Welcome to DataSoc's first-ever podcast! Here at Ireland's first student Data Society, we have made our weekly Speaker Series easily accessible and readily available to all students. Whether you are on-the-go or at home (like most of us right now), we encourage our listeners from all different backgrounds to tune in to our weekly episodes featuring industry experts and data science enthusiasts!
Ameya is a member of the Analytics & Cognitive team in Deloitte Ireland's Consulting department. He completed his Masters in Computer Science with a specialisation in Data Science at UCD. Ameya has over two years' experience in the banking industry where he took on regulatory reporting, finance transformation, data processing and modelling roles, using his analytical skills in data management and solutions development.
In this week's Speaker Series episode, DataSoc members Ahmed and Sam meet with Michael Phelan, Johnson & Johnson's 2018 Data Scientist of the year.
Phelan is a passionate analytics and digital transformation leader with 20 years’ experience delivering solutions, and developing strategies across healthcare, service, electronics and educational sectors.

She is an experienced technical and biomedical researcher, developing exceptional end-to-end systems for aging, smart cities and IoT systems research! Nosa is the founder of AKA Blockchains, a student startup that makes it safe and simple to invest in Bitcoin and learn about blockchain. His mission is to increase awareness of the decentralised revolution that is currently underway and to achieve mass adoption. Nosa developed his IT skills only during college whilst studying Science, he will give us an insight into how he manages his time as a students as well as a founder.
In our Final Women in Tech Interview Series of 2020, we will be speaking with Regina Mora, the international CEO & Non-Executive Director of the UK’s National Grid! Regina has forged a highly successful career in technology, having previously held global leadership roles at both Vodafone and Fujitsu. We are absolutely thrilled to have gotten the opportunity to ask Regina some your questions about senior leadership and her experiences in the technology industry!

Tracey is the Innovation Community Manager at Bank of Ireland. She has extensive experience building websites, branding and in finance. She is also the CEO and Co-Founder of Grow Remote, a community project impacting rural areas.

DataSoc Committee members Ahmed and Saoirse interviewed Sai Vasantha who is a Senior Consultant at EY. Sai holds three higher-level degrees; a BSc. and MSc. in Information Technology and a MSc. in Strategic Management and Planning from UCD Smurfit.
Before coming to Ireland, Sai worked at a financial services firm in India and in the UK as an IT Business Systems Analyst. After completing his second masters in Ireland, Sai worked in Deloitte as a Solutions Consultant. Soon afterwards he was offered a senior role at EY, specialising in Business Transformation.
