Greg Adams, LCSW, ACSW, FT is Program Coordinator for the Center for Good Mourning and Staff Bereavement Support at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH). Greg has worked at ACH in a variety of roles and areas, including pediatric oncology and palliative care, since 1991. He is an adjunct professor with the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and has been an active volunteer with community and professional organizations. Having faced serious trauma in her own life, Beverly Shoemaker is no stranger to adversity. After losing a husband to suicide and her son in a drunk driving crash, she wanted to give up. Billy Beavers has been in public service in Montgomery County for 34 years, serving 29 years in law enforcement. Billy is currently a Sergeant with Montgomery County Constable Pct. 1 assigned to the Mental Health and Crisis Intervention Division. Billy is the father of 4, Brandi 28, Emily and Mason 8 year old twins, and Tommy who now resides with our Lord. He also has a beautiful 9 month old granddaughter Raegan. Feike immigrated in 2006 from the Netherlands to continue his career in music he is married to fine art painter Noelle Weimann. Feike experienced a house fire where he lost 2 young sons on July 15th 2014, he and his 9 month old twin son got life flighted to Salt Lake City where they got treated for 3rd and 4th degree burns. Feike shortly lost his job as Social Worker and after losing his job experienced severe depression in combination with his PTSD. 9 months after the dreadful fire Feike applied for the local fire department because he wanted to help other people that are experiencing tragedy, but he also wants reach out to first responders dealing with trauma. Feike now serves as a Chaplain for the local Hospice, Chaplain for Fremont County Sheriff’s Department and Disaster Response member for the Wyoming chapter of the American Red Cross.

The truth is, life is tough and sometimes really bad things happen. I know because I've had my share--- from abuse to divorce to financial hardship, and loss. But one of the things you’ll hear me say frequently is, “life happens to all of us, but the true story is told in how we respond to what has happened.”
There’s no way I could have known as a 14 year old girl living through sexual abuse that my pain would or could be used to help others. But that’s exactly what it means “to give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” Isaiah 61:3.

Sandy Cook was born in Halifax Nova Scotia January 1959. She moved to Victoria British Columbia I the summer of 1962. She went to church with her parents and was involved with the church youth choir. In the summer of 72 then 13 she moved to a smaller community and became friends with a girl that invited her to her church youth group. In November of that year Sandy found her mother who had died in the night from a massive heart attack. Now it was just her and her dad at home. She became involved with the youth group and going to church and even invited her dad to come. In April of 73 she accepted Christ into her heart when she was in her Pastor’s basement with her Sunday School teacher. Summer of 74 her dad remarried and became the older sister to two step brothers. The following year her youngest brother became ill and ended up in hospital and passed away. Her step mother never got over his loss. Sandy graduated from high school in 78 and went to college and became a nurses aide. Working with seniors in a geriatric hospital she realized that she was meant to be there as her mom would not have wanted to live like a vegetable after her stokes. Jan 1981 Sandy met her husband on a blind date and got married August 28th 1982. In 1985 they bought there first home. Sandy was not feeling well and went to the Dr and found out she was pregnant in early 1986. My due date was early October. Several weeks went by and she passed some blood clots and ended up in the ER. The Dr ordered a D&C and went back in to have that done. October Sandy was away and suspected she was pregnant again. As soon as she got home she called her Dr and the test came back positive. Doug was born May 27th 1987 Stewart Cook June 4th 1889. She would tell the boys about why they were blessings to her and they would both say their sister died in mommies tummy.

Dr. Denise Wilkins affectionately known as Ms. Denise was born in Montclair, New Jersey, and was raised in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Her painful childhood, caused her to spiral out of control and to fall into a world of rebellion.
As the Bible describes, rebellion is as a type of witchcraft. Witchcraft is strategically designed to destroy you. At 34, home alone, crying, ready to give up, she began to commit suicide. Just before she took the pills she had an encounter with an angel of the Lord who saved her. His audible voice spoke to her and said, ”There are no failures in God!” This undeniable mark of God in 1991 was the day that began the most AMAZING spiritual journey of her life.
