all because her parents were so obsessed while she was growing up. I’d love to have this as an etiquette and habit for the new generation.

Episode 17: 30 Ways to Disconnect It’s hard to be disconnected from your phone since it’s the only window to a social life during this pandemic. It’s also healthy to take a break and try to be more present. Oddly, watching some Netflix without looking at your phone might be healthier.

Episode 15: 30 Recurring Bills Reviewing your expenses monthly or quarterly could be useful in cutting out any recurring costs that add up. Look at the high cost items more than streaming services. Improvement: Built a few macros for audacity and streamlined process to get this post out with a record time of 20 minutes!

Episode 14: 30 Ways to Evaluate News Reading news should be approached with context and skepticism. To stay informed, but not swayed by bias pieces, I try to read between the lines and sample multiple sources. A well researched late piece is better than the FUD and emotional rollercoaster of tweets.

Improvement: I realized I listen to everything at 1.3x speed, so I made the music just a tiny bit slower beat and tried to pause a little bit more. I also got a mic stand that you can see on the YouTube recording.
