The greatest enemy to the fully surrendered life for Jesus is the death of wonder. We’ve all had our hearts broken in ways that make it hard to hope again. In this message, Pastor Chuck shares 4 responses of those who witnessed Jesus’ resurrection: some wrestled toward wonder; some chose to re-learn wonder; some refused wonder altogether…but every heart who saw Him for who He was couldn’t keep wonder to themselves. For many of us, sometime between our spiritual childhood and adulthood (and often many other times throughout our journey), we find ourselves facing a ‘dark night of the soul’ or a ‘wilderness experience’ where yesterday’s faith simply doesn’t work anymore. These valleys can be disorienting, overwhelming, or downright scary. The question isn’t IF we will face trials that are too big for us; it’s where we will look when it does. We fear even the reference of the Psalm 23:4 "valley of the shadow of death." We forget that shadows require light to even be seen. What if He was revealing various facets of His own heart scattered across humanity, only to be unveiled when we trust one another enough to raise our banner AND receive our brother’s with gratitude? Are we our brothers' keeper? How far am I to go for my fellow man? Genesis 2:8 says that after God placed breath in the nostrils of man, that he planted a garden in Eden, and there he placed man. He placed man in position and with a purpose. When he planted that garden in Eden, he also planted something in man that he was to steward and cultivate, to fill it and govern it, to tend it and guard it. Knit into the hearts of men by their Heavenly Father is a desire to usher and protect is a passionate pursuit of obedience.
In Luke 21, Jesus talked candidly with His followers about the state of current events, the economy, coming natural disasters, the broken systems in religion that have to fall, and even the Day He will once again part the clouds to take us to be with Him forever. But what is amazing is this: while these current events tend to fill the landscape of our conversations and our energy, Jesus gave us three radical ways to live as ambassadors of hope, keeping HIM as the focal point of our horizon. In this message, Pastor Chuck shares the call to Love Jesus with Everything, Reflect Jesus in Everything, and Serve Jesus with Everything!

Whol-i-ness is refined in every place we put our trust in our Redeemer, not our reforms. Humanity has struggled since the beginning with the belief that “if we could just get fill-in-the-blank, then we’d finally be happy and whole.” It has led so many into a contractual relationship with God, believing if we just follow His rules enough, He will bless the life we’re building on our own terms. In this, we spend ample soul trying to re-align our circumstances or resenting God where He isn’t making life “work.” But what if something gloriously better is happening? What if God is always and only REFINING us to a life much better than anything we could script? In this message, Pastor Chuck shares how we can surrender control as re-aligners and find joy in the arms of the Refiner!

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with all people. Romans 12:18 This statement by Paul is bold, particularly if you are living in a place of hurt or offense. But it is not impossible. With Jesus as our guide, we have the peace-making anointing to lay down suspicion and choose to trust. Then, through spiritual maturity, we can take ourselves and the offending party off the hook for the offense, and place it, through forgiveness, on the hook which has been hammered into the cross of Jesus Christ. Peace is not just my inheritance. Peace is my residence. As natives of the Kingdom of Peace, we are called Peacemakers. As peacemakers, we can not be freaked out or shocked by conflict. Jesus warned us about conflict while on this earth.
John 16:33 says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus tells us we will have trouble, conflict, trial, sorrow, disagreements, and fights in this world. Then he says, take heart, be of good cheer, rejoice! Why? Because he has overcome it already. That doesn’t give us cause to ignore conflict or to prove how right we are because we are believers. This would be to take his grace for granted, when we are meant to use it to offer grace to someone else. Conflict is an opportunity to make more peace.

The Church is not a thrift store. We can’t dump our junk or sell it to the unsuspecting. We often fail to think how dumping our sin is damaging to someone else. When we clean out spaces in our hearts and lives, what are we making room for? We don’t need to fake it or have it altogether. We simply need to go to our Father, who is the waste management company. He removes our sin as far as the east is from the west. As believers, when we remove something, it is to make room for something better. And for us, there is nothing better than grace through faith.
The Church is a repair shop. It’s filled with artisans and craftsmen who are skilled to restore those who have been burdened by the junk and sin. Therefore we must choose to evaluate ourselves by the faith God has given us. (Romans 12:3) It is more valuable than gold!

First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. 29 And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come.” Are you ready?

To equip and enable you as a worker in the field. Put the tools in your hand and learn how to harvest. Joel 3:13 Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Are you able?
In an attempt to convert a potential client from a prospect to a sale, we would categorize them as ready, able and willing. It's the same for us as workers in the field in the kingdom of God. Holy Spirit can move even when we don't think we're ready, or able. However, he can't move much through us if we're not willing to let him.
Matthew 9:37 He turned to his disciples and said, “The harvest is huge and ripe! But there are not enough harvesters to bring it all in. 38 As you go, plead with the Owner of the Harvest to thrust out[v] many more reapers to harvest his grain!”
Much of today is about your agreement in faith to partner with what the Spirit is saying right now: The Harvest is Ripe; Swing the Sickle.

5 ways we come into agreement with the evangelistic grace and anointing in us. 1. Go into the field. (Be where the people are)
- Hold the wheat. (Know their story/ENGAGE!)
- Hold your own sickle. (Know your story/IDENTITY) Gospel fluency does not hinge on personality.
- Swing the sickle. (Share the story of Jesus) If there is any rhythm to evangelism, it is found in our ability to recognize the Gospel story in everyone.
Jesus is the author. Jesus is the offer. Feel, Felt, Found:
I understand you feel______, I have felt________ too, when _________. Jesus found me and he__________. Now I have __________. Would you like to know the ________________ I have found?
John 4:42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”
- Bundle/Gather the harvest. (Join the church! MCs and Discipleship) At Overflow they are bundled in Missional Community where the harvest is used for future fields and harvests.
John 4:34-38 34 Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. 35 You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe[e] for harvest. 36 The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! 37 You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. 38 I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”
The woman drops her jar. Why? She no longer needs the things of this world. Her time is better spent not getting those physical needs met, but meeting the spiritual needs of others. In other words, by our standards, she is not able, she is not ready, BUT she is willing. Are you?