Dr. Wilkins affectionately known as Ms. Denise, has been coaching, organizing and speaking since 1996. She laid a foundation with her community work as the founder of Jesus the Spiritual Connection Christian Outreach Network, today referred to as THE NETWORK.
As a woman of faith she co-labored along with local Pastor’s, other community leaders and local gospel artist throughout the inner-city streets of the Washington, DC, (DMV) area. They provided neighborhood concerts that offered food, clothing, toys and giveaways with a message of hope in Christ Jesus.
After the 911 attacks on the Pentagon, Ms Denise continued her street ministry but was offered a position as a Counselor/Outreach Worker for a FEMA Funded program, Project Resilience. The Project Resilience program was run by the Mental Health Department of Alexandria, Virginia.
In 2002, under the auspice of the Mental Health Dept. she established what she now calls, "Black Lights Performing Arts Company" (BLPAC) and CHOICES Motivational Services (CMS). Each program was a huge success in the city. She ran her programs in middle and high schools, as well as other youth facilities such as Detention centers, aged out foster care programs, recreational facilities and anywhere else she was called upon to speak to the youth and their families.
Her work with the City received high honors from the Directors of Mental Health, City Council and the Mayor of the City of Alexandria, Bill Euille, at the time. Ms Denise was recognized with the "Performing the World 2 Organization, which is an internationally developed group of Psychologist. They were amazed by her use of drama as a therapy with positive youth involvement never seen before in the history of the City of Alexandria. Ms Denise is an innovator, trailblazer, and trendsetter whose plethora of creative arts projects and programs change lives.
When the FEMA Funded program closed, Ms. Denise continued running The NETWORK full time until 2010 where she laid her work down with the murder of her youngest son, Justin. In 2012, she pulled her vision out and began to build the new foundation. By 2014, she established the organization Justin L Davis Foundation (JLDF) as a 501(c)3 non-profit. Here target audience is adult women, male and female youth and young adults and their families.
in 2017, Miss Denise moved to the Houston Texas area where she is currently running a community project. In 2019, she was offered an honorary doctorate degree in ministry from Juliana King University.
Ms. Denise is also a writer, director, and producer. She is a licensed minister, certified youth and adult coach and speaker for the Justin L. Davis Foundation. In 2020, she became an author of her first book, "Born Into Dysfunction to be Remade"
In closing, after the loss of her youngest son, she rose out of the ashes to turn her "PAIN into PURPOSE." With a God given youth vision leading her way, she pushes forward. Dr. Tammye Markle, the Founder of Trinity Reins Ranch & Ministries, is an ordained minister and has a Doctorate in Biblical Studies and a Master’s degree in Christian Counseling. Tammye is a Certified Faith-based Equine Assisted Philosophy (FBEAP) Program Facilitator and Instructor and is a 'John Maxwell' Certified Coach, Leadership Trainer, and Speaker. Tammye is the former Chairman of the Miss Texas Pageant Inc. and Scholarship Foundation where she provided mentorship and leadership development for young women. In addition, she has been counseling adult victims of childhood sexual abuse and trauma as well as conducting equine assisted learning and coaching for several years. Growing up on a small ranch in Texas, Tammye has been influenced by horse and herd behavior her entire life. When she wasn't spending time with her family or her horses, Tammye was motivating young people to develop effective leadership skills and a heart for service. Denise is a Veteran of the US Air Force, was called back to active duty on 11 Sep 2001 and spent 8 years on active duty, 3 years as Chief, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Deployment Operations at the Air Force Personnel Center, Randolph AFB, TX, and 5 years as Chief, Behavioral Health for the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), Robins AFB, GA. In her position with AFRC, Denise was responsible for the implementation and oversight of the following programs: Suicide and Violence Prevention, Post-Suicide Review, Critical Incident Stress Management, and Operational and Post-deployment Stress. For 7 years she provided oversight and training for over 200 AFRC personnel, military and civilian, who were part of the AFRC CISM team. Denise deployed to Iraq in 2008 and in 2009 to Kuwait. Denise finished her career as the Mental Health consultant to the 25th Air Force Surgeon General providing resiliency and operational stress management