In this episode, Virginia Taylor, Diocesan Missioner for Communications and the Rev. Anna Shine, Campus Missioner at App State and Missioner for Creation Care and Social Justice are joined by an exciting guest, the new director of the Creation Care Alliance, Sarah Ogletree! The three discuss what brought them to the work of Creation Care and how we as Christians are called to minister to the earth as an act of God's love for the world.

She earned her Master of Divinity, with a concentration in religious leadership and ecology, from Wake Forest University School of Divinity. Sarah has worked at the intersection of faith and environment for nearly a decade, partnering with organizations like United Methodist Women, Creation Justice Ministries, GreenFaith, People's Justice Council, Interfaith Power & Light, and Presbyterians for Earth Care. She served as North Carolina Interfaith Power & Light (NCIPL) Program Coordinator from 2019-2021, and now directs the Creation Care Alliance of WNC (CCA). In her role as CCA Director, Sarah is blessed with the opportunity to walk alongside faith leaders and community members here in the Southern Blue Ridge striving to love each other, and the fullness of God's good Creation, well. Sarah lives in Bakersville, North Carolina, with her husband, dog, and two cats.

The Rev. Anna Shine serves as the Missioner of College, 3rd Place, Creation Care, and Social Justice as a campus minister at Appalachian State University and priest at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Boone, NC. She received a BA in religious studies at Elon University, an M.T.S. degree at Harvard Divinity School in the focus area of Women, Gender, Sexuality, and Religion, and an M.Div from Virginia Theological Seminary. While her deep passion is for the care of creation, it is informed by a recognition that this work intersects with every facet of social justice - which necessitates consistent learning and growing on her part to become a better human being in the work towards loving her neighbor. Her joy comes from making music with friends and family, playing with her dog, Hugo, and getting her hands dirty in the soil.

Latino & Hispanic Missioner for the Diocese of WNC, the Rev. Oscar Rozo, is joined by the Rev. Canon Anthony Guillén, Missioner for Latino/Hispanic Ministries and Director, Ethnic Ministries, and the Rev. Samuel Borbón, Associate Missioner for Latino/Hispanic Ministries and Program Development, for this conversation on the Latino Experience in the Episcopal Church and USA. How has social media impacted your faith life? In this episode, Blue Ridge Service Corps member Mayden McDaniel is joined by three youth from the diocese to discuss the impacts of social media on faith practice and how it can be both a tool and a challenge.
