One of my favourite podcasts so far. I’m actually in the middle of Paul Weston’s book called “Running in the Rain” at the moment which I’m loving so getting him on the mind body soul podcast is a real treat!
And boy is there some key learnings coming your way. In effect Paul is an expert on helping people and teams deliver in a productive and successful manner on a consistent basis. His tips will enable you to develop skills that will help you to get your work done in less time and with more quality and who doesn’t want that? Employers and employees alike.
He frames managing our distractions really nicely, it’s a way to get work done quicker with better quality but it’s the why of the time saving that Paul points out that is really important. The time we free up enables us to spend more time doing the things we love with the people we love.
Here are a couple of the pack your bag learnings that you’ll get from this podcast:
· The importance of splitting your life into three spheres and trying to give respect and quality attention to each one.
· Why you need to become aware of a part of the brain called the STN which tells us a lot about how easily distracted we can became unless managed properly.
· How you can create your own personal focus zone as well as how companies are also creating focus zones for all staff where internal email is banned and what the astounding results tell us.
· The ABC system as an improved solution to the never ending and stress inducing traditional to-do list.
· Ways to build healthy habits so that you are not dependent on motivation to get out exercising but so it becomes a non negotiable part of your routine.
· Some suggestions for managing a multi-faceted extracurricular schedule while retaining the enjoyment and allowing for some much-needed downtime.
Oh and if that’s not enough, there’s also much more 😉
Here are some resources which Paul mentions in the podcast that you can dip into if you’d like to find out more:

She also breaks down neuroscience, what it is and how we can rewire our brains and negative thinking patterns.
Other fascinating areas include delving into the 3 brains – head, heart and gut which are now all classified as functional brains with complex neural networks. Jill breaks down what we need to know to live better.
Lastly, Jill shares here 3 non negotiables for looking after her own health and wellbeing.

Adam Molloy offers so much great advice on the following areas in this action & wisdom packed podcast:
· How he defines wellness.
· The importance of a personal definition of success and how to go about that.
· Dealing with the harsh inner critic that we all have.
· Nice daily acts to mind your mind.
· Paving the way for the new generation of men where the “boys don’t cry” mantra will no longer be pushed.
· How toxic masculinity can be as much about what we embody or act out as opposed to what we say.
· Why carrying an aggressive sporting persona into other elements of our lives can cause harm.
Oh and there’s also so much more – enjoy!

Wow, what a mind blowing podcast where Daisy describes the 5 key steps to get healthy habits in place and make them stick.
She also defines important concepts like habit stacking as well as how to make sure you carry out that non negotiable exercise in your week
I also love how she talks about the benefits of a little tech free time in her day and how this actually helped her creativity.
The podcast includes two excellent book recommendations on this area.
She has definitely done her company Multiverse proud with this one. She briefly talks about this great company she works for and how they look after their apprentices’ well-being. Daisy led a habit formation workshop with them to 200 participants and it was well received. She goes into many of the same principles in this podcast with us.

Hope you’re keeping well 😊
How are the resolutions going?
Here’s the thing, you may not have followed through on them or you may be in fine fettle and doing great with them.
Either way, it’s the start of a new month and a great opportunity to double down on efforts and keep up momentum or simply begin again if you’ve fallen off track.
Here’s a few resources which I hope will help you renew your energy in this short month of February:
My Top 10 AHA Personal Development Books (covering mind, body and soul)
10 banging high energy tunes (Spotify)
10 banging high energy tunes (YouTube)
Premier League Mini Daily Healthy Habit Game
And a little mindfulness message to mull:
In life we inevitably encounter painful experiences (the first arrow). However, there comes a point when replaying such experiences in our minds becomes counterproductive and hurtful (the second, third, fourth arrows…). When we recognise such recurring memories, ask yourself, can I simply bring my attention back to the present moment and engage in whatever I want to do right now? Even if it is as mundane as doing the dishes 😊
If you’re looking for a one stop shop for your health and wellness for the remainder of 2022 then my online peak performance code course has lots of wonderful content, then again, I am a little biased 😉 PEAKPERFCODE gets you 10% off.
Until next time, please look after yourselves and each other.

Howdy health and wellness partners,
Wishing you all a prosperous and healthy 2022.
Some tips for health and wellness resolutions to keep in mind:
Ensure your goals are based on what you want for yourself not because you feel "I should" do this... Also, goals based around impressing others and/or keeping someone else happy can lead to a lack of long run motivation.
Start small, don't go from no gym sessions per week to 5 times per week for one hour per session. Much better to start with smaller achievable goals like 3 by 45-minute sessions and build your way into the year.
Remember that better beats perfect so if you don't stick to your goals perfectly in the first month do not give up! Allow yourself to think in terms of grey and not black or white. If you hit 80% of your resolution goals in the first month then you are doing well.
Involve loved ones and accountability buddies or coaches in your goals because social support and shared successes are vital and even more meaningful.
If you want an easy start point for this first week in the new year then please just give these simple 3-video exercises a go. They make up a great little mind, body, soul health challenge to begin this year in fine fettle. stly, if you really want to make your resolutions stick long term then I definitely advise some kind of day-to-day accountability.