support to Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance personnel. Prior to September 11, 2001, Denise, while an Air Force Reserve Officer, was in private practice working with adults and children affected by traumatic events; a contract provider for the Veterans’ Administration and an Employee Assistance Program provider for the US Postal Service. Denise currently provides coaching to civilians and first responders regarding life and occupational concerns. Denise presents on a variety of topics for military and civilian personnel regarding suicide prevention, intervention and postvention, workplace violence, Critical Incident Stress Management, combat/operational stress management, post-traumatic stress disorder and sexual assault prevention and response. She teaches several International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) courses, is on the ICISF faculty and co-authored the ICISF Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention course. Denise is a core faculty member of the Resiliency Sciences Institute, International at UMBC Training Centers, instructing the certification courses, Resilient Leadership and The Resilient Child. Denise has provided crisis intervention and organizational consultation following airplane and helicopter crashes, homicides, suicides, line-of-duty deaths, manmade and natural disasters, robberies and combat. Kim is a wife, a mother of three, an architect, and an active member of her community in The Woodlands, TX. Kim is the mother of Cassidy. She received her architectural degree from Texas A&M University in 1994 and has pursued her architectural career ever since. Her role as a commercial development planner in The Woodlands for the past 18 years at Ken Anderson & Associates has allowed her to work side by side with founding planners with The Woodlands Development Company. Kimberly was born in Houston Tx 31 years ago and has lived in that area the majority of her life. A driven and ambitious individual. The 5th child of 7 children, Kimberly has always had a love for family and the core values of her family are to love, fear (reverence) and love God. That core value is what has kept Kimberly going; being diagnosed with the rare disease of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy at a early age. Through her teen life she remains passionate about life and persevered through every challenge she faced. In the latter part of 2015 Kimberly's heart began to weaken and was only functioning at 20% after carrying her son Isaiah which put her in high priority for a heart transplant. Isaiah passed away September 23, 2015 and 6 months later On March 1, 2016 Kimberly received a successful heart transplant! Since receiving her new heart, Kimberly is the Support Network Coordinator of a non-profit organization WomenHeart and has been all over the United States inspiring and encouraging others with her story. Not only does Kimberly work with women with heart disease but she also works with special needs children I'm her local school district. Christi Soileau was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana, but transferred to The Woodlands, Texas when her children were young due to a job opportunity for her husband. She is married to her high school sweetheart for 26 years and has 3 amazing children, Garrett, Austin, and Meagan. It was once she moved to Texas and took a job as a special education paraprofessional, that she felt she realized her calling. She returned to college and received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then went on to get certified to teach special education. She has taught special education in the elementary setting for the past 7 years. December 15, 2017, she tragically lost her first born, Garrett, in a car accident when he was 22 years old. She hopes to use her experience of tremendous loss and grief to make a difference in other people’s lives. She has written poetry as an expression of her emotions and to process her grief and has a self-published children’s book called “Hope for Tomorrow – Dealing with Grief’. She and her husband started a non-profit foundation in their son’s memory, The Garrett Soileau Memorial Foundation. The foundation focuses on providing opportunities for the youth through the sport of rugby, a game that Garrett had a huge passion for and one that allowed him to travel the country and make friends around the world. The foundation provides scholarships for those who may not be able to afford the dues, it helps clubs with cost of equipment and travel, provides college scholarships based on positive character traits and leadership ability and honors youth who possess admirable character traits. Recently, she has found a piece of herself again through her love of baking and has decided to follow that path that has brought her some freedom and joy.