Ellie Ballentine (The Mindset Mentor) is the latest guest on the mind body soul podcast.
And what a show it is!
She dicusses:
1. Why we can often find ourselves in the trap of burning out because we are trying to think our way out of it with the same mindset that got us there in the first place.
2. The need to act differently to feel greater positivity and relaxation and some short and longer term steps you can implement for these desired states.
3. How to use a vital reflection technique from Byron Katie's "Loving what is" to deal with harmful thoughts in a much more helpful and healthy way.
4. Ways in which we can approach a difficult conversation with a natural confidence.
5. Keys to implement in order to respond and not react to the important situations of our lives.
Ellie Ballentine is a Transformational Coach in personal growth and leadership and the founder of Ellie Ballentine – The Mindset Mentor. She works to create an alternative context for professionals and entrepreneurs to get past areas in their lives where they feel stuck.

Happy Wednesday Folks!
Here’s a positive little podcast for you on this hump day 😊
Joke:
Did you hear the one about butter?
I can’t tell you – you will only spread it 😉
Compelling research:
Shawn Achor is a positive psychologist whose research shows that success in the workplace is influenced more by soft skills than it is by IQ. The soft skills in question are positivity levels, social support and an ability to see stress as a challenge and not a threat.
Here’s Sean’s very interesting TED talk
Body:
Try a technique called habit stacking to increase your movement. Simply take a habit you do on a daily basis (e.g. boiling the kettle) and while you are waiting, do an exercise like squats – push ups or lunges
Mind:
“How does this help me?” – the next time you notice you are berating yourself for a mistake made in the past, catch yourself on and ask that question. You will soon realise that being a friend to yourself in the spirit of self-compassion is a much more helpful way to be present and move forward with confidence.
Soul:
A definition of soul which I like is the imprint we want to contribute to the world through our interactions with people and nature.
In this spirit, try to identify an opportunity this week to embrace nature or contribute to its wellness e.g. instead of taking the car to training, try cycling instead. Or maybe you could savour a moment during a walk through the park to smell a flower.
Mind Body Soul Podcast Recommendation:
Age is only a number and doesn’t mean our chance to pursue and achieve the things of importance to us ends.
Here’s Tommy Hughes' podcast with me on how he set the world record time for a marathon runner in their 60’s – check it out here
He had issues with alcohol and depression in the past. Running helped him to get a much needed positive and healthy structure in his life to get him back on track.
A little freebie (feel free to forward this email to spread the love):
I have been working hard to put together a free health, wellness and personal productivity guide for y'all - www.Decsfreeguide.com
To watch these take aways in video format as well as hearing about an additional mindfulness and productivity technique using an hour glass then go here
And that’s it for today folks – check out www.performancetreanor.com for more on the work I do and please note that I have added a Self-Compassion workshop to my portfolio of corporate offerings.
Mise le meas,
Deaglán
Hello Everybody,
I’d like to give you some quick health and wellness tips as summer draws to a close and we return to our routines.
What gets measured gets done – use the SMART goal setting model for ONE important goal. S stands for specific e.g. I want to lose 10kg, M stands for measurable (in this case a weighing scales or clothes fitting), A for achievable – yes with efforts on exercise and nutrition, R for relevant – relevant if you are somebody who values being fit in a healthy body and lastly T for time bound – I will have a target date of the 1st of December.
Healthy habit creation is assisted by the Three 3R habit loop. Reminder (an alarm on your phone for example), routine (a practice you follow like the office stretch routine linked here) and reward is recognising the benefits of the routine. Stretch routine video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUehQGcibzg
Start simple with new habits e.g.
a) Start sitting on your sit bones for better posture. This clip shows how - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjmMwn_NN4Y&t=806s
b) Have a water bottle on your desk at all times to remind you to remain hydrated.
c) Try to be on your feet for 30-minutes during your work day.
Now I’d like to finish with a joke, a podcast recommendation and an eastern self-compassion concept:
Did you hear about the Irish man who loved his wife so much that he almost told her? 😉
Mind Body Soul Podcast: Recovering from Burnout to your Positive and Energetic Self - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lV6WEtixYk&t=171s
Mudita is a Buddhist practice which literally translates as “sympathetic joy” and involves taking pleasure in the good fortune of other people. It involves dropping begrudgery and comparison and can help us to feel a greater self-compassion and happiness for our own achievements too.
This idea of self-compassion is one that I really like. Having recently completed a mental health first aid certificate it made me realise the importance of tools like this to help us put mental health on a par with physical wellbeing.
If you would like your company to work with me in the coming months on health and wellness then here are the areas in which I can provide support:

"I feel better in myself".
John was feeling sluggish, lacking in energy and not happy with how he was looking in photos. Then he took on a 3-month body transformation with coach Declan Treanor.
He contacted Declan for a plan and accountability for weight loss and building sustainable healthy habits. Having worked with a trainer before he now wanted more of a "health and wellness aspect" to the approach this time around.
If you listen then John divulges the nutrition plan which gave us such success as well as:
1. How the nutrition plan went from feeling restrictive to being a pleasure.
2. The importance of strategic days off. "Reset" days as John calls them.
3. The benefit of going for a reasonably healthy take away.
4. The benefit of having a physical performance challenge to move towards for your health and weight loss.
5. How John used the run-walk method during runs to up his game.
6. Why the mindset shift from effort to routine is essential.
Chun meáchan a chailleadh caithfidh plean a bheith agat.
